Mallard Cottage dates back to the mid 1830's. Originally it was a barn where boats were restored but then was modified into a cottage. We purchased the cottage at the beginning of 2012 but unfortunately it was unsafe and most of the original cottage had to be rebuilt to modern standards. Our cottage stands in the heart of Bude and sits on the banks of the River Neet, only 2 minutes walk to the beach and canal. It has its own access road to the rear with parking for 2/3 vehicles and a balcony

Stayed Sep 16, 2024We booked this property at really short notice after seeing the great weather forecast! The owner was extremely helpful and called the night before to give clear check in instructions. The cottage was exactly as described and perfectly located for everything. Felt very at home in the cottage and loved siting out on the balcony. If dining out we highly recommend The Bank Tapas and Life's A Beach restaurant, both an easy walk from the house. Will definitely be back!

Stayed Sep 11, 2021We stayed as a family of 5 plus dog in Marks beautiful property.The cottage was spotless clean and well decorated and the wrap around balcony was great in the evening for meals and people watching.The location is exceptional ,being only a few minutes walk to the town,, canal and beach.There was plenty of parking.Communication with Mark was great .Thank you

Stayed Apr 17, 2021This lovely house is ideally situated in Bude, near enough to walk to local attractions, the beaches, etc, but not central enough to be noisy. It was spotlessly clean and had ample space to accommodate three of us (will actually sleep five). Everything you can think of was provided and the only thing I could think of to improve the property (and this is only a personal preference as I am a light sleeper) is blackout curtains. I would have no hesitation in staying here again.
