My place is close to historic attractions & quaint towns! So, a perfect opportunity to escape and unwind from city life on a beautiful & historic 250 acre estate. Our historic 200 year old bungalow comfortably fits 3 people & is perfect for those who just want to take a step back and enjoy nature.

Visit a variety of great vineyards. You are only 20 min away from the home of President Jefferson's Monticello and from the home of President James Madison's Montpelier. We are 40 minutes from Shenandoah National Park.

The structure and its architecture represent that time period

We are in the country and these are old cottages, we seasonally have lady bugs, stink bugs and wasps. We do everything to prevent them coming in the cottage. We do not give refunds however we will do our best to make your stay good.

The architecture in that period dictate that steep and stairs can be somewhat narrow and steep.
However, we have made some accommodation that you could sleep downstairs also. (As per photos) We do not give refunds however we will do our best to make your stay good.

Pros: the area and property is beautiful, with nice amenities. Hosts sent detailed information before check-in with driving directions and instructions. Conveniently located for visiting Charlottesville and Monticello. The property and area has some very interesting history, we recommend reading about it.Cons: the cottage we stayed in was quite small, with low doorways and a tricky staircase. We would not recommend this to anyone who might have trouble climbing steep and narrow stairs. There are no actual bedrooms with doors - upstairs is a loft/attic area (very low ceiling/roof line) with two beds, downstairs there is a sitting room with a daybed and trundle bed under it. You have to walk through the sitting room to reach the bathroom, which we did not find terribly convenient.Overall, we appreciated the location, amenities, and price, but struggled with some comfort-related aspects of the cottage.

This property is located on an historic farm. We enjoyed experiencing a bit of history with all the modern amenities. The hosts are nearby and very welcoming and responsive. Easy access to wineries and UVA.

A unique property with charming hosts, beautiful outdoor spaces, and spa. Close to vineyards and shops yet, peacefully rural.

We were down for a couple of days, planned on walking to the creek and spending most of our time in the pool. There was nothing in the house to show us where the trails were. I messaged the owners, and were given unclear directions, hours later the owner gave us clear direction and we headed off. There were no trails. Everything is so overgrown you can see a path or trail. The grasses in the field you needed to cross were over 2ft high. There’s a lovely picnic bench that we also couldn’t enjoy as the grass had grown up past the seats. There are very clear rules about not inviting people who are not staying on the property to the pool (which I greatly appreciated). But the owners allow their neighbors and children to swim when they want to. One neighbor made a comment that the children were used to having the pool to themselves and were too shy to come swim. He then changed into his swim trunks poolside behind the filter/pump. One child was at the pool when he LEFT the child there, maybe 8-9 years old. So we chose NOT to leave the pool until there was an adult w him. We also had a power outage when we arrived, we were told that it’d be after dark before power was restored and asked if we had candles (we didn’t). we were literally sitting in the dark, never got the candles. The owners asked for more details re: the pool incident, I provided them and never heard from them again.

Host was quick to solve any problems within the home. Virginia had gotten a lot of rain making it impossible for them to get the grass all cut, therefore the grounds looked overgrown, and you couldn't help tracking grass into the cottage. Setting is great and real peaceful. Located with 2 miles of stores and restaurants.Pool kept the kids busy, and they loved making smores at the fire ring and picnic table area. The stairs to upper bedrooms is very steep and not recommended for elderly or someone with mobility issues. Room sizes on upper level are decent. The only bathroom is located on lower level and has to be accessed through the bedroom. The bedroom on lower level only has a twin trundle bed with mattress needing replaced. Couch in living room was uncomfortable. The cottage is very unique and was very clean. I made a suggestion to the lady who was property sitting that they might want to replace the trundle bed on lower floor with a regular full or queen bed, as the room is plenty big enough for one. Should they replace the bed with a bigger bed it would make it perfect for someone with mobility issues. My family would stay again and love to see the place when everything is cleaned up on the grounds.

We drove several hours to this “pet friendly” location only to find that it was double booked. There was a dog and clothes all over the cottage we were supposed to be staying in. I called the owner and they seemed very confused and unorganized. Another group was there and they said they had to move cabins midweek because of booking issues. I had to scramble to find other accommodation that would allow pets at the last minute. I had called and given an ETA and everything seemed fine until we arrived and had no place to stay. Kim was apologetic and offered 25% off our next stay, but that won’t happen. We eventually booked a lovely spot in Charlottesville that was amazing

It was a privilege to stay at such an historic property. I am thankful that Kim and Nico continue to preserve the beautiful house and necessary buildings for all to enjoy. We were given complete access to the farm and hiked all over it.

Cute cozy cottage. Relatively clean. We were able to walk over the pool area and enjoy a drink before dinner. We had some issues with the microwave triggering the breakers. Annoying but the owners came right over to fix. They were very responsive to all questions.

The property was amazingly beautiful and quintessential southern farm. Dirt drive lined by trees provided the perfect welcome. Very comfortable cozy cabin provided the best night sleep. Oh and the welcoming committee were the friendliest kitties. Thank you so much and will definitely return for a longer stay.

This little cottage was perfect! It was built in 1772 but was very comfortable for modern day 2024 with its colonial charm. The hosts supplied comforts such as coffee and creamer. We drank our coffee in the rose garden and also wandered out to sit by the pool in the morning. We would definitely stay here, again!

It was a wonderful stay on a beautiful property. This property is very relaxing and peaceful. The kitties and spaniel who live on the farm make friends with guests right away and bring such charm as the farm’s little mascots. Such a wonderful and relaxing experience.

We found this wonderful property on the random and it did not disappoint. In fact, as history buffs, this place and the region blew us away with historical significance! The property is on a beautiful 200 acre farm- we enjoyed the horses, walking the property, and wonderful pool, and the very friendly and accommodating owners- Kim and Nico. The cottage was quaint, cozy and comfortable. It does have narrow staircase and low attic ceiling and doorframes, consistent with properties of the 1700's. But we absolutely loved it and would definitely return!

The property is a beautiful historic setting. It was peaceful and serene yet still close to restaurants, gas station and more. Understand the cottage is truly historic with steep stairs to the second floor and low door frames. Nico and Kim were easy to communicate with and were great hosts. If we make it back to Virginia we would absolutely visit again.
