2nd time staying here. Quiet neighborhood and short walk to the ocean. Very well stocked with everyday items. Easy check in and out. Would recommend!

Easy walk to beach and a restaurant. Lacking a dish washer though it was stated in the listing.

This property was perfect for my family. It is in the perfect location for spending time at the beach and making memories, and keeping us cool at night during this heat wave! Everything we needed was available. We are thinking of making this a yearly trip, and my kids won't want to stay anywhere other than this flamingo house!

The Funky Flamingo was a great place to stay. Great location and kitchen was furnished to prepare meals. Instructions were easy to follow Communication with the owner was great also. She was quick to respond. We hope to be able to stay again in the future.

The “Flamingo” is a great, cozy home just a block from the beach and Avalon pier! Immaculate and fun; highly recommend!!

This was our first trip to the OBX and we enjoyed staying at the Funky Flamingo! It looks tiny from the outside but we had plenty of room for the four in our family. The house was clean and the kitchen was adequately stocked for the cooking we did. The beds were comfortable, had good lighting and appreciated the ceiling fans. I also appreciated the water filter in the refrigerator, the water pressure in the shower and having a grill. The best feature was the close walk to the beach. Loved the area and how close it was to restaurants, shops and entertainment. The owner responded quickly to any messages sent and provided me great recommendations for our first trip. Cons: one bedroom does not have a window, the listing says there is a dishwasher and there is not, listing also says there was a blow dryer and there is not (I left mine at home for this reason), the glass on the back door was shattered and had a note on it not to use it-inconvenient when grilling dinner. Trash was not picked up on day posted. The listing and the check in/check out procedures need to be updated to adequately match the property. These are Small inconveniences but not a deal breaker. Would stay here again if the price stays reasonable. Thank you for a great stay at the Funky Flamingo!

Our family of 4 and 1 four legged family member loved our stay at the Funky Flamingo! The house was just the right size. The neighborhood was quiet and we were so close to the beach! The house was clean and stocked with what we needed. The owner was extremely nice and made sure we were happy, she was a delight to talk to and work with. We will be coming back to the Outer Banks and the Funky Flamingo will be on our list to stay in again!

Not getting 5 stars because the linens weren’t clean when we got there. The linen company failed to replace the box of towels and bed sheets, so we were up until 3am on the first night cleaning the bedding. The host was very responsive and brought us new bedding the next day. This wasn’t entirely the hosts fault, but it certainly was the lowest category of the stay.

House is in a great location. Our stay was wonderful. Property owner was responsive and helpful. The only thing I would change is an update to the outdoor shower area so there is privacy and warm water.

We planned a last-minute getaway; and we found a gem! This place is perfect for a family of 4. The best part is so much cleaner than a hotel!! Short walk to beach, shop and food. Almost a perfect 5 in all categories, but a 5-star overall!
