We wanted a stay on a lake in this area, somewhere more private, where cabins aren't stacked up on each other. This place was perfect! It is simple, comfortable and fully functional. We enjoyed campfires at night, the starry sky is incredible. We caught several fish, using the rowboat. The upstairs beds are clean and comfortable. Meals were easy to prepare using the outdoor griddle, stove-top and large toaster oven. The indoor wood-burning stove came in very handy when the night temps dropped to 36 degrees. We also really enjoyed the wildlife at the cabin. Aside from ducks, frogs, and chipmunks, we seen bald eagles, otters, sandhill cranes, several deer and a fox. The wildlife sounds from across the lake, late at night, are intense. The hummingbirds forced me to fill the feeder. They are huge compared to down-state, but you will hear them before you see them. Then they'll make you feel guilty if their feeder is dry. The cabin is centrally located to a lot of attractions. We did a day trip into Munising for a pictured rocks tour and to visit several waterfalls. Also, a ride south to visit Kitch-iti-kipi. The directions to the cabin, provided by the host, are detailed and accurate. Check-in and check-out were a breeze. Overall, a great stay!

Lovely, peaceful setting, very relaxing. Close to attractions in Munising. Comfortable. Must read owners' description very literally. I.e., stove top means range top, no oven; TV means tv and VCR, no cable or broadcast access. (We did enjoy some of the old VHS and DVDs provided). Better directions to house would have helped especially after dark. We'd rent this location again.

We always enjoy fishing at the various lakes as well as Stella Lake. Lonny and Tammy always warmly welcome us. We appreciated the improvements they made this year! If you are looking for peace and quiet in the beauty of a natural setting, this spot is perfect! This is our third anniversary we have spent here.

My family stayed at Stella Lake for a week and had the absolute best time! The cabin is remote, quiet and peaceful with breathtaking views of the lake. Our kids had the best time fishing off the dock and with the row boat. Being pet friendly is a must for us and our dogs had the best time as well. My favorite thing was being able to sit on the deck and see everything, including the hummingbirds. They visited daily! The cabin is a simple set up, nothing fancy - just as it should be. Everything you need is right there. The owner stopped by to say hello and make sure we had everything we needed, otherwise we saw no one else. We had just the very best experience and would love to return one day.

First off let me explain my rating on cleanliness. I completely and totally understand being secluded and there being rodents and bugs. What i felt was not clean is the musty smell which was strong. I carry air fresheners and fixed the situation quickly. A couple of air fresheners would easily defuse the smell. For those that have commented on the “brown water and stains on the tub and toilet- thats well water, that will happen. The cabin is very secluded but in a very prime location. Munising is only about 35 minutes away- which has a laundry mat and awesome shopping as well as done very breathtaking falls and sights! Pete’s Lake was close and had a beach and very clear water for swimming in. The accommodations were perfect for us and it was just what we needed to rejuvenate! The falls around the area are a must as is Buckhorn resort for dinner! The host was extremely polite in my conversations. Thank you for sharing your home! It definitely has beauty to it!
