MONKTON LIBRARY COTTAGE

Tucked away among the curvy hillsides surrounding Burlington, this cozy cottage provides a clean and comfy “home away from home” while you explore this gorgeous area of rural VT. A chocolate store catty-corner from the house can tempt your sweet tooth, and alpacas just up the road make winsome neighbors as you admire the landscape.

Our visit was great. The property was immaculate and had everything we needed. The host was very helpful. The overall location was convenient and beautiful.

I was notified after being at the house for a little while that I was to use the heat pump and not the baseboard heater. Other than that everything was good. The house was very clean, the kitchen was well stocked, it was quite a cozy retreat.

The cottage was perfect for our first two nights in Vermont. It has everything you need for a comfortable stay. It was delightful to be across the street from a wonderful thrift store and next to a chocolate shop. Monkton was a nice location for day trips. We enjoyed the orchards, covered bridges, the Green Mountain loop and the beautiful Lincoln Peak Winery. I loved the spirit of the library that lives on in a bookshelf filled with books, something for everyone.

And the house was cozy and clean, checking in and checking out easy. Next time in the area, I would certainly stay here again.

Clean and comfy. Great communication with owner. FYI the bed linens for the pullout sofa were hard to find. (They're in the brown crates that act as side tables.)

The Monkton Library Cottage was appointed and located perfectly for our 3 week stay while visiting younger family members nearby. We were able to cook simple meals and had our own space to relax in peace. The grocery store and laundromat in nearby Hinesburg was easy to find and use. Our host, Nina, was available and very responsive. We'd stay at the Monkton Library Cottage again without hesitation.

The cottage is like staying in a home, not a typical rental. Comfortable furniture, bed and pillows, good linens and towels, and the most well-supplied kitchen I have seen in a rental. Everything is clean and maintained. Though just off a busy road, it is quiet in the house. Well-located for visiting nearby towns. Food not far away. I felt safe and enjoyed my stay.

This cozy cottage was the perfect getaway for us. The kitchen was well-stocked with cookware, dishes, and utensils for cooking our own meals. Everything is very new and in great condition, and the A/C worked well in the July heat. The location is perfect for enjoying nature, while still being a short drive from Burlington and lots of great food and drink options.

Comfortable and clean place, nice location, close to great biking, kayaking and Shelburne Museum. We really enjoyed our stay!

We had a flat tire our first morning at the cottage and several locals were very helpful in guiding us to where to get it repaired. The property manager was very responsive to questions. The cottage was very attractively decorated, the bed and sofa were very comfortable and the heating system worked very quickly.

We loved staying here, within walking distance of a thrift store and a chocolatier!

We loved staying at this cottage! Perfect for the two of us, while we visited our daughter who couldn’t come home for her Thanksgiving break from UVM. The furnishings, and decor were perfect and we were able to come back at the end of the day to a warm and cozy place!! We will definitely return!

My wife and I had our honeymoon in Vermont and stayed at thjs quaint cottage. It was the perfect getaway for the two of us. The cottage was very nice and communication with the owner was easy.
