Peaceful Garden Cottage, Close to Mt. Tabor Park & Downtown Bus

This little cottage is as private as a mother in law sweet can get. Sharing the little deck area with the back deck of the main house, it's quiet, peaceful, beautiful and a great place to get away from ask the noise and traffic while in Portland. The house was fully stocked with every amenity you could think of and plenty you can’t, and the hosts have just thought of everything. Very close to Mt. Tabor and in a beautiful, quiet, neighborhood, close to lots of of eateries & restaurants, why would you stay anywhere else?

This is a charming in-law unit. It’s so well-designed and it’s decorated and furnished attractively and efficiently. The unit had everything we needed. Access instructions were easy to follow. We especially appreciated the great climate system which warmed the unit quickly when we returned from a day out exploring in the rain.Absolutely loved it and would stay again!

It was an awesome stay Diane and Charley did everything to make us feel comfortable during our stay . And can I say they make the best granola ever ? Because they do. Not only that but you can really tell they love hosting people their house is adorned perfectly.

Exceptional cottage, beautiful vaulted ceilings, separate large bedroom with amazing skylights and light airy drapes, hardwood floors and a bathroom with a heated tile floor. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything you could possibly need from coffee to spices and honey. Hosts obviously take great care of this space. Absolutely would stay again.

My husband and I stayed here, hosting our adult son and his 5&7 yo sons for frequent visits. This space is a perfect size for everyone to gather around the table for board games, to eat meals together without the hassle and expense of restaurants, to cuddle together while watching tv, and for the kids to play imaginary games under the table while the adults visit. We’ll be back.

It’s a great place to stay. Very comfortable, in a quiet neighborhood and parking was always available. Loved that you could walk to several neighborhood shops for food and coffee. Easy access to the interstate as well. Highly recommend to visit Mt Tabor Park that is close by.

A truly peaceful, serene cottage, perched in the hills above Mt. Tabor Park. It’s perfect for one person, or having a reunion with a best friend. The hosts are wonderful. I’ve stayed here before and I most certainly will stay again.

Quiet neighborhood and no problem parking, easy to come and go, clean!

Excellent location in a quiet, welcoming neighborhood with nearby coffee shop, pizza place, and breweries. As cozy as pictured. Lovely garden cottage.

We enjoyed the quiet and garden-like setting of this space. The kitchen is fully equiped for cooking and baking, the bedroom and bathroom were comfortable, and the high ceilings gave it a spacious feel. Being able to walk to Mt Tabor Park was also a highlight, and we also liked the available street parking, the washer/drier unit, the AC unit, the easy check-out, and the sounds of squirrels playing on the roof. We slept well on the queen bed in the one bedroom and our teenage son slept well on the livingroom couch that folds down to a bed. Our other teenage son slept on the floor atop a foldable mattress that Diane loaned us - thank you! Note that this unit is not a stand-alone structure, but rather an addition attached to the back of the house that is occupied by the property owners.

Peaceful, comfortable, well-equipped, good location, easy parking, friendly hosts, good for our month-long stay. Would stay again.

We've stayed in probably 35 vacation rentals over the years, and this lovely place is one of our favorites! It's spacious and well laid out, with colorful, warm decor. The bed is so comfortable, with great linens. And that garden! The photos online can't fully capture its beauty. Diane and Charley are wonderful, friendly hosts. We were greeted with fresh flowers on the dining table, and warm homemade granola hand delivered. What more could you want?!

This is a fabulous property. Two things stand out: the peaceful, beautiful garden setting and the cleanliness of the cottage. Diane and Charlie were always available to assist if we needed it. However, we never really needed anything because it was perfect.

Everything was perfect. We had a wonderful time using this location as our base camp while exploring the area. Everything was provided for our needs. Bed is comfortable and the area is quiet. Hosts were VERY helpful when needed.

Diane was an amazing host. Her cottage was cute and clean, and we never felt like our privacy was being intruded on. The neighborhood was beautiful. We would definitely stay here again!

I have stayed in this lovely cottage several times and have always enjoyed the charm and comfort. It feels like my home away from home! I’m looking forward to my next visit.

Visiting Portland to visit family residing nearby. Cottage was a wonderful spot to relax and enjoy our family. The setup was exactly as advertised. We especially enjoyed the outdoor spaces and room to have game nights.

Hosts were friendly but not intrusive, accommodating and responsive. The cottage was just what we needed for post knee replacement surgery recovery--accessible, step-free. Courtyard garden was lush with backyard habitat (in winter, mind you) and whimsical with gnomes and other decorations. We plan to return after the next knee replacement.

My 83 year old mom is visiting. This is a perfect place. The vibe is cozy, safe, and super chill. The vaulted ceilings and skylights added to the retreat feel my mom kept commenting on. The bathroom is accessible with zero thresholds and plenty of support bars for my mom to feel secure. The listing is accurate, however, I think underrepresents what a wonderfully, sweet place this is. Better than expected in all the ways. Thank you, Diane, we will definitely be staying here again.

We've stayed in probably 30 different VRBO properties through the years, but both my wife and I would rate this No. 1 - at least for what we're looking for. It was peaceful, serene, in a quiet neighborhood, but still close to all the amenities. The garden out back is wonderful, and place is clean, updated, and interesting. We were even treated to a couple jars of homemade granola from our hosts, who were lovely! We'll be back. ...

We stayed three weeks in this lovely and well-appointed and very comfortable cottage. Our visit was planned to spend time with family and to explore Portland, and the location was perfect for our needs. We could easily get to our family on the Washington side of the river and to another branch in northwest Portland. And we enjoyed many walks to and around Mount Tabor—such a wonderful city park! The cottage is nicely private, spacious, and very well appointed. We were very comfortable there and highly recommend the Garden Cottage for people needing a great place to stay.

The cottage is a charming space filled with many captivating items within its walls, giving us a desire to better know the owners. It was thoughtfully supplied to meet all our needs and beyond - even a delicious homemade granola. This home in the Tabor Neighborhood further met our personal needs 1. to be near our daughter's home (only 7 blocks away) and 2. to be accessible for our son and his wheelchair. It is situated in the tranquil and enchanting garden behind the owner's home - such a lovely setting to sit with a cup of tea and drink in the peace & joy. The owners themselves, Diane & Charlie, were attentive, available, thoughtful, and a delight to meet. Thank you, Diane & Charlie, for our delightful stay.

We appreciated the ability to pop in and out with such a convenient location to explore Portland. There are eclectic details throughout, and the hosts have thought of all amenities you might need for your stay. The garden just outside the cottage door is lush and peaceful. We loved this property. The backyard garden setting was very serene. The cottage was comfortable, very well decorated and appointed (even many spices, coffee, tea, baggies, etc etc.) and good lighting and wifi. The hosts were extremely friendly and helpful. The hot tub was especially nice after long days hiking. Highly recommend.

This was a beautiful property and courtyard with all that I needed and lots of peace. I did not realize that the property is connected to the owners home rather than a standalone. This did not seem to make a difference because it was a very quiet setting. I hope To stay again
