Stayed Jun 23, 2024The house is older and due for updating. However, all the appliances are in good working order and the kitchen/dining area is very spacious. Nice quiet area with trees. We enjoyed seeing deer in the yard. Walkable to Douglas Beach and a short drive to Oval Beach.

Stayed Aug 23, 2023I’ll start by saying the location is great! That’s about the only great experience of this place! The home is a little run down and has a few broken things inside! Shower drain was clogged with hair! Ceiling in the kitchen has what looks like water damage and mold and it’s flaking off! Checked in and the house was 80 degrees, figured maybe they just turned the air on before check in so we gave it an hour to start cooling down! Instead it went up to 82 degrees! I called Vacasa and told them the issue and they said they would get ahold of the local manager and have the air resolved! ** after reading the latest review it’s apparent that the AIR WASNT WORKING FOR THE PREVIOUS GUEST AND THEY NEVER FIXED IT! Called Vacasa help line numerous times throughout the evening and it was the same routine, they would say can I put you on hold while I try to reach the local manager! I’d sit on hold for 15-20 minutes and they would come back on the line and say, “we can’t reach the local manager but a ticket has been created to get the air fixed”! The home got up to 86 degrees! Half the windows wont open! Woke up the next morning and drove to the local vacas office! Knocked on the door and no one answered! There’s a number on the door you can call to reach them so I called and no answer! I proceeded to call atleast 10 times and the manager never once answered or returned my call! Called Vacasa help line again and it was the same routine!

Stayed Aug 19, 2023The house was situated in a nice wooded area - a family of deer were regularly spotted nearby. It was spacious and it was nice to see that the property could support similar number of guests for dining and leisure as well as sleep. The house itself is a bit worn looking, tired 1970's decor, with some inoperable windows & blinds and holes in the screens. BUT this all could have been overlooked if only the A/C was working. Sleeping in hot 80 degree, humid bedrooms was impossible. See note about holes on screens. We did not use the upstairs room - suffocating! Vacasa was notified shortly after checking in of the situation. We asked for fans. No fans came. They offered a discount of 10%, which I have yet to see. And on reflection, too paltry of a sum to make up for the missed sleep. Luckily it was only a 3 night stay. The weather was in the low 80's while we were there - so not during a heat wave.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969The location to Douglas City Beach was a perfect little walk/quick drive away. The yard had all sorts of wildlife. The house has good space and lots of beds … but it is all probably in need of some love and repairs.

Stayed Jul 5, 2022The house was great. Lots of bedrooms, big tv room, beautiful backyard and super close to the beach. Huge kitchen. Only a few things that could use some TLC- the washing machine was missing a part so a part of the machine would not stay in place. You could only do heavy loads to weigh the part down. I texted the local Vacasa person, but never got a response. There were lots of bugs in the attic room- almost like the housekeeper didn't clean thoroughly before we came. It wasn't a huge issue but my teens were a little squeamish. It's an attic space so it was not unexpected, but maybe just needed a more detailed vacuum upstairs. Otherwise, we had a fabulous time and would rent this house again!

Stayed Nov 25, 2021The place was great. A lot of separate bedrooms for each guest to have privacy but lots of common spaces to gather in groups. We were able to all eat at the table together for dinner for 8 people. The place was clean and spacious and the deck and backyard looked great although we didn’t use them due to the weather.

Stayed May 20, 2021Finding properties without a lot of stairs or no stairs is pretty hard. This property met that need and offered everyone their own room. The beds were comfortable and the house is furnished nicely. The location was perfect - woody area and super close to Saugatuck. We enjoyed having hot dogs at the Rootbeer Barrel down the street. We were not able to use the outside deck due to a nasty nest of carpenter bees. They were swarming all over. It looked nice, although in need of a bit of TLC, and we got to see deer feeding in the yard. The house was pretty clean, except for the chairs in the dining room. Not sure when the last time they were given a really good cleaning. We tried sitting in the living room but no one ever buys sofa beds for their comfort so we quickly switched to the kitchen. The linens and towels were all in good shape and nice - not thin and tiny. There are two bathrooms on the main level - one is quite tiny but usable with a bathtub. I would recommend the owners install some grab bars to make it easier to get in an out of the tubs. But then I'm 65 and want to make sure I don't fall. It's not an issue for the younger crowd. The front porch steps could use a coat of paint and possible replacement of a couple of boards, but entry into the house is only three steps. It's a roomy house and the outdoor space would make it great for a group with kids.

Stayed Jun 10, 2021Generations was a great place for our family to stay during a long weekend trip to Douglass/Saugatuck. It was a nice halfway point for folks from Chicago and Detroit. For 7 adults and 2 kids there was plenty of room for everyone. The best part was the large kitchen and dining area where everyone congregated. Very close to Oval Beach and downtown Saugatuck to spend the days and short half mile walk to Douglass beach to view the beautiful sunsets. The big deck with 2 patio tables, string lights, grill, and firepit all added to the wonderful experience.
