HUGE! Belize Vacation Lodge, 1 to 6 Private Cottages Plus Fully Equipped Kitchen

We recently traveled to Punta Gorda with our two young children and had an wonderful stay at the Hickatee. The off-grid property is not far from town but feels like a peaceful retreat in the jungle. We loved hearing howler monkeys! The grounds include a jungle path where you can explore and look for wildlife, a small splashing pool the kids loved, and a relaxing sitting area nearby. You also have access to the main house where you can cook for yourself, make coffee, use the fridge, relax and play games. The cottages were charming and comfortable. There’s no air conditioning, but we didn’t miss it. The only small issue we had was regulating the water temperature in the shower.Our host, Allison, was fantastic. Before we arrived, she helped us arrange all of our tours, which made planning so much easier. Once we arrived, she kept us updated about the tours. Her communication made everything feel effortless. One of the highlights of staying at the Hickatee is access to the butterfly farm. It’s a fascinating experience where you can learn about the life cycle and business of butterflies. We also opted for the meal plan and are so glad we did. Allison is a wonderful cook and went above and beyond to accommodate our family’s food allergies and intolerances. I never had to worry about reactions, and honestly, I haven’t eaten that well in a long time.Hickatee felt like a home away from home. Highly recommend!

Our stay at Hikatee Cottages in Toledo, Belize, was pure magic—a true slice of paradise! One unforgettable moment was spotting the rare and exquisite black orchid, Belize’s national flower—a breathtaking experience for any nature lover. Its secluded location, a bit out of the way, only added to its charm. We cherished the peacefulness and sense of privacy that came with being tucked away in such a serene, natural setting.The cottages were thoughtfully designed with cozy beds for restful nights. Allison, the amazing host, greeted us with fresh-cut flowers in each room, a gesture that made us feel so welcome. The main house featured a full-service kitchen, perfect for preparing meals.The grounds are a haven for serenity.With stunning artwork, a tranquil bar area, and Allison’s warmth and attentiveness, Hikatee Cottages far exceeded our expectations. It’s a must-visit for anyone seeking a peaceful, eco-conscious getaway. We can’t wait to return to this enchanting retreat!
