Stayed Jan 12, 2026Absolutely amazing place to stay. View from balcony is stunning. It's inside a hotel property, so there was daily maid service which is really nice. Mini kitchen had everything you'd need to cook up meals if you'd like and had a full size fridge, which is nice since restaurants in the area are priced like expensive downtown restaurants in the US but groceries are super cheap. It didn't bother us, but it's worth nothing the one road leading to Manuel Antonio is far (like a couple hundred feet) below you but you will definitely hear the car noise. It's not like horns or honking, but the engines on most vehicles there are pretty loud so you will hear it on the balcony except for late at night and early morning. We went for my wife's birthday and I'm thinking of going back for mine since we loved the room and area so much.Faith was also super responsive and helpful. She helped me get my room swapped when someone barely beat me to the punch on my original room selection and has lots of good info for anything you might want while visiting Quepos.

Stayed May 28, 2025My spouse and I travel often, and this was one of our favorite stays! As a pilot, my husband loves all things aviation, so the airplane hotel was a must. What really stood out was the privacy and jungle setting. You access the airplane via a suspended bridge, adding a touch of adventure. The balcony view was breathtaking—Manuel Antonio National Park, the beach, and lush jungle full of wildlife. We saw scarlet macaws, toucans, monkeys, and more just from our balcony! The secluded vibe was perfect for us, but we also had access to all resort amenities—pools, restaurants, trails, and beach. We enjoyed being active, walking down to the beach daily (the walk up was a bit of a workout). The privacy was amazing; I even enjoyed outdoor baths surrounded by nature. The kitchen had everything we needed for a few home-cooked meals, but we loved eating at El Avion—definitely try the mahi-mahi and Pina Coladas! Our stay from May 28 to June 2 was quiet, with mostly empty pools and beaches. The zipline was fun (perfect for active couples in their 40s), and the beach was a peaceful retreat under a shaded tree. Highly recommend visiting Manuel Antonio National Park—a must-see!

Stayed Jan 22, 2025The idea of converting the airplane to a place to stay was cleaver. We lived the uniqueness of the unit and especially the privacy of where it was located on the resort. The view was spectacular and we enjoyed sitting on the deck to take it all in during our stay. We would recommend to all our friends.

Stayed Jul 26, 2024Love every second of being in the cockpit cottage. We were surrounded by wildlife and the sounds of nature, waking up to monkeys playing in the trees around us. The staff was delightful, and the food was on point. A+++

Stayed Jun 1, 2024We enjoyed our stay at the Cockpit Cottage! The employees were very cordial and ready to help us with any kind of requests. To the point of looking up the Uvita tide times so we could see the “whale tail”. The whole compound they have created with all of the restaurants and surreal airplanes emerging from the jungle is fantastical! Having monkeys bouncing around you while you sleep is such a thrill. The drinks were strong and made with the freshest fruits. Being our first trip to Costa Rica, we were shocked at the temperature/humidity difference between Monteverde and the Manuel Antonio. area. The bathroom being screened in and outside of the airplane was unique but not helpful with keeping insects away. We were somewhat surprised when we arrived that the Cockpit Cottage was part of a larger compound of many restaurants and a hotel. Finding this on VRBO I had a misconception that this was going to be a private hideaway sort of rental. You definitely have your space for privacy but there is a lot going on in the area. Overall, we had fun and a great experience! And I would definitely go back.
