See, smell, and hear the ocean enjoying sunrise in the morning or evening cocktails on the porch at this semi-oceanfront beach house in Kill Devil Hills! As close as you can get to oceanfront without being on the ocean, the only thing between you and the beach will be the Beach Road and the dune in front of the house. Enjoy direct beach access via the semi-private path over the dunes. And, in season, there is a lifeguard stand less than 50 yards away at the Helga Street beach access.
The space
Relax and enjoy the beach at this 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom semi-oceanfront cottage near milepost 5 on the beach road in Kill Devil Hills. There are no oceanfront homes directly in front of the cottage, so your views are only obstructed by sea grass and dunes on the oceanfront. In addition, we have a semi-private walkover path on the dune in front of the house for direct beach access. (You do have to cross the 2 lane Beach Road to get to the path.) We are just 50 yards from the Helga Street beach access, so in season, you'll have the bonus peace of mind from the attended life guard stand located there.

• Laundry area with full-size washer and dryer

• Parking for up to 4 vehicles
• Decking with ocean views, outdoor seating, and a stair gate
• Semi-private beach walkover path directly across the street

Guest access
Guests can enjoy the entire cottage with the exception of locked owner's closets and garage area.

We do not have cable television. We have Roku TVs and you must use your own accounts to stream premium or pay services.


We supply the first roll of paper towels in the kitchen and a roll of toilet paper in each bathroom. Guests are responsible for supplying paper products after the initial supply.

We supply bath towels and linens. You must bring your own beach towels.

Trash collection is very early morning on Mondays and Thursdays. Guests are asked to roll cans out Sunday night and Wednesday nights. Failure to roll cans out for pick up will result in a $50 charge for trash removal.

There is a Ring doorbell camera monitoring the entrance and driveway.

We are family-friendly, but this is not a child-proof home.

There is a 4-car maximum for the house.

We allow one dog with prior approval and payment of pet fee. Please let us know in advance if you plan to bring your dog and add them to your guest count in order for the pet fee to be charged. Dogs must be house-trained, friendly (in case we need to access the house), up to date on flea meds and shots, and well-socialized. Dogs are not to be left alone unattended in the house uncrated for extended periods of time. Be sure to pick up after your dog in all areas and keep your dog off the furniture. If you have a shedding type breed, clean-up also means hair within reason. Failure to do so or any damage from your dog will result in an additional fee.

Minimum age for renters not accompanied by a parent or guardian is 25 years old. You will be asked to provide a copy of photo ID and sign a rental agreement.
