Peaceful Cottage in Rural North Devon, near the Ocean

My family (including a small pug dog) stayed for a weekend here in April. The house was wonderful. Immaculate throughout and very spacious. It was still somewhat of a chill in the air so to get out of bed onto warm Flagstone with underfloor heating was a real treat. The owners are just nearby and incredibly helpful while at the same time being discreet if you do not wish to engage and focus on your holiday. Highly recommend this place. A real treat.

Lovely peaceful location, only a few minutes drive from Hartland. Nice and cosy with the underfloor heating. Owner was very helpful and welcoming. Just what we needed for visiting friends in the area. Thank you

Very quiet very peaceful, lovely walks for the dog. Reasonably easy to find, owners were very Pleasant and obliging. Easy parking, and nobody bothered us.

We had a lovely stay, Penny was very welcoming and the house was very well equipped with everything you might need: baking trays, cling film, cheese grater, anything you could think of! The stair gate was useful for our toddler who had a great time, especially feeding the chickens and eating the eggs they had laid! Thank you Penny for everything, I'm sure we will visit again in the future.

Lovely peacful stay, Penny very welcoming, all the facilities you need and more for a self catering break away, cottage lovely, cosy and warm. Very rural so car needed if you want to explore. Comfy beds and bedding. Only problem we had was lots of bluebottles in upstairs bedroom and didnt like stain around downstairs toilet on tiles, doesnt look nice.

Had a great stay and wished we could've stayed longer. Excellent communication from Penny and would recommend staying here to anyone :)

Penny the host very nice and told us about local sights to see and local Pubs with good food! Hartland point is wild and rustic also st nectams the church on way down to point is well worth a stop would definitely stay here again

We had a great stay in Hartland, spaceious house, friendly hosts. Our cats loved it too. Great Hikes along the coastal path.

We had a fantastic stay at The Shippen. The house is very comfortable and spacious, with a beautiful woodland garden.

Had a lovely relaxing week here, plenty of space. Everything you could.possibly need. Owner extremely welcoming and helpful. Although property is remote and is surrounded by lovey countryside, it is fairly central to many interesting and beautiful places to visit.
