Stayed here Thanksgiving weekend with family. Booked last minute so pickings slim, otherwise based on reviews probably would not have chosen. Giving an updated review, based on issues others mentioned. Great location convenient to Blowing Rock & Boone. Cute property, pretty views. Nice deck spaces- would be lovely in fall. Property basically looks as advertised in photos. Kitchen adequately supplied for cooking, plenty of pots and pans-YES there is a toaster now. Nice 6 person dining table- a must for us for Thanksgiving, hard to find in this price point. Property was clean, but yes an older property, & is pet friendly (also a must for us) so it doesn't have that brand new feel. There is a definite musty smell. Great location tucked away in cute neighborhood. Great deck spaces, pretty views. Too cold to use decks so can't speak to the road noise mentioned in another review. Didn't use hot tub, so can't speak to that. ZERO garbage bags upon arrival- SUPER ANNOYING as was the fact no soap in kitchen, no kitchen cleaning spray, & only 1/4 a roll paper towels upon arrival . Only 3 clothes hangers. Temperature IMPOSSIBLE to regulate. Bedrooms sweltering, living room cold. Needs to be addressed. Don't count on pull out couch for sleeping space- all springs, horrible. Needs updated windows, SUPER drafty. Lots of v steep steps inside & out not pictured- ok for us but beware for mobility issues. Rental served purpose but would not stay again. Not up to the VRBO standard for us.

The house is nothing like the picture. It was filthy dirty with dirty dishes and oven. Dust everywhere. Outside was all overgrown. Barely had the basic kitchen supplies most Vrbo houses have. Closet doors falling off hinges. Lights outside not working. I can go ona me on. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

We were last minute travelers and were excited to secure a cabin. There was stocked fire wood which we were appreciative of and the kitchen is very well stocked - could put some additional garbage bags. The only bathroom on the first floor is through the master bedroom and could have disclosed this. The master bathroom had mold around the caulking and the sink took hours to drain - it was gross. A normal size adult would struggle with the shower upstairs. Overall we were appreciative of the location and the property but after we arrived the home owner wanted to charge my credit card for $6 fee on their TV. For the amount of money they charged us for two nights I was disappointed that they were passing along a charge that we were unaware we incurred and that they should have safe guards on their cable service. It left a bad taste for us and made the cabin overall disappointing for the price.

Huge disappointment all the way around! We have traveled to the area on numerous occasions, but never rented from this company. The pictures of the home were a far stretch from the actual state of the home. Upon arrival, the furniture was completely disorganized, the couch was covered in feathers/lint, the steps to the hot tub were covered in ice, there were berry few cooking pots/pans and the dishwasher was filled with half of the dishes dirty. We had to purchase ice and spend over 2 hours busting up the ice on the stairs. Additionally, the maintenance man showed up as we checked in (approximately 30 minutes earlier than normal check in) and had to drain the hot tub because it was cloudy and dirty - which resulted in us not being able to use the hot tub until Day 2. Once the hot tub finally heated up, it wasn't maintaining heat. One of the reasons we booked this place was to enjoy the hot tub which was a huge disappointment because we could only use for 2 hours the weekend. Before arriving, two people at the rental office indicated the house had been empty for an entire week. So it is beyond frustrating that they would wait until the day of check in to clean the house and check the hot tub. Furthermore, we were only provided one towel per person and one roll of toilet paper per bathroom. The manager offered to refund us $75 because of the hot tub issue, which is thoughtful, but unfortunately that wasn't enough given the other issues we encountered. We will be booking rentals in the future with the companies we previously used.

Chalet Blueberry was disappointing. The place was clean and organized but we encountered many problems. Lightbulbs were out in several areas and there seemed to be only two operating temperatures with the HVAC unit: thermonuclear hot or frigid cold—no in between. The downstairs sink didn't drain and all of the windows and doors, except for the front door, upstairs door and kitchen door were locked or sealed shut, which has to be some sort of fire code violation and was especially frustrating when trying to lessen the heat inside. Thank god were skinny people because nobody over 180 lbs would fit in the upstairs shower and rough, broken tile and rough cement make up the “drain.” I will say that the staff at Carolina Cabin Rentals was great and easy to deal with and we love the area but I wouldn't stay at Chalet Blueberry again.

We did not get an email with a code about getting into cabin.I was somewhat confused about this - had to call and be be let in remotely. Somethings are not clear -ie in checkout instructions your email says to put trash in bin outside and secure with hungry cord- There was no bunny cord so had to call to ask what to do. Light bulbs that were burned out not replaced and no other bulbs in the cabin. Lighting in cabin made it seem very dark and locking those porch doors was a challenge!

This 2 BR chalet had plenty of room, pretty decor, hot tub, decks for relaxing. Should have been cleaner! Floors not swept and small white feathers on the furniture (from pillows,We hope). Called management about 3 issues and was told they would get back to us. They never did. A quiet and relaxing stay. Would return.

Our anniversary getaway was not what we quite hoped it would be. I called and spoke with Jackson yesterday after we had left and informed him of critical issues that need to be corrected. His response was I would pass this information along which was very poor. Our biggest complaint was the walkway to the hot tub was dirty and the area around the hot tub was cluttered with cables wires and a large huge hose that was just sprawled out in front of the hot tub. The hot tub itself was cinch down real tight we could not get to it. Other issues were several lightbulbs out on the back deck over the kitchen sink bathroom sink in master and the water drains in the master sink and tub drains very slowly. Also, the front door would not unlock with the code, we had to leave the door unlocked when we were shopping.

The cabin was perfectly quaint. The upstairs bedroom did not have a vent for AC, but thankfully it was cool enough for my son to be comfortable with the windows open. I’m not sure about the cleanliness when we arrived; there was certainly a musty smell, but again the windows open helped tremendously. I loved the back deck and the location of the cabin was great- close to Blowing Rock and a short drive to Boone if we wanted. With a few updates or improvements I would stay again. Also, the kitchen is not at all well equipped, so be prepared if you plan to cook most meals there. We had a great stay.
