Stayed Oct 3, 2023Spent a week with my wife in Lynne's cottage. Although the cottage is small, we never felt cramped or uncomfortable. It is bright, well furnished, and cheerfully decorated. The cottage is located in a quiet, wooded area. It is only a short walk to Edgartown and the beach on Eel Pond.

Stayed Jun 17, 2023Beautiful cottage and setting. I do wish it was better equipped for those who choose to cook. There was only one usable knife to cut things and it was a steak knife which is a bit dangerous. Also, no oven. Nevertheless, we made due and had a lovely week.

Stayed Sep 23, 2022Great location, beautiful area, and wonderful hosts. The cottage is small and the kitchen is kind of sparse, but if you are looking for a place that is beautiful and an easy walk into Edgartown this will meet your needs.

Stayed Aug 10, 2019My husband and I just returned from a week spent in this charming cottage set amongst beautiful gardens. The location is perfect....within walking or biking distance to the bustle and charm of Edgartown, but nestled off a private road which affords quiet and peace. The cottage is light, airy and full of gorgeous antiques. The outdoor shower was the highlight every morning. The kitchenette afforded the opportunity for light meal preparation. Our hostesses, Rachel and Lynne, couldn't have been more gracious or accomadating. I have read reviews describing the difficulty walking through the grass to get to the cottage, but we found it not to be an issue at all...in fact, it was part of the allure! The cottage is set behind the main house and you must walk through the gardens to approach it....what a gorgeous path to this quaint cottage! We loved every minute of our escape there, and can't wait to visit again some day!

Stayed Jul 22, 2018The cottage is exactly as shown in the pictures. It is fairly new, well constructed, clean and charming. The outdoor shower is great. All amenities are as described except we found the small kitchenette only works if most food is cold or brought in from outside. The location is superb as it is a relatively short walk into Edgartown and near a conservation area that offers a delightful stroll through a property managed by the Sheriiff's Meadow Foundation. As mentioned, the cottage is on the property of a lovely private home. We second the review by Dana S in which she talks about the odd parking situation and the wet, ankle-deep grass through which one must walk each day to get to/from the cottage. The owners have an absolute gem that could be enhanced through some modest improvements.

Stayed Jun 24, 2018The cottage itself is absolutely adorable. The location is great and the bed is comfortable. Lynne and Rachel are kind and efficient. However, the parking situation is interesting. You must park outside the property fence in the sand/dirt area under some trees. The shade is nice, the dirt/sand in your car...not so much. The parking space is nearly a football field away from the cottage itself. There is a gravel drive and a lovely brick path to and around the main house garden to the side of the property. Then you must walk through ankle deep grass for approximately 20 yards to get to the cottage. This, too, would be fine except for the rain and irrigation which make grass clippings stick to your very wet shoes every time you come and go. Our first morning we were awakened by voices on the porch. The owner and a gardener were discussing the sprinkler issues. The gardener spent the next hour or so on the porch. Which would be ok, maintenance must happen, except there are no curtains. There are half shutters on the living area windows but you can see into the cottage from every window, including the porch. It was a slightly uncomfortable situation. There are room-darkening roman shades in the bedroom which are very nice. There is a washer-dryer in the bathroom. The kitchen has everything you need for quick meal prep, including a small fridge, microwave, hot plate, dishes and silverware and there is a nice grill out back. The landscaping and garden foliage is beautiful. The only thing I would suggest is making a path to the cottage itself. Sweeping grass out of the cottage each day and worrying about drying our shoes were our only real issues.
