We very much enjoyed this cottage and found it to be well organized and had everything we needed. We were very comfortable there. Slept great on great sheets ( not polyester! Yea!) Very quiet. We did have to open the windows when we arrived due to heavy fragrance and cleaners, took several days to get rid of the smell. Lighting could be better in the bedroom if you like to read in bed. But really, I would happily stay here again and felt the owner really tried to think of everything you would need. Some of the photos need to be updated as some furnishings such as couches have changed. It was truly a comfortable lovely little cottage. Thanks!
So many thoughtful touches, well equipped, beautiful location
This place was not only beautiful with the best view of the sunrise every morning but it was close to everything we wanted to do in Acadia!
The boat house was adorable, clean and comfortable. It was close to everything Mt Desert has to offer. Really enjoyed the peacefulness of the area.
This is a great one bedroom house for a couple. Christie gave us helpful info, and we enjoyed having a kitchen for meals and picnic prep/ While the kitchen is basic, it was very well-equipped. Bed is king-size and comfortable, shower was great. The lighting could be a bit brighter in the bedroom as we like to read at night before bed. Also the washing machine is located next door and is a pay machine, which I did not realize until we arrived. No big deal, but just mentioning. We would definitely stay here again. We loved SW Harbor.
Charmingly rustic on the outside, the property is up-to-date and thoughtfully decorated on the inside. The bedroom is very spacious and the open-plan living room, dining room, and kitchen is very comfortable. We appreciated the little touches: a selection of books and games, TVs in the living room and bedroom, and an apron in the kitchen. There is a laundromat next door and be sure to bring a roll of quarters because there isn’t a change machine. There are several good restaurants within walking distance, along with a gourmet/wine shop, a small grocery store, and a bakery.
The boathouse was just what we needed! Not too far from activities and quiet enough. Thank you.
The Boathouse Cottage is very nicely maintained, clean, spacious, and comfortable. It’s located only a few blocks from the center of Southwest Harbor, with a good selection of restaurants and several lovely shops, including a terrific little wine and cheese shop. We prepared most of our own meals at the cottage and the kitchen seemed well equipped for our needs. The location is right in the middle of the commercial marina area, which wouldn’t ordinarily be our first choice, but we thought we’d give it a try this time. Bright lights from the marine store across the street and the lack of a quiet outdoor sitting area were drawbacks for us, but with windows closed the cottage was fairly quiet inside. We did put up extra covering on the street side bedroom window to reduce the light at night. Being country folks, we like it dark at night. All together, it’s a trade off between location convenient to shops, restaurants, and the Island Explorer bus line versus a more secluded, quiet location. The cottage itself is very nice and the pricing is more than fair.
The cottage had everything we needed for our stay, which made it simple to just move our belongings in for our stay.
Perfect little cottage with a short drive to Acadia and other points of interest. The home was well stocked with items that made it feel less like a rental and more of a place we could call home. Bathroom is rather small, but we had no complaints. Only a 15-20 minute drive to the park this was everything we hoped it would be.
