Wonderful home on the river.
We love this property! Quaint, beautiful and clean. Perfect location for when family comes to visit in Bakersville
Great weekend! House is perfect and has everything you need. Very clean and well organized. Would definitely stay there again!
The home was lovely. Very cozy. The only challenge was getting there. GPS is not very good in the mountains and there were only directions if you were coming from the west. We came from Raleigh (east) and had a difficult time finding the place.
This house was everything we needed and more! It felt like home. The scenery was breathtaking. We look forward to staying here again.
Wonderful place to get away from it all. The home was cozy and comfortable. The neighborhood is very friendly, serene and perfectly peaceful. My wife and adult children thoroughly enjoyed our time. We we're able to go and hike some waterfalls and other sites and then enjoy a relaxing fire by the river every evening. The bonuses were floating whenever we wanted and the train coming through at night was pretty cool.
It was wonderful
This property was perfect for relaxing and floating the river. Everything was exactly as advertised and easy to access. The only small hiccup was the washer and dryer not working or stopping mid cycle. Maybe a short?
A lovely place! The most beautiful place we’ve ever stayed as far scenery goes. The house is nestled up in the mountains, and the river in front is just majestic. It was 4 degrees and nighttime when we got there. We woke up to a beautiful gift. A fabulous view of the flowing river with icy chunks in it. Very quiet and private. We had planned on camping in Gatlinburg, but the weather was too bad, and we were able to snag this place at the last minute for Christmas. So glad we did, and were able to experience this! The house is very clean, had special touches, was comfortable, and welcoming. The rooms and bathroom are spacious. Nice pantry and modern kitchen. We had everything we needed. Comfy couch. There are only two cons. One is that you pay for the peace and quiet by having such a long drive into town. It’s over an hour either direction. We came here to snowboard at Sugar and Beech mountain and we went shopping in Boone and Asheville so it was a long drive everyday, but when you get home at night and see the river flowing it’s magical and you forget about how long the drive was. We enjoyed playing games every night after long days of shopping in town. The other con is that the parking is not next to the house so we had to carry all the luggage a little ways in freezing weather. It would be nice if there was a dolly on-site. You could put all your shopping bags in totes and dolly it to the house. I would recommend bringing one. One thing to note is that the two bedrooms upstairs have beaded curtains instead of doors. It wasn’t a problem for us. You cannot see through them, but if keeping people in/out or noise is a concern, you might want to be prepared for that. We came with our two grown sons and my mother, and we’re glad we were able to bring our two dogs with us. I’m sure Summertime would be nice as well. We would definitely stay again. 5 Stars!
Lovely house on the river. Peace and quiet abounds
This property is beautiful! Their attention to detail is incredible. Very clean. The only thing I would have to say is that only one bedroom is on the main floor. If you have knee problems make sure you claim the main floor bedroom. If you like wildlife stay here. It’s quiet and a very relaxing place. The river was beautiful
This was the perfect mini vacation for our family. The house is updated nicely and the view from the porch was awesome. And so was the fishing. No wifi was an issue at first, but it became a blessing in disguise.
Enjoyed our time at the Joy Cottage. House was very clean and kitchen stocked well. Very relaxing to be near the river. Appreciated the emails from Melissa and her team checking on us while we were there. It would be nice to have easier access from the house to the river especially if anyone had mobility issues. Overall a nice trip.
It was a lovely week!
The secondary property they sent us was nice I just wish they did not lie and I would have had the first property it was one mile from my brother's house it was an inconvenience thank you
