Cove Beach Cottage is perched on a hill, with a beautiful view of the ocean. It overlooks Cove Beach, just a 3-minute walk away. Located between Cannon Beach and Manzanita, the cottage is surrounded by the old-growth forests of Oswald West State Park. Parts of the Oregon Islands National Wildlife Sanctuary are visible from the living room. Enjoy a BBQ or the sound of the ocean from the deck. Or watch shooting stars at night from the new 2023 Marquis 3-person hot tub located on the deck.

We have a maximum number of 4 adults and 2 children per stay. There is an extra charge of $50/night per guest above four - that is, for guest 5 and 6.

Cove Beach is one of the least-known beaches on the Northern Oregon Coast. Watch pelicans and cormorants from the living room window as they roost on Castle Rock, part of the Oregon Islands National Wildlife Sanctuary. During low tide, a vast sand beach is exposed at Cove Beach. It is common to have the entire two-mile beach to yourself a rare treat not only for Oregon, but for most of the world. During high tide, there is not much sand exposed, but you can drive one mile to Arch Cape Beach where there is always sand. Or, within 6 miles to the south, you can visit Manzanita Beach, a stretch of seven miles of beach.

Cove Cottage is comfortable and well equipped, with fireplace, 2023 Samsung 43 TV and Dobly Soundbar for your viewing and listening pleasure, and WIFI. It is simple, comfortable, and pleasant. The 1500 square foot cottage home features a panoramic ocean view, an expansive deck with BBQ and hot tub, a large great room, 3 bedrooms, and an upstairs/loft with spiral staircase, all new appliances, gorgeous wood floors, and an 1100 square foot deck made from sustainably harvested Red Balau Mahogany.

PLEASE NOTE - The second floor two small bedrooms (one with two twin beds and the other with a queen bed) are in a loft with a sloping roof, so very tall people may find it cumbersome. The upstairs bedrooms are without closets. The gambrel design of the cottage makes it unique and charming.

These 2nd floor bedrooms are accessible by a spiral staircase which some guests may find awkward--in particular carrying luggage or a child up the spiral stairs. Children under 8 years of age should not be allowed on the stairs unsupervised.

NOTE - Both bathrooms are downstairs. If these features would be limiting and uncomfortable for you or your guests, we suggest you find alternate accommodations.

Leisure activities include beachcombing, bird watching, tidal pooling, whale watching, wildlife viewing, and walks in the forest. In Manzanita and Cannon Beach, there are opportunities for horseback riding, golfing, sand dune walks, and scenic drives on 101. The coast further away has deep sea fishing, cycling, kayaking, mountain biking, surf fishing, tennis, windsurfing, and sand sailing.
Nearby within several miles are the communities of Cannon Beach and Manzanita, with coffee shops, restaurants, post office, and grocery stores. Downtown Manzanita offers shops, restaurants, cafes, a public library, tennis, and Manzanita Golf Course. Nehalem Bay is wonderful for Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP), kayaking, and fishing.
Adjacent to Oswald West State Park, several trails provide dramatic views of Cape Falcon Marine Reserve and the Cape’s wildlife. Enjoy Short Sands beach for beach walking, agate hunting, tide pooling, kayaking, scuba diving, surfing, and wildlife viewing.

Our vacation was amazing! The house was everything we could ask for and more. The hosts are so thoughtful in providing all the little things that you don't realize you need until you need them. We wanted for nothing. The view was breathtaking, the hot tub was fantastic! The beach was so much fun and the sunsets were out of this world. My only regret is that I only booked it for 5 nights :) Can't wait to go back. If you have an opportunity to rent this beautiful home I highly recommend that you do.

The house was so nice and comfortable. The view was phenomenal. Communication was easy, and they gave us so much good information for our stay. We appreciated the coffee and granola. We had everything we needed for a relaxing stay.

We have stayed here many times over the years; it is our favorite beach house on the Oregon Coast! You can't beat the view, the bed is super comfy, the stargazing incredible, love the fireplace!

So may things stood out about this stay. The hosts were communicative — not only providing a thick binder full of good information, but also providing information before our stay and during our stay. They even reached out when a winter weather advisory was issued for the area. The home was well stocked and very well labeled. It was easy to find things and figure out how to work things. There were loads of towels and even robes! We enjoyed our stay immensely!

Everything was great. We’ve stayed in many short term rentals and this one was incredible. The attention to their guests’ comfort was obvious from the detailed instructions before we arrived to the well stocked kitchen (and more appliances than we have at home! ) to the information about the area, the hot tub, the telescope… There is a nice path a block away that goes to the beach area. Then a very rocky area to the sand but walking sticks made it much easier to navigate. One thing that is important to know is that there is no Wi-Fi or cell service in the area until you get to the house. If you’re traveling with others make sure each party has the directions off line once you leave Manzanita or Cannon Beach. We highly recommend! Would love to come back.

