Simply charming cottage

What a way to relax! Loved sitting on the porches to watch the cows and deer.Theresa was an excellent host. Can't wait to return to this beautiful spot.

We came down to Virginia for a family reunion and I’m the one who has the job of looking for a place to stay. I searched quite a few til I came across this lovely cottage and may I add, pet friendly! We have 2 Boxers and they go with us every time we travel which sometimes can be difficult to find a place that will accept Boxers, let alone 2! Theresa is an absolutely amazing woman! She want sure of when we would arrive because I forgot to let her know that we were on our way from Pennsylvania but, she checked and saw we were not there yet at 815 so she put on the porch light, the door was unlocked, yes unlocked which I definitely appreciated (I hate those lock boxes when it’s dark and I’m tired….lol) fresh flowers in almost every room and an amazing large piece of carrot/walnut cake! I can see why she is a wonderful host and cannot wait til we can stay there again! Then there’s the birds, you need the Merlin App if you wanna hear all the amazing sounds of the many many birds in the area. The cows mooing as you wake up with your cup of coffee or tea and of course the deer running across the meadow. I loved every moment. ThankYou Theresa again for the wonderful stay! Brought my dog to this really cute and quaint cottage! We had an issue figuring out where to park but that was totally my bad, I missed instructions. The cottage had everything we needed and was so peaceful and quiet. We felt very comfortable and loved it. Our host was more than amazing and super sweet! We would stay again

Amazing! A must stay for those who appreciate rest and relaxation in an unbelievable setting. This was a dream! The host was wonderful! She left a delicious homemade treat and fresh flowers on the table. The property was stunning and my kids got to explore freely without worry. 10/10!

Theresa, the owner of the property, was so hospitable and easy to work with. She warmly greeted us, gave us the lay of the land, tended to our needs, and welcomed us to explore her beautiful property. We wish we had more time to explore but it was a busy few days with our son’s graduation so we will definitely come back again!

We had such a wonderful stay at this charming cottage. The property is magnificent and Theresa is such an incredible and sweet lady. It is clear that she works really hard and we just adored her, her sweet doggies, and everything about our stay. We will definitely return!

I don’t even have words to explain how beautiful this place is.. it’s honestly like time just stopped.. when I first booked this house I was worried about not having wifi but honestly it is just what we needed..the pictures don’t even do this place justice. When we walked in we had cake and fresh flowers on the table it was such a lovely touch. Everything was clean and well stocked… The owner of the property came and introduced herself and was very nice and helpful. We loved playing with the dogs, watching the cows, and driving around the property…the stars are beautiful there at night that was my favorite part…I can’t wait to book our next stay there again.

Adorable, clean, cozy, country cottage. My Mom and I were so impressed with the cleanliness and decor of this cottage. The hostess is wonderful. She has her cottage well stocked and prepared to host guests. It felt like being hosted by a friend. Make sure you check out the night sky during your stay, beautiful.

The host, Theresa, was very welcome and willing to share the beauty of her property. The cabin's location is amazing and the overall property is extremely serene and cozy. The kitchen has everything you'd need and the living room was very comfortable, especially with the gas fireplace. Our daughter loved having the whole upstairs to herself. I understand why this is a 10/10 property with repeat visitors.

Our host was delightful. Most accommodating. We were greeted with the porch light on and a fresh dessert on the kitchen table.

It was a very beautiful location. Away from the noise and extremely quiet.

Perfect it’s always perfect. I love staying here host is exceptional goes out of her way to make it. Perfect I even had a hot water bottle in my bed when I turned it down. What a great touch!

The cottage is absolutely wonderful! The views from the front and back porch are beautiful. Being able to walk around the property allowed us time to decompress from the busy city life. The ponds, gardens and landscaping are truly beautiful and serene. The host, Theresa is such a wonderful person, always wanting to make sure we were happy and taken care of. We would absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for a beautiful place to stay with much peace and quiet.

