We had the most amazing stay in High Rigg Shepherd's retreat. It was exactly as it looked in the pictures, lovely and clean, fantastic facilities, plenty of hot water and great communication from the owners. The hut was lovely and warm and the fire was a delightful treat. The shepherds pie which was left for us in the fridge with a bottle of fizz for our arrival was absolutely delicious and a real treat - thank you Brenda and David! We also loved evenings in the hot tub which was always hot and well maintained. The surrounding areas are also beautiful. We went to Talkin Tarn country park just a 10 minute drive down the road and had a lovely walk around the lake. We then went to the Duke of Cumberland pub in Castle Carrock on our way back for lunch. It was a beautiful pub with lovely food - highly recommend! We loved waking up in the mornings at the hut and looking out onto the fields to see the sheep wondering around. It really is a stunning place and gorgeous and quiet. We had the best time and will definitely be back same time next year - we want to make it a Christmas tradition! Thanks again Brenda and David.