We were so cozy with the fireplace and great view to watch the storms. We used the kitchen and the outdoor grill and were impressed with the amenities. My favorite was the hanging basket chair and view - both inside and out. No complaints. We will be back. Thank you!

The Cove Cottage was just as special as past guests had indicated in previous reviews. It is in an idyllic location perched above the beach and about a block from the shoreline providing a million-dollar panoramic view of Arch Cape and the goings on at the beach whether it be the waves, sand or the wildlife. It felt private and exclusive given the low traffic area where it is located. We were super impressed with the cleanliness of the cottage, and in awe of the fact that just about anything you would need to make your stay comfortable was already there for our use. The place felt as though it was clean literally to the standard that we keep our own home which was so amazing and allowed us to be at ease and comfortable right away. The hot tub was such a welcome amenity and once again, was spotless clean and the water crystal clear when we arrived. The ocean and sky views from the wrap-around deck and hot tub were so spectacular we did not want to leave! We talked among ourselves that the location is one of the top features of this home. That said, the brand new gas grill was perfect for a few of our dinners outside on the patio. When our stay came to an end we knew that we truly had found one of the Gem's of the Oregon Coast. Not a new modern hotel, but a place that felt like visiting the home of a friend. The hosts were exceptional and we had great communication with them up to and following our stay. If you are lucky enough to stay at Cove Cottage, you are very lucky!

This house was wonderful and very well equipped. The host was super responsive and provided quick answers to any questions. Everything worked! All instructions were accessible and detailed. One of our party very much enjoyed the hot tub every day and remarked how relaxing it was. Note that there are only restrooms downstairs so keep that in mind in terms of the two upstairs bedrooms. Tall people beware of the the lower ceilings upstairs. We just left our suitcases at the foot of the stairs instead of struggling to bring them up the spiral staircase which worked fine. Highly recommend!

Great view. Well stocked kitchen. Lots of clean, white towels. Good instructions and information on house. Path to beach was a little confusing and “cobbles” are large and can be treacherous. Could use an overall update. Beds not super comfortable, pilllows need replaced. Overall, we had a great time and it was very relaxing. The only thing not well communicated (until the actual booking process) was the large deposit required to finalize the booking. Originally stated as 300, it was actually 1800.

Our stay at Cove Cottage was perfection. The cottage itself was well equipped and impeccably clean. I'm not sure we've ever been more at home in a VRBO than we were here. The location couldn't have been better. We weren't more than 20 minutes in any direction from amazing hikes, beaches, and cute little towns. Coming back to the cottage, surrounded by the forest and steps from the beach was so relaxing after our days exploring. The beach itself was beautiful. We were lucky enough to get some lovely sunsets while we were here. Our kids loved finding sand dollars on the beach also! The hot tub was a nice way to relax too. We will absolutely be back. Thank you for a 10/10 vacation!

We booked four nights at this beautiful home. While it was between Manzanita and Arch Cape it was easy to find because of both great directions as well as our navigation. The home is exactly as the pictures indicated and there were no surprises...other than the free coffee and goodies the owners provided. Our weather was all rain and wind but that did not dampen our spirits. The view is amazing and the hottub is both wonderful and relatively private. We loved our time and would recommend it to everyone.

The coziest little beach house. We had it on an overcast rainy weekend and it was perfect, with a great ocean view from inside and hot tub to still get outside. Everything is well stocked and delivers on what you would need for a nice stay. We had a minor snafu when we first got there and John and Maria, the hosts, were so generous in helping provide a great experience. Their kindness gets 5 stars - we would love to stay here again.

My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary and vacation trip and it was just delightful! This was our second Oregon coast vacation we've done, and it was everything we were looking for and inspires us to come back again when we can. Details....we picked this particular area because we were interested in tide pools. This property is facing Cove Beach which a a lovely beach that's off the beaten path. The owner John was very helpful with giving us tide pool tips and directed us to the south end of cove beach where we found wonderful tide pool creatures - plenty of sea starts and green anemones. We did find the riprap hill we had to climb directly from the cottage to be steep even though access was very close. So advice for the less athletic, use the stairs a few blocks down at Richmond and Tide Rd where the riprap is flat. The cottage was incredibly well equipped - plenty of wonderful soft fluffy towels/robes for hot tub, a wonderfully equipped kitchen that my husband was able to easily cook some quesadillas in. There was a welcome package that included scrumptious Sleepy Monk coffee. The views of the stars were incredible - I haven't seen stars like that since I was a small child, I'd forgotten they even could look like that. We were able to spot the Milky Way! Also marvelous wood burning fireplace with clear instructions, and all the supplies we needed. And last but not least the views of the ocean are panoramic even from indoors!
