Located in the quiet rural hamlet of Tredinnick is Forge Cottage, a 200 years old quirky and spacious cottage, full of character serving as an excellent base with which to explore the nearby coast and beaches. Padstow and Wadebridge, with their excellent restaurants and shops and the beautiful sandy beaches of the seven bays are just a short drive away. The cottage is also close to the main routes through Cornwall, meaning access to the rest of the county, such as the Eden Project, St Ives and Newquay, is quick and easy.

Arriving at Forge Cottage, the white walls against the sky blue windows really highlights this historic cottage in the little village. Being such an older property, it does have many characterful quirks, with exposed beams, large fire place with log-burner and low level small paned windows set in the substantial stone walls. With the fire lit, the living room is a cosy den in which to rest those legs on an evening, in addition to TV to aid in the relaxation.

The kitchen shares a space with the dining table and seating for 4, the kitchen fully equipped should you wish to cook up a feast. There are many cuisines should you wish to have delivered, but while you're here you'd do well to frequent the many restaurants and cafés in and around the surrounding areas!

When you're ready to rest your head, heading upstairs the master bedroom with SUPER KING Sized bed is inviting, while the other bedroom has two single beds. In addition to the bathroom with shower, bath and w/c, and additional w/c downstairs.

Outside, the gardens are enclosed for any of those wishing to bring their furry family, in addition to outdoor furniture should you wish to dine al fresco!

The surrounding area gives opportunity for accessing many popular pursuits including eating out, wine tasting, cycling and surfing. The Camel Estuary provides a range of water sports, as well as a variety of boat trips such as fishing excursions, speedboat rides and sea-life safaris. The coastal path and Camel trail offers walkers and cyclists magnificent views of cliffs and sea, all in all, making Forge Cottage a great base from wish to do a multitude of things in your visit to Cornwall.

    - Great location - so much to do in the area but located in a quiet and picturesque village - Good secure and spacious garden for dog and lots of space downstairs for dog to be comfortable inside - Thoughtful touches included eg sellotape, cling film etc. - Damp is a problem eg mould on inside of bathroom curtains - No WiFi was an issue as general connectivity in the area is poor - Too many signs in the property saying what you couldn’t do. Virtually every room had signs on the walls - not very welcoming. Let guests use their common sense! - I raised an issue on Day 1 that a range of bulbs needed replacing. These were not rectified during our stay.

Very nice cottage in a central location for the northern beaches. Plenty of room (for two people). Good value for a May holiday. Very thick walls meant a cool cottage from the hot sun. Please consider the following two subjects: The saucepans with the worn out non-stick surfaces should be replaced. More importantly. Particularly for us older people. There was no hand hold or proper round bannister to grip at the top of the stairs.

A character full properly in a peaceful location. Plenty of great day trips with in 30 mins drive from cottage. Definitely not clean enough! Lots of pet hair. Stained beds. We found the previous guests clothes in draws. Our 3 year old found loose sewing pins in a draw. The information folder was a tatty mess with contradictions. Poor kitchen equipment, rusty oven trays and chipped crockery. This property could be so much better. Cleanliness Kitchen equipment and organising the kitchen Information folder

The location was quiet yet super close to the local beauty spots, cafes, pubs etc. A beautiful period cottage.

This is the third time we have stayed at Forge Cottage. The location for us was ideal, slightly off the beaten track but within walking distance of the pub in St Isley and only a short drive to either Padstow or Wadebridge. A very quiet and pleasant location ..with a parking space!! We hope to return again!!.....and again!! Pleasethe cottage instructions to reflect the current information ( i.e DVD instructions and refuse collection details etc

The cottage is very authentic, historically old, but well renovated and modernized it has everything you need even a washing machine, dishwasher, etc. and the hot water system worked smoothly. We didn't heatlight the fire. It is very pretty and comfortably furnished and offers plenty of space our dog particularly liked the garden behind the house the property is surrounded by a wall so that you can leave the dog outside unattended. The location is rural and quiet you definitely need your own car. The beautiful coast and Padstow can be reached in 15-20 minutes by car. There was no WiFi and the internet connection in the tiny village was very poor. This is a serious negative point these days. It's just part of it now. The location is a bit out of the way and the nearest supermarket is a 15-minute drive away. The immediate area is heavily used for agriculture, including wind turbines 1 km away. Unfortunately, the somewhat isolated, rural location does not have the advantage that dog owners can find beautiful, idyllic walking paths right on their doorstep - unfortunately, there are none! Only asphalt roads without sidewalks and field paths closed off with gates that you can't walk on and that aren't particularly attractive either. So the location was disappointing for us we had imagined the nature there to be more pristine and accessible. When the tenant arrives, he is greeted by a thick folder with hundreds of instructions about what he can and must do and what he cannot do, where disasters are imminent and what to do in emergencies - this is certainly well-intentioned, but it is downright intimidating. Everything worked well, not everything straight away, but ultimately there wasn't too much to consider and adjust. A streamlining of this lavish instruction file would have a relaxing effect on the newcomer :-)

Will definitely come back to the cottage. Walking the dogs around every morning talking to the locals who are really nice. Kids loved saying morning to the horses every morning. Very quite 20min drive to beaches pubs and restaurants.

We loved the cottage from the very start. It was like in the pictures on the website. Felt glides under the chairs in the kitchen and maybe a new fryingpan.

The house is very cozy and has some gorgeous character features. It has a lovely outdoor space to relax when the weather is good and the property is not overlooked. The 2 bedrooms are generous and comfortable to sleep.
