Our river cottage was built in 1940. Perched on the bank of the Toccoa River, our house is perfect for couples or families looking to explore McCaysville, Blue Ridge and the Copper Basin area. Our home fronts Toccoa Avenue in McCaysville which means the Blue Ridge Scenic Railroad is just across the road! It's a favorite activity to step outside when you hear the train whistle so you can wave at the riders as they pass by!

This 1940 River Cottage has 4 bedrooms and two bathrooms.
r>The first bathroom is a full bath and the second is a large bathroom with shower; perfect for cleaning up after your river activities.

Bedroom one is on the main floor and has a California King bed and a Smart television. Bedroom two is on the main floor and has a queen size bed. Bedrooms three and four are upstairs where the 1940's charm and craftsmanship shines. Bedroom three has a full bed and bedroom four has two built in twin beds. You'll love this charming upstairs space!

The living room has plenty of space for lounging around, watching the smart TV or taking a mid afternoon nap.

Our eat in kitchen with new gas stove is fully equipped to satisfy your cooking needs. Sit at the table and watch the river go by as you enjoy a meal or play a game of cards! This is a favorite spot for many visitors.

We have two adirondack chairs in the back yard to sit in and watch the Toccoa River roll by. We recently (August 2023) added stone steps all the way into the river to give access to the water for fishing, kayaking, tubing, and swimming. While you’re in McCaysville, don’t forget to walk downtown to take your picture straddling the Georgia/Tennessee State line and try out some of the local restaurants. The river house is about 15 minutes from downtown Blue Ridge, Georgia where you'll find lots of shopping and dining experiences and 15 minutes from the Ocoee Whitewater Center, home of the 1996 Whitewater Olympics events. Though the visitor center burned a few years ago, there are year round hiking and biking trails available in the area in addition to seasonal commercial rafting or kayaking excursions on both the Ocoee and Toccoa rivers. As the description says, this is a 1940 River Cottage. It isn't a cabin. It isn't a new build, but we believe you will love this little charmer as soon as you walk in!

We had the perfect vacation! Access to the river was easy and sitting outside with the lights was a great way to end the day. We can’t think of anything that could be done to make it better. Thank you!!!!

The house was exceptionally clean. The host was very quick to respond. The kitchen is very well equipped with everything you need to cook and grill. We loved sitting out by the river watching the ducks float by. We will definitely be back.

Loved this place! The home is clean and nothing else you can ask for. At this time of year I could sit in the backyard and watch the geese and ducks for hours. There is a river otter making an appearance across the river on the opposite bank. Showings from 7:45 till the sun goes down. The town is awesome. I hope it does not change! My second time to the town first time to this property. Both are excellent! Great hosts!

We had a great visit! The house is very close to the busy road, so that’s something to be aware of with small kids, but we had no trouble! We rarely noticed road noise inside, either. The fence gives an added level of security while playing outside and the back yard is gorgeous with the river running through. Super clean and comfortable!

The house was lovely, comfortable, and welcoming. These are the things I liked the most 1) super clean and comfortable 2)the bed was very nice 3) the view of the river from the kitchen table made snacks, meals, and board games even more special 4) sitting by the river in the Adirondack chairs was peaceful 5) the hosts were great 6) there were reasonable and clear instructions for check out. I highly recommend this property!

I spent two nights with the elders and spouses of my church in the annual planning retreat. It was a great space for our time. The river was peaceful the house cozy.its very close to town and was convenient to restaurants and shops, except this off season I guess several of the eating establishments closed early or were closed on some week nights. We finished early so my kids joined for the last night. It would have been nice to have a fire but that is against the rules, but they had a blast playing hide and seek and we were able to watch a Christmas movie and and play some games. Cooking breakfast was easy and kitchen had Everything we needed.

My friends and I took a quick weekend trip here to fish. We’ve seen this location several times from the train and wanted to try it. Very clean and roomy. Great location with the river directly behind the house. We caught a lot of fish by the way!!! 4-5 minute walk to downtown McCaysville and the shops and restaurants. We absolutely loved it.
