Bakersville, North Carolina
This is an upgraded 70-year-old farmhouse on 2 acres of land for those who want “country living”
1. You can see/hear trains (about 2-3x night/day) as well as the North Toe River.
2. Pets are allowed, so if you have any allergies keep this in mind.
3. My internet is limited to 100 GB per month. Ok for cell phone/ internet but not available for any type of Streaming.
The space
This is a 3 bedroom/1 bath cottage and is a true escape from city life. I recommend our cottage to anyone who wants a nice relaxing, secluded getaway.
I do have over 100 VHS/DVDs library and a few 32-inch TVs that you can watch at the cottage! I also have a 33 1/3 record player to play old-time music, albums, etc.
I allow pets, but you are responsible to clean up after them meaning no fur, odors, or messes. I have a vacuum, Swiffer, and a mop for your convenience.
Smoking is prohibited inside.
**Things to know when Confirming bookings**
1. You must keep the gate closed at all times so that no one can come in.
2. I charge only $89 for a cottage for 6 people with $0 cleaning fee so before you leave, please:
A) Clean pet fur/messes
B) Wash and put away used dishes, pans, etc.
C) Wash & dry all the bed sheets & towels that you used. Fold bed sheets and leave on designated beds. Fold towels and put in towel cabinet by the bathroom.
D) Since I cannot have trash service because of my location outside of city limits, please get rid of all your trash by bringing it to “Bakersville Trash and Recycling Center”, just north of Bakersville on your right on Hwy 226 N, on the way to Spruce Pine.
E) Please text pictures upon your departure so we can ensure the house is suitable for the next guest’s arrival.
So, if these items are not issues, welcome!
I hope you enjoy and please treat my cottage like it was yours.
Guest access
I own roughly 2 acres around my cottage including an old tobacco barn and a shed by the railroad. The rest of the farm around me is owned by my neighbors. I do not have river access, so please do not use the road beyond the train tracks as it belongs to my neighbor.
