There is a beautiful inner court yard ,a large covered terrace and a huge outside terrace with warm shower. The property is approx. 5000 square meter big and fenced with a natural hedge. In the kitchen there is an old, well working Sard oven, in which you can bake bread or Pizza or grill fish. 2 bicycles are available. The night sky is overwhelmingly beautiful, one sees the Milky Way very clearly, since there is no light pollution. There is a fire-place to heat the sleeping room, also mobilegas heating is available. Two more beds in a separate room for 2 more guests. The cottage is furnished with ethnic furnitures. Distance to the Sea is about 2.5 km and the next beach 4.5 km.

Further information about the furnishings: The 2nd room is connected to the bedroom with a door. In addition, there is a storage room for bikes and more. The house is located in an old typical sardinian agricultural area (vineyards, lemon and orange groves, vegetable cultivation etc., but there are also many 'wheat' fields, which are no longer used.) There are a few more houses in the area, of which some are rented out in the summer. The nearest neighbour is about 100 metres away. The house belongs to the carpenter of the village.

Guests comments : The house is beautiful and absolutely deserves the title of romantic villa. The terrace is a dream, and the other rooms are very lovingly decorated, and even the refrigerator was filled for us that was totally nice and the kitchen was excellent, it wasn't missing anything. It was brilliant that there were two bicycles which we always used to get bread, or just for a trip by bicycle to the beach. Those that like to stay calm and like seclusion then this is just right. I would stay there any time, especially when traveling as a group where nobody bothers you and others do not feel disturbed, which is perfect, and you enjoy your holiday. The choice of beaches in the area is excellent. We were almost at a different beach every day. There is nothing negative I remember, we were all happy to talk about this holiday. Sauereisen Family from Stuttgart

Perfect place to spend your holidays when you are looking for a quiet place, with a great space outside around the house to relax, make BBQ and spend your time in a in a lounger or hammock. The house is perfectly equipped with everything a man needs and even more. Well-kept to the last detail, this beautiful house has been prepared by the owners so that they can also spend time there with pleasure. If necessary, the owner Paola was always available and supported us in all matters. Joachim for his part, advised us many interesting things to see and experience, also many fantastic restaurants and ideas for trips. In such an environment and with such support from the owners, we spent a wonderful 3 weeks there, feeling just like at home. We would love to go back there again. Thank you very much for everything.

We loved staying in this villa, it was just what we were looking for: a simple but beautifully designed house in a quiet location, nowhere near any noisy roads, and no other houses in sight, but easy enough to reach a local village for shopping, and within a short drive of several wonderful beaches. It fit the description given online, was clean and well maintained; Joachim the manager was very efficient and Paula who owns the house showed us briefly around (tour ending with the well stocked fridge other guests have mentioned. She doesn't speak much English, but Joachim does, so any questions we had about the house during our stay we texted to him, and we always heard back very quickly. I had been a bit worried about booking through a direct - to - owner website, but had no need to be. I would (and already have) recommended this house to anyone who the layout would work for (the second bedroom is accessed through the first, so it was perfect for us and our children, but wouldn't work so well for two couples) and who likes quiet places and beautiful wild beaches - probably the best I've seen in Europe, though they were pretty busy in August, as with most other places in the Mediterranean. We would definitely be happy to return, and as parents of two small children, even happier if a dishwasher was installed! Oh and if you rent this villa, the night skies were incredible - no light pollution at all, just layers and layers of stars.

