Enjoy incredible sunsets!

This is our second stay at Chestnut Oaks & we will be back. The back porch is our favorite place. It’s so quiet & peaceful. It feels like you’re in a treehouse. We relaxed after going to see the waterfalls at DeSoto State Park & Little River Canyon. The cottage was very clean & the bed in the master bedroom is very comfortable. Susan is a great host! Fantastic cabin in a beautiful location. Booking, check-in, and check-out processes were the smoothest I've ever experienced for this kind of accommodation. Communication with the host was easy and responses were received quickly. Highly recommend!

Lovely place! A few notes.-Beds are very nice--definitely not just old beds that they threw in there -Bring your own laundry detergent-The view makes the whole place worth it-The area is a bit remote, so we decided not to go out after dark (just so that we didn't have to worry about finding our way back)-Air conditioner works great, we had good cell signal, it's away from civilization so the wifi is understandably slow-If there's any special kitchen tools you like, bring them. They have basics. -Tap water tastes okay and the ice machine works well. -We liked that it had plenty of towels. -Very clean, you don't need to worry about this. Thanks for a great stay!

This cabin was perfect for a spur of the moment wedding anniversary trip! Everything was very clean and cozy. The sunsets were amazing! Everythin was exactly as described! We look forward to staying here again!

Our stay was beautiful. We enjoyed the view and amazing sunsets. The beds were comfortable and everything was so clean. The only TV was dish network, but we played cards and enjoyed ourselves. The internet is spotty and we had to go on the porch to make phone calls. That was fine with us!

It was a beautiful stay. Nicely located close to everything. My only caveats are the lack of door locks and bad, bad shower heads. A large glass pane covers the top half of the door. It did not make us feel entirely safe at night. There was only one dead-bolt on the door. No other means of securing the doors from inside for the night. The showers would be so nice with hand-held spray heads installed.

Always clean and welcoming! Kitchen is well stocked and the beds are still very comfy. A/C and heat work great and the location is quiet. Loved the sunsets from the deck, hikes at Little River, and food in town!

The property was immaculate and very clean. The view was astonishingly beautiful!

House was immaculate,beds were comfortable and we had everything we needed during our stay. Enjoyed the gas logs for warmth without having to build a fire.First 2 days were very cold so we didn’t get to spend much time on the porch but did get to see the Aurora Borealis that occurred while there.Only disappointment was many of the shops and restaurants were closed during the week.

We really enjoyed our house. It was filled with all possible supplies and amenities. It was comfortable. The view of the mountains was spectacular and it was close enough to Mentone to eat and shop. It was private and quiet and even saw some wildlife. Close to DeSito Falls and Park. I would definitely rent this house again!

This was the second time we stayed at this property and it was better than the first time as we knew exactly what to expect. The house is situated in the State Park such that it's easy to get to many of the park nature sites. It has become our go to property when we want to go to the mountains.

As advertised! Peaceful, serine, tranquil stay with a beautiful view off of the brow. Close to downtown Mentone, DeSoto Falls and Little River Canyon. We've stayed in properties before and this one is top notch. We had some issues arise and the host was very understanding and willing to work with us. Ten star host. Reserve a weekend, you'll be glad you did. Thank you!

The cabin met all of our needs. Loved the porch and rocking chairs.

Location was great overlooking the valley and seeing some wildlife, very quiet neighborhood. Definitely would stay here again.

The house was comfortable and quiet. Pretty much everything we needed was supplied. As nice as the house was my favorite part was the porch. There is nothing more calming to me than to sit in a rocking chair and watch the sunset.

Not a bad thing to say about this cabin. House was clean. Had everything we needed. Loved the porch. Check in was a breeze and we were even allowed to check in early since we got in town a couple of hours early. We spent time at DeSoto Falls and hiked some trails around the State Park. Mentone is such a great little town. Would stay here again.

This was our second stay at this cabin…as before, it is very clean, has a beautiful view, is conveniently located, and very comfy…the beds are comfortable & the kitchen has what you need…we are 2 women 60 so we love that it’s one floor and close to everything we wanted to visit…I do have 2 suggestions to improve the property…one is to provide a keurig coffee machine…I’m sure other guests would love it as well…the other is to update the television to provide something other than Dish reception…the first night, there were terrible storms & our area was under a tornado warning…we could not get a local channel at all so we were clueless as to what the weather was doing in our area…we eventually lost television reception & spent some time in the hall bathroom because we were unsure exactly what was headed our way…these suggestions are not a criticism—just ways that improvements could be made on a nearly perfect property…thank you for letting us share this beautiful spot…hopefully we’ll return in the future.

This cabin is awesome! It is immaculate and well laid out with two bedrooms and two baths. There is a great porch overlooking the valley. Though our intention was to visit Mentone and De Soto State Park, we did neither, instead staying at the cabin and enjoying the solitude and scenery. We will definitely stay here again when we're in the area.

My husband and I have stayed at this property numerous times. As I grew up in area, it’s such a familiar place for me. The cabin perfectly clean and plenty of items for our stay. We love staying here and our family come to visit just love it! Thank you for such a wonderful place for us to stay at my hometown area!

Cabin as so cozy and well equipped. We had a lovely stay with our family. Scenery off the wrap around porch was awesone!. A visit to DeSoto Falls was well worth the trip!I want to go back!

The location of this property is perfect! You cant get a better view anywhere! The home was welcoming, cozy and fully stocked for all our needs. We would have enjoyed relaxing on the porch much more if the weather had not turned so cold, but inside was the perfect temp. There are lots to see and do outdoors nearby. The host was very responsive when I reached out with questions. We look forward to returning any time of year.

We stayed here close to family for Thanksgiving. It was wonderful! The property was clean and well supplied. The view is beautiful!

From the moment we drove into the driveway, we were amazed at the cottage and the view. It was our first vacation in over 3 years. The cottage was beautiful, clean, and exceeded our expectation! The view over the valley was unbelievable! We will definitely be coming back! The only disappointment was having to leave and go back home....... Our Host was great !!!

We picked this place for a short trip and ultimately had a great time. We got to see the fall foilage. It was also cozy with the gas heater and chilly night temps. We even went trick or treating at nearby Desoto State Park. Hope to come again!

I looked at all the excellent reviews people left before I booked this house and thought we’ll try it and see. It can’t be as good as all that. BUT IT WAS! The location is perfect. It was so clean. Everything you need was in the kitchen. The view was amazing! We will definitely stay again and have no problem recommending this cabin to our friends!

I had stayed at this cute little house a couple of years ago with 3 friends. Wanted to show my husband the area, so one of my friends and I brought him along this time. The house is in a great location, it has beautiful views and most importantly, it is easy to access for people with limited mobility. (My friend and husband both deal with spinal stenosis) Loved our stay and highly recommend!

This is our 2nd trip to this cabin with these same friends. We just love it! Now it feels like our cabin and we are already planning our next adventure there.
