Cozy tranquil cottage, ocean view, nestled on the edge of a forest

It was amazing!!!! Cozy, comfy, close to sight seeing. We had all we needed. It was clean and we had such a pleasant time. Hosts were very gracious and hospitable. Cottage was exactly as shown.

Beautiful, clean, quiet and cozy little cottage with all of the amenities we needed for a comfortable stay. Louisa, a very thoughtful host, even surprised us at reception with some gluten-free bagels for my wife, along with some fresh eggs and a few buns from the bakery down the road. It was unfortunate that there was a burn ban in place, or we would have enjoyed a few nights out by the firepit in the backyard. The cottage was close to several wonderful sites for day trips: we visited Peggy's Cove, Mahone Bay, Chester, Lunenburg and took the foot ferry over to Big Tancook Island for a quick tour. Made a few purchases from the Hubbards Farmers' Market and thoroughly enjoyed several picturesque beaches close by. Would definitely recommend this place to friends who are wanting to visit the area.

Well-appointed cottage in a nice, quiet location. We enjoyed our two days. The cottage was nice and clean and the communication with Louisa was great.

The cottage is in a beautiful area. Close to a great little beach, and conveniently located to other coastal towns to explore. Louisa was great at communicating, and even sent detailed directions on locating the property. The backyard was the perfect little place to enjoy a coffee and read. It was quiet. I loved the thoughtful touch of fresh eggs and bread from a local bakery. We had an excellent stay.

We had a wonderful one-week stay. It is a quite, tranquil and convenient location. Easy access to South Shore hiking trails, beaches and towns. We set 1.5 hours driving as our max. Travel distance, The “cottage” is a clean and comfortably sized one-bedroom house, with pull out sofa in the living room. It has double doors can convert this living room into a secondary bedroom.

Such a lovely comfortable and well stocked cottage in a beautiful location with fantastic hosts. The local bread, free range eggs and butter, coffee and tea on arrival were such a welcoming gift. The house book provided so much useful information and recommendations. These 4 nights came at the end of our travelling holiday through Newfoundland, Quebec, New Brunswick, PEI and Nova Scotia and the cottage was an absolute haven of peace and quiet - with hummingbirds as well as games/cards to keep us entertained. We can't wait to return (just hoping we can secure a booking in the future!).

Everything was as expected!

As soon as I opened the door of this cottage, I realized that it would be comfortable and that the host was a so thoughtful person. I asked I could steam big lobsters at cottage. They kindly prepared to cook tools before check in with bread and eggs for breakfast. We could enjoy the lobsters I bought in the fisher's market in Halifax with wine. It is a mid of Halifax and Lunenberg. It is a perfect location to trip Halifax and Lunenberg, also great to walk over beaches around cottage. The cottage was very cleaned.

Sweet little recently renovated cabin. It’s behind the main house but very private. Clean, modern inside. Hosts designed a lovely scene out back with a firepit and stringlights for star gazing. Great jumping off point for exploring the south shore. Amazing beaches nearby. We hiked Castle Rock -- recommend! Thanks for a special stay.

I absolutely cannot say enough good about this house. Yes, the owners are on the same property in a large house but they go out of their way to ensure you have a nice, quiet and private time in the rental. The house is perfect for a number of reasons. It's very quiet, it's in beautiful condition with very nice views of the sunrise over the cove, it has a fantastic fully stocked kitchen and Rosa even provided fresh eggs for us free of charge from their own chickens and fresh bread from one of the local bakeries. I've become spoiled by the toaster biscuits in Nova Scotia. There is a television in the living room and a couch that has a hid-a-bed inside if you need an extra bed for any reason but not in the bedroom so you can sleep in peace. The communication with Rosa was flawless. She responds to text messages very quickly and when we had a problem with the shower head she had a plumber out the following morning on a weekend to install a new shower head and the water pressure quicky jumped to amazing. Rosa invited us to learn about her garden and her chickens and was absolutely delightful. This home is located in a fantastic spot to be able to drive into Halifax for some adventure or Peggy's Cove to see the famous lighthouse. We managed to get to Lunenburg to do some sightseeing where they also have lots of harbor and whale watching tours. Bottom line, you really need to look at this rental when it's available. You cannot go wrong.

Louisa has taken great care to ensure the cottage offers complete comfort. The location is nicely tucked up into the trees, with some view of the Bay at a distance. Only ten minutes from Hubbards we could easily explore the south shoreline.

Really enjoyed our stay here the area of hubbards is very beautiful and the cottage suited our needs well, the space was very clean and had everything we needed. Louisa made sure to understand our needs and the whole pricess was very easy ! Definitely a great place to stay..The area is quiet and the view is amazing! ?