We had a memorable week here, just relaxing and enjoying the weather and the scenic views. The cottage was incredibly comfortable and homey. The host decorated the dining room and bedroom with fresh flowers from the garden, and she made us homemade zucchini bread, with zucchini from the farm's vegetable garden. The kitchen was well appointed, and when I cooked, I found all the tools I needed. It was quiet and peaceful in the house at night, and the bed was super comfortable for a good night's sleep, The weather was perfect when we were there and we were outside all day, every day. The farm has a lovely hiking trail that takes you through a wooded areas, by ponds and over charming bridges with handrails woven together from tree branches like out of a fairytale. Our dogs loved the fenced yard and fresh air. In the mornings, they would go to the fence to see the cows, and the cows usually wanted to see them too! This is a great place to unplug and just let your mind and body rest. I recommend leaving the porch light off at night and doing some stargazing - it’s magical. The host was very gracious and kind, and responded quickly when we had questions. You won’t go wrong choosing this place for a peaceful getaway.

The views are amazing. It’s so peaceful and the house was very clean and had everything we needed. We will definitely be back again. My family loved it. Host was very kind and responsive to any questions we had.

My only true issues with this place was 1. I think they could dust a little better. There was dog hair all over the side table in the room I was staying in. 2. No wifi. I didn’t realize this until a few days before the trip. Luckily I had enough service to do what I needed to do. BUT the good far outweighed the bad at this property. We came up here for my son’s 5th birthday. It was a very beautiful property and house. It had the most beautiful flowers around the house and property, and a very nice vegetable garden. The trails were kept up with and easy to manage. Beautiful views. Host was very nice and quick to respond, & even brought us cake. And there was a lot to do in surrounding areas as well. This is by far the most peaceful vacation we’ve taken, and we will definitely be back!

The three of us stayed here to celebrate a friend's birthday weekend. We all had a wonderful time. The pond you can swim in is amazing. The hostess is super friendly and sweet. Their dogs and pet duck are lovely. The property beautiful and the views are stunning. It was very relaxing and enjoyable. I hope we get to come back again.

This was my second day here at the cottage. First time was in the fall, and I fell in love with the place had to come back in the summer to see all the garden in bloom. I was a little worried that there was no AC but the nights are cool and there’s always a breeze. I was comfortable the whole time and I was there over the July 4 weekend. Enjoyed exploring the property, we got plenty of walking in finding the whimsical gates and bridges and even a tunnel. It is just so beautiful and peaceful. Perfect place to relax and reset.

We had a very relaxing and wonderful time here. We especially enjoyed spotting butterflies, firefly’s, and lots of cows. There is plenty of hiking spots and beautiful scenery & sunsets/sunrises to enjoy.

It was fabulous. So nice and relaxing to have coffee on the porch and enjoy the cool mornings. To see the many deer walking around the property and coming up the road. Hearing the cows in the fields. The owner has a wonderful personality and is so talented, from cooking, to the fresh cut flowers in the home upon arrival. Seeing her garden and all the beautiful flowers she had planted. It was just a great weekend and we enjoyed it so much. We really wanted to stay. I’ll definitely be going back and spending more time.. the property alone is worth walking through. It’s definitely a paradise.

A memorable stay made new friends. The cottage was like Home. I did not want leave everything. Everyone was most accommodating. The host went out of her way to help me in my quest looking for property. Beautiful garden, beautiful scenery. A high point of my stay was siding two bears. I will be back.

I look forward to coming here every year. I appreciated just roaming the properties and the peace and quiet. Thank you again for another great vacation.

Our stay in this cottage was perfect. The picturesque setting was amazing and we enjoyed interacting with our bird and cow neighbors. There are lots of trails that we enjoyed exploring on our host’s property. But most of all, we enjoyed the English hospitality of our host Teresa who prepared a flower arrangement and carrot bread for our arrival. We will return again soon. RuthGardner, Staunton , VA

Well the reviews are all correct..this is a SPECIAL place...the cottage was just perfect and the special touches included fresh cut flowers in the rooms and fresh cake ( yum!) and all the special decorations in each room..beautiful!..Our hosts were super and very welcoming! just a real pleasure to chat with ! The property was amazing with the adorable gates and archway leading from the woods into the field with the gypsy wagon and pond. The kids really enjoyed fishing and exploring the woods and fields and didnt want to leave...now that is awesome in itself because they normally like to be online..but not here..they wanted to be outside! Our parents came to visit one afternoon and they loved the place too....we cant wait to come back! because we didnt want to leave...its that special... Thanks Theresa! your and your hubby are top notch people. We wish you all the best..
