Rose Haven offers a small, but fully-equipped place to stay, which offers the travelers a complete-home experience compared to a hotel room. Cissy and Wes, the onsite hosts, were welcoming and helpful.
The house has a yellow jacket infestation. We could not hang out outside except for early morning before they were up and buzzing. There is a ton of construction going on and the streets are being repaved with lots of road closures. The window air conditioner went out and we had to have the neighbor help with the power breaker to fix it. Also, it’s mentioned that there is wifi but it did not work well at all. I was planning to work a couple days on my trip but couldn’t because the wifi was so choppy.
Sweet little home in a quiet montrose neighborhood within a few blocks to downtown. Good dog walking areas with a path along the creek a block behind the house. Good wifi, tv is dvd only. We enjoyed our stay here.
It was close to town, and the neighborhood was quiet.
Such a lovely cottage. The amenities like the fridge and shower were new and clean. The decor was pleasant as was the convenient location. The property is managed by the family next door.
Great location. Montrose is a nice town. House didn't get good wifi reception, and no sheets available for the hideaway bed. (I was told later that I was supposed to have requested those when I made the reservation.)
The cottage has everything you need to stay for a week. The location is great for fishing, and touring the mountains.
This place was great for my parents to stay while they were visiting Montrose. They enjoyed it and appreciated the flexibility to modify their trip dates. Thank you!
This stay worked well for my partner and i for a quick trip to Montrose for a wedding. The house was clean and tidy and very cozy. The only critique i have is to list the current wifi Name and the password, it was a bit of a guessing game to figure out which network to connect to!
I liked the location, I liked the city. The RH furniture was my issue. It appears that the RH allows pets and those pets like the furniture. I couldn't use the couch.
Cozy and comfortable stay in a great location in town. It was clean and quiet as well. Thanks for a great stay!
Old & dated but cute little cottage for our 10-day stay in town for the County Fair. Very quiet location but just a couple of blocks from the main street through town & 3 blocks from a grocery store. Bed was comfortable and shower was clean and powerful. Towels were plush. Kitchen was very small but adequate. One tiny window A/C unit in the bedroom struggled a bit to keep up with the unusual 100+ degree heat, but cooled down comfortably at night. Be aware personal toiletries are not provided here. Cissy was very friendly & available to help in any way needed; we enjoyed our visits with her & Wes and their kids next door.
Property was absolutely perfect for me: clean, neat, having all needs available. Couldn’t ask for anything better. And you rice was phenomenal for the quality! Thank you!
My wife and I stayed here for a week. The cottage was clean and nice. We did a lot of outdoor activities around the area, at the end of the day we would return to the cottage to relax.
What a horrible experience The property owner did not inform us that there was no parking available at the property due to street construction in front of the property. Only after the reservation was made and we could not cancel and still receive a refund did Ms Marlof inform us that parking was and issue but promised that parking would be provided. When we arrived we found no parking available. When we tried to park at her recommend location and received threats of physical violence from her neighbors. We reached out to Ms Marlof multiple times that evening by phone but never received a return call ever from Ms Marlof. The only response she could provide was by the VRBO message board hours later was “I am unable to refund your money, so I suggest you try to work it out.”. We were thus forced to seek lodging elsewhere at additional expense. We have tried to seek a refund form Ms Marlof and VRBO. Ms Marlof has refused to provide a refund even though the property was misrepresented at the time we made our reservations. Incredibly poor customer service for any guest expecting to place their trust to be dealing in honesty about the property and believe the host cares about her guest's safety more than for her profit and self-interest. AVIOD THIS PROPERTY AT ALL COSTS!
The minute we walked in we felt at home. It was cozy and clean, and had everything we needed
We had a great stay even though all we did was sleep there. We left early and came back late. Great place and better than a hotel.
There wasn't much traffic and the place was very comfortable including the bed. The kitchen had what we needed in order to have coffee and toast every morning. There are other items if you want to cook as well. Cissy was very helpful letting us in and providing us with soap (listing needs to be updated stating no sundries). She is very friendly and welcoming. The location is close to restaurants of which I would recommend Pahgre Pizza and Camp Robber. There are also plenty of department stores, drug stores and gas stations. We took a jeep tour out of Ouray that was quite the experience. Also enjoyed walking around Telluride one afternoon. We did drive up the South Rim Road in Black Canyon of Gunnison. Plan 2 to 3 hours and choose 6 or so of the 12 lookouts.
Loved the full kitchen and comfy accomodations. Just myself and my husband, so plenty of room. Small back sitting area worked great to store our e-bikes! Location was wonderful - close to downtown and bike paths. Nice quiet neighborhood with safe parking also. Would definitely recommend this stay.
The Rose Haven cottage was just as advertised. Good location for Black Canyon of the Gunnison, Silverton, Ouray, Telluride. Because of construction between Montrose and Crested Butte we had to take a detour but the scenery was lovely. The sofa bed was not that comfortable for a 65 year old. We had plenty of hot water.
Loved the quaint cottage..just perfect for my 2 week stay in Montrose. Cissy and Wes, next door were very helpful.
