Lavender Cottage is ideally located in the picturesque village of Burley, within the New Forest National Park. It is the perfect base for exploring the local countryside by foot or bicycle, enjoying the beaches of Highcliffe and Mudeford less than 15 minutes away by car and visiting the local market town of Ringwood or the larger cities of Bournemouth and Southampton. Ponies and cattle roam around the village and frequently pass by the cottage.

The cottage is within very short walking distance of Burley's amenities including a choice of pubs, tea rooms, the village shop, a sweet emporium, stores selling locally produced fudge and cider, a beauty salon, a spa, a place to hire bicycles for all ages and gift shops, including one dedicated to Burley's long history of witchcraft. You will be able to learn more about this history, admire the many thatched cottages, spot herds of deer, attend the regular village events and craft fairs, visit the site of an Iron Age hill fort and look out at Burley Beacon, the supposed site of a dragon's lair.

Lavender Cottage sleeps six with two double bedrooms, both with views of the forest, and a twin bedroom all on the first floor, which also includes the bathroom with a bath/shower. The ground floor contains a work area with desk, a cloakroom and a living room with Smart TV, DVD player, with a range of DVDs and a selection of board games. There is also an open-plan dining/kitchen area with a fridge-freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, induction hob, gas-fuelled Aga and combination microwave/oven.

Patio doors lead out of the open-plan area onto a large outdoor patio space containing garden furniture and a dining table with chairs and lawn with a trampoline (used at guests' risk) and a summer house available for storage. There is parking for up to three cars on the driveway.

All bedding and towels are included, except beach towels.

WiFi is generally very good but subject to local weather conditions.

Pets are welcome and dogs will be warmly greeted in many of the local pubs.

Right in the Forest with lots to do and see. Loved the horses passing the door. Local shops a short walk away. Was ideal for our dog with lots of local walks.

The property was very nicely equipped and in a good location. The garden we felt was in need of a little love but inside, the cottage was very cosy and welcoming. We found the back door lock to be tricky ! The stairs felt a little hazardous.

Lovely location so we could walk into the village for lunch and ice cream and the ponies walked past every day. Only downside was the driveway as I had to reverse onto it and the road is fairly busy and near a bend. If the end of the driveway was a little wider it would help to get on and off easier. Lovely spacious house, good sized bedrooms and fab garden with lots of comfy furniture. Best equipped kitchen for cooking. Loved staying here.

Lavendar cottage is very easy walking distance to all pubs, The Cedar Pantry and coffee shops/cafes in Burley. It's right opposite lovely forest walks too. The cottage is very comfortable and well equipped. We would definitely come again.

We had a lovely few days in the cottage, which was bigger than expected. The downstairs was spacious, living room comfortable and there was plenty of games, dvds and books. Beds were comfy. The kitchen was well equipped and we really enjoyed cooking on the Aga (surprisingly easy!) though there is a separate hob and combi oven/microwave too. The Aga made the cottage really toasty, to the extent we had to turn the heating right down. Apparently in the summer it can be set to low so it isn’t too hot. Burley is a lovely little village and the local store with butchers is well stocked. You are in the Forest and we saw lots of ponies in the wooded area opposite the cottage. It is in a great spot and you can walk straight through the trees up to the open Forest area. You can also get to the coast and Mudeford Quay in about 20 minutes. Well recommended.