We stayed here a week at the beginning of May 2013. The booking was handled by Jochen and we were greeted and shown around the villa by Paola, both very efficient and helpful. The villa is lovely, a characterful blend of old and new, vaulted ceilings and a large conservatory lounge. It is comfortable, spacious, clean and very well equipped. The kitchen and fridge were stocked with local produce. The rooms are large, with steps between some areas. The second bedroom leads off the main bedroom, with a screen between. We loved the outdoor space – terrace, patio, and outdoor shower. There are planted areas around the villa, and the garden extends out like a paddock, an acre, hence the seclusion. There are the usual countryside noises, animals and farmers. One tip - keep the gates shut in case goats are loose. The villa is about an hour’s drive from Cagliari and the airport. The nearest town is Teulada, less than 4km away. It’s a working village with some places to eat out, and various bakers, butchers, supermarkets, a chemist and a pasta shop. For a change other villages within 1/2 hour drive are Sant'anna Arresi, Giba and Santadi, notable for the local wine outlet. The local smart option is Pula. Aside from Cagliari, where you could easily spend a day or two, there’s plenty of places worth a visit. Note that the roads are very winding and it can take hours to go 100 km. For any distance, like Oristano, best head into Cagliari and take the carriageways. Heading up the west coast from the villa are the islands of San Pietro and San Antioco, the former mining town of Buggeru and the tempio di Antas. Inland is the Marmilla area, the village of Villanovaforru and the Nuraghe Su Naraxi. Going east towards Cagliari, just by Pula are the ruins of Nora. The coast road must be one of the best on the island. Our favourite restaurants during the stay were Monserrat next to the church in Tratalias and L’Ancora overlooking the beach Portixeddu near Buggeru. It wasn’t quite beach weather when we were there but Portixeddu, Chia and Portu Tramatzu looked appealing. Porto Pino looks good for families.

We spent one week in the beginning of June 2010 in this cottage. Away from it all, as described on the website, it is indeed. In the morning and in the evening, the sheep go by, on their way to and from their grazing grounds on the surrounding hills, and that’s about as much traffic as you will get in this country lane. Apart from peace and quiet, great features of the cottage are: all windows have mosquito netting, the generous food and drinks supply on arrival (bread, butter, cheese, jam, sausage, wine, mirto, plenty of bottled water, coffee, fruit juice, lemonade, spaghetti, canned tomatoes, artichokes and mushrooms), the cleanliness, both inside and outside, adequate heating, blankets and down duvets for the beds, plenty of kitchen and bath linens, pots and pans and kitchen utensils, herbs and spices, three mountain bikes, three loungers, which can be taken outside on the brand new big terrace with bbq and outdoor shower. As to the village of Teulada, it has a covered market (open daily) and a few small supermarkets where you will find everything you need. We tried two restaurants: Sebera (twice), which serves fantastic grilled fish (“orata”) and really good French fries (“patate fritte”) and La Grotta Azzurra (once). Both serve OK pasta and pizza. As to beaches, the nearest one was our favourite, Portu Tramatzu, next to Porto Teulada, just a short drive away: big stretches of soft white sand and the shallow acquamarine water Sardinia is famous for. There is a small “organised” area, where you can hire beach chairs and parasols, have a drink or a snack at the bar, use the changing rooms and toilets and hire a boat if you like. As to excursions, there is not a great deal to see northwest of Teulada. The beautiful mountainous and windy road from Chia to Teulada changes to flat and monotonous as soon as you drive further on in the direction of Giba. We visited Nebida and Buggerru, two small coastal villages on the west coast, but did not find them very appealing. Absolutely fabulous however is the Tempio di Antas, which is in an idyllic spot and has a Machu Picchu feel about it. It is on the scenic road from Iglesias to Fluminimaggiore. Other highlights of our stay: the beauty of the Costa del Sud, the Roman settlement at Nora, the beach of Santa Margharita di Pula, which is sheltered by pine forests, and Pula, a nice seaside resort with a lively little centre.

We spent a fabulous week here despite the unseasonal weather for May (changeable and rainy). It is the perfect location to get away from it all. The cottage and the fittings are excellent and it has a great atmosphere - with lots of personal touches which make it special. As the blurb says, the night skies were spectacular: deep black with the stars very clear and bright against it. Paola showed us round and also left us some food to get us started, which we really appreciated. It's not everywhere you go where coffee, exra virgin olive oil, spices etc are laid on. Chia beach is lovely and sandy (we did get a couple of sunny days); we also explored the local caves and archaeological site. Teulada the nearest town is easily accessible but not very exciting; useful for basics like bank, supermarket etc. We enjoyed being in the middle of the countryside, near to so much unspoilt coastline. We would love to come back some time (and see the fully finished terrace) and would certainly book this property again.
