Absolutely beautiful home! The indoor and outdoor space was wonderful. Every room was well appointed and felt like home. The area is gorgeous and so serene. Waking up to peaceful views and sounds was what we needed. My husband and I will definitely be back!

We had an amazing stay at this mountain house! The home was spotless, well-maintained, and thoughtfully stocked with everything we needed for a comfortable getaway. The views were absolutely stunning—perfect for morning coffee and relaxing evenings. The location was ideal: peaceful and secluded, yet close enough to hiking, dining, and local attractions. The host was responsive, friendly, and made check-in and check-out effortless. This place truly felt like a home away from home, and we would absolutely stay here again. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a relaxing mountain escape!

Beautiful home that is nicely decorated and well appointed. I would not recommend for small children. Space is limited but works with the outdoor space for a bit of distance when needed. Will stay again. Thank you!!

What an amazing little cottage, feels like home!

We had a truly wonderful stay at this beautiful home! It was one of the most well-stocked rental homes we’ve ever stayed in and had seasonings and cooking supplies on hand, hiking gear, tons of magazines to read by the fire on the evenings, I could go on and on. The location was perfectly situated close to town but in a residential area that still feels remote and private. The hosts were very responsive and accommodating, too. This is already on our list to return to next year!

The cottage provided a warm and comfortable environment that perfectly accommodated our group of four. The designated outdoor areas were thoughtfully arranged, contributing to a sense of spaciousness beyond initial expectations. Its location was highly convenient, situated approximately one mile from key attractions and amenities.

We’ve been to Highlands several times & Dogwood Cottage is one of our favs! It oozes charm, the location is outstanding & the decor is next level (gave me some decorating inspo). Highly recommend:)

Chris and Joy's home is everything you would want and expect for a wonderful stay in Highlands. Proximity to main street, clean, well stocked with everything you need. Lovely back yard and covered sitting area. Would definitely stay again in the future.

This was the most wonderful place. We have very limited experience with renting houses, and this was a very good experience!! The house was very clean, well-appointed, and very nicely decorated. It was close to town and convenient to stores and restaurants. Any questions we had during our stay were immediately answered by the host. We VERY MUCH enjoyed the outdoor fireplace on the back porch. We will definitely return to this house to experience all the seasonal changes!! A 5-star visit!!

Pros: Location is an easy drive into town. And less than a 2 mile walk. Quiet an quirky neighborhood and friendly neighbors. Great roads to walk our dog. Accommodations: Beautifully decorated with modern amenities. Fully stocked kitchen and luxury spa toiletries in the bathrooms. The furniture is very comfortable. Chris and Joy have a made a beautiful cottage for their guests to enjoy. Cons: Can't think of anything. We highly recommend their Dogwood Cottage to folks traveling to Highlands, NC. Thanks for a wonderful visit!

Great place to enjoy the fall weather with inside and outside fireplaces. Cozy, comfy, and beautifully appointed. Everything we needed was provided. Would love to return.

We had our eye on this cottage for over a year/in our saved box of places to stay in the future. So glad we booked for the hot summer to visit. What a great getaway. Perfect in every way. Quiet; clean; super neighborhood to take walks and close to town and restaurants. See you again next summer!

This property is a lovely place to stay. It is decorated so pretty and is super clean and well stocked.... the porches are the best to have your morning cup of coffee or your early evening glass of wine listening to the birds sing!Very relaxing and peaceful!

We loved this cottage for our family on Mother's Day. It was a rainy weekend in Highlands but we enjoyed the cozy fires both inside and out! Highly recommend and loved the aesthetic of the space/

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the cottage. It was perfect for us and the proximity to Highlands and recreation areas was great. We will be back!

The hosts made the process so seamless and even accomodated and early xheck in request last minute. The home looks even better than shown in the pictures. It was so cozy, beautifully decorated and the indoor fireplace was our favorite. The short drive to town made the trip even better! We will definitely be coming back again, they literally thought of everything!

We’ve stayed at a lot of rentals in Highlands and this one is in the top 3. Everything we needed for our family and it has a perfect set up for our dogs. We will definitely be back. I hate it we had to leave early.
