Lake Þingvellir Cottage

Everything as expected - Northern Lights included. Location is great for various excursions.Everything works and is in plce. Very responsive landlord.So 100% all good!

My second time staying here. A cosy, well-appointed cabin with great views of the lake and mountains. Easy to find. Exceptionally clean and great comms with the owner.

Very scenic, convenient and comfortable. We particularly enjoyed the living room and the heated floors in the bathroom. Hergill was very kind to us throughout our stay and we felt safe especially during a very severe rain and wind storm that would have been impossible t9 drive in. Overall, awesome stay!

Loved our stay

On our mother-daughter trip to Iceland we had a fabulous time at Lake Pingvellir cottage. The pictures don't do it justice, the setting is spectacular, the house is well appointed, so cozy we barely wanted to leave, the furniture is good quality, stylish and very comfortable. The hosts were incredibly accomadating and helpful in every way possible - we had many questions and even a snafu with being stuck in another development. I am already planning a return trip to Iceland and a stay at Pingvellir cottage will be first stop on the list.

The cabin was a perfect home base for us as we explored the golden circle and southern Iceland. We traveled with our family of 4 (kids aged 13 and 15). We appreciated the three bedrooms, good WiFi, and beautiful view. We used the grill several times and appreciated the well stocked kitchen as it made eating in much easier! Hargrill was a great host - he was responsive and so kind to check on us given the volcanic eruption during our stay.

Can’t fault the stay. Great location, lovely property. Very good communication with the host. Will stay again!

Cosy and calm cottage with panorama view. Close to the Pingvellir national park for hiking. Also a great base to reach the attractions of the golden circle, the south coast or the Reykjanes peninsula. We very much enjoyed our stay.

We had a wonderful & memorable 3 night stay at Hergill's cottage. Hergill is a wonderful host and was very responsive to all our needs. The cottage is well equipped with 3 bedrooms and spacious beds to comfortably accommodate our family of 4. The decor is very tastefully done with nice windows that overlook the beautiful Thingvellir lake. The temperature in the rooms was perfect and can be regulated through an air unit. The kitchen and bathroom are functional and well stocked. The Internet is fast and accessible. We loved the fact that the charge was so centrally located- all the must see locations such as Geysir, Gulfoss,Thingvellir & Kerrid are a short drive away and the Southern Coast is also not too far off. In short, we had a great time at the cottage and would love to come back. Highly recommended.
