Enjoyed having this comfortable, quiet home where we could relax and do laundry after several days on the road. Was a great, quiet location from which to explore the island and Acadia National Park. Would stay here again.
Great house on the quiet side of MDI. We were there over a holiday weekend in October and Bar Harbor was jumping. But over in SW Harbor, all was serence. This house is a great base to explore all around MDI.
This is a great location to Acadia and surrounding areas. This is a very quiet neighborhood and this house had everything you would need and comfy beds! Would recommend!
Property was great for our small group and had great access to Acadia Park. Southwest Harbor had everything we needed and able to avoid the higher prices and traffic headaches of Bar Harbor.
Maria’s house is very clean and cute. The location is great as you can check out the town as well as some nice trails that are very close. Short drive to bar harbor as well. I love that they also had some games for kids and a gate upstairs for stair safety.
Overall great location and wonderful hosts. Couches are comfortable which is important after day of hiking/riding. Quiet location and you will definitely hear the coyotes serenading each evening .
We had our second stay here. It’s a perfect quiet spot for Corvette Weekend on Mount Desert Island.
Cute, quaint, and unforgettable! Maria was exceptional at communicati!
This is a beautiful house, tastefully furnished. Owner is very easy accessible and helpful.House is very comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay.Beds are comfortable, property was very clean and kitchen was well equipped.
The cottage was a wonderful base for our short stay on MDI. Clean, comfortable and easily accessible to all that Acadia has to offer. I would definitely recommend to anyone who doesn't need/want to be in the hustle and bustle of Bar Harbor but still enjoy the area.
The house is really charming with everything you could need - including a washer & dryer. Beds were comfy, decking was great and the local deer were an added bonus. Southwest Harbor itself is fairly small though so if you're looking lots of shops, bars & restaurants then Bar Harbor is better. But we like nice, quiet places and the local walks (Ship Harbor trail & Wonderland) were stunning. A 30 mins drive takes you to Cadillac mountain and all the amazing scenery Acadia has to offer. We absolutely loved our stay in this house & Maria was really helpful & quick to respond through the whole process. Definitely recommend
Great location. Perfect for our vacation with our dog.
We really enjoyed our stay. It certainly is the quiet side of the island. The color scheme of the house was perfect in blue & aqua. Very clean, lots of windows for lighting and views. We enjoyed the living room each evening to relax and regroup. Laundry downstairs was easy to use, the grill worked well. Each morning I walked down the drive to view the dock/bay area. Such a great view each day. Beds are comfortable, lots of room. We would definitely stay here on a future visit. Thank you!
The house was charming and quaint! It was an easy walk to the water too!
Me, my husband, and my 1 year old had a great time at Maria's place in Southwest Harbor. It was the perfect spot to explore Mount Desert Island/Acadia. 1 minute drive or 15 minute walk into SW Harbor, and about a 20 min drive to Bar Harbor. The house was very clean and had everything we needed....including the added bonus of a pack and play, high chair, and a few toys for our daughter. Maria was so kind and accommodating, and easy to text with! Would definitely recommend this place and we hope to be back ourselves in the years to come!
This house was very clean and had everything we needed for our stay. The only recommendation I have is for there to be more electrical outlets throughout the home.
We have not rented and stayed in a VRBO since before the pandemic started. This was a great return to travel. The house was wicked clean. I now travel with Clorox wipes and there was not a smidge of dust on surfaces. The minimalist, clean design style was perfect as we all have allergies. The pictures do not do it justice,. The home was the perfect size for 1 dog, my husband and myself, and is ideally located near Arcadia. Hiking every day was easy; especially when you knew you would come “home” to a comfy bed and a garden filled with flowers and the occasional wandering deer. This was the first time that we stayed in southwest harbor, but it will not be the last. If it didn’t involve a 13-hour drive for us, we would definitely try to find time to go back again this year. The neighbors and their dog Cain were friendly. Plus the views of the bay are beautiful. Thanks so much for letting us borrow your home.
