Plum Island - Charming 2 BR Cottage by the Sea

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful beach house. The home itself was spotless, charming, and just a short walk from the beach — truly the perfect setting for a relaxing getaway. One of the unexpected delights was the great collection of books; my family and I loved having so many good reads to choose from during our downtime.Our host was exceptional — incredibly responsive and very accommodating when we needed to adjust our schedule. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily return. Highly recommended.

We had a terrific stay at Eleanor's cottage—excellent communication, spotlessly clean, well-equipped kitchen, lots of other amenities, comfy beds, and sheets. The artwork was fantastic.It was also great to be so close to Parker River Wildlife Refuge and Mad Martha's Cafe. For folks who want a leisurely exit, we recommend allowing sufficient planning for the towels to be washed, dried, and folded by check-out time. Highly recommend and we hope to return!

The house is very cute and quaint and everything was very clean. Host is attentive and friendly. The only issue is the view…the ocean can only be seen from the upstairs bedroom (a loft with no door). There are also very prominent electrical lines right next to the house which obscure the view. Not sure how they were able to take the pic of the house without the electrical lines.

The cottage is absolutely charming! Woke up every morning with a stunning view of the ocean. Everything was exactly as described. The cottage was super clean. The host was easy to communicate with and checked in regularly to make sure our stay was perfect. This sweet cottage on Plum Island is the ideal place to stay if you are looking to relax and unwind.

The house is across the street from the beach. You need to walk about a block down the street for beach access.Host is very responsive. House is very pleasant. Being senior citizens the stairs to 2nd floor are a little scary. Also a hand bar in the 1st floor bathroom tub might help.We enjoyed our stay.

Beautiful house, very clean, well and stylishly equipped house. We loved our stay and will try and find an excuse to come back for longer. We have stayed in houses across New England and this is the nicest

Unique property exuding warmth, sophistication, and class. Plum Island Cottage is true to photos and descriptions provided in the listing. The upper deck is spectacular and more appropriately described as an elegant semi-enclosed outdoor sitting room, conducive to conversation, relaxation, and enjoyment of the natural ocean canvas. Also of note, Eleanor (owner) was helpful and responsive to our inquiries. In summation, WOW! What a property!!

We all enjoyed our stay at the Plum Island Cottage. The view from the second level was beautiful, the host provided us everything we needed, and the stay (despite the rain) was pleasant and relaxing.Would happily recommend this place!

We loved everything about our stay. The beds were comfy, kitchen had everything we needed, nice view. Loved drinking our coffee on the roof top porch.

Great Stay! Very closely located to tremendous beach, and walking distance to town, great for families or getaway with friends.

We had such a lovely time at the cottage! We loved the neighborhood, closeness to the beach, comfort of the home, useful kitchen, private bathrooms, beautiful location and everything else it offers. Not one to be missed!

My family, once again, loved their stay here for a family gathering. The home is extremely comfortable, warm and welcoming; as is the wonderful host Eleanor. Eleanor is exceptional at communicating and is always available and responsive for any questions or needs. We can not speak highly enough about Eleanor and her home.

Totally loved this location!! The house is beautiful and clean. It’s very close to the beach. We enjoyed sitting on the beach even though it was January. Just down the road from Newburyport, we were able to enjoy a number of dinner reservations!! We’ll be back!!!

Nice cozy house

impressed w/this property - very clean, very quaint, and homey. lots of charm…decor was very nice. beds slept wonderfully. mgr, Eleanor, very helpful and thorough. girls here for a 65th bday trip - would definitely return! highly recommend Mad Martha’s for bfast! pumpkin pancakes in the fall. yum!

This home was wonderful for us as we traveled around the east coast. It was easy to find, great location, easy to enter. There were so many great aspects to this home. The outside raised patio was lovely. The beds were super comfortable. The access to the beach was quite easy. We really enjoyed the way this home was furnished.

We can't speak highly enough about Eleanor's home. It was super comfortable, spacious, clean & had fantastic views of both the ocean & marsh. Ideal location on Plum Island near the beach & restaurants/shops! Absolutely hope to return soon!

This was my second time here. The cottage has everything you need and then some! The host is great at communicating, and is always available if you have questions. I highly recommend.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this gem of a cottage on Plum Island. Clean, cozy, well-appointed and conveniently located to both island activities as well as to the shops & restaurants in Newburyport. Absolutely loved the covered area on the roof level .. enjoyed our coffee and our cocktails out there.

I have stayed here three times now. It is wonderful! My favorite part is sitting up on the roof deck. The sunsets over the inlet are gorgeous, and you can see the ocean out the other side. The house is beautiful with nice art and furnishings. And re: Plum Island - it is worth it to drive down to Sandy Point at least once, and definitely try the Sunset Clib!

We enjoyed a nice stay at beach. We were right on the line of off season so house didn’t exactly mirror online photos. Outside seating area and privacy was not as described but given what we were visiting for, it didn’t really bother us. Upstairs covered seating area had sofa with bite not to sit on. No chairs and light was missing — just a stray electrical cord hanging down. Otherwise there were some lounge chairs up on deck and a table / chairs downstairs below deck. Just not a covered area as shown. Outdoor fence is in bad need of repair but again did not affect us. It is not high enough to be considered a privacy fence as homes are very close to one another should you rent this property expecting privacy and we did not. Inside there is one downstairs guest room which was very nice and comfortable. Upstairs, a loft with another comfortable bed. This room, considered the suite, does not have a door or full privacy from below. House is quaint and decorated artsy. It is really an adorable home. Adequately stocked with comfortable furnishings. Eleanor was so kind and responsive. It’s very much suited for a couple or small family. Prior to checkout you will be required to do some housekeeping to complete your stay.
