Stayed Jan 3, 1We couldn’t have asked for a better location for our stay. The large garden opens onto Lough Corrib and we enjoyed relaxing outside and soaking in the views The cottage itself is spacious and the beds were very comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked with ample crockery and cooking utensils. However we felt some work was required to improve it - for example the lino on the floor is very old and uneven in parts and some of the blinds need replacing as the fringes are falling off and dead insects seem to be buried in them! The light in the utility doesn’t work However these issues are relatively minor and would not stop us from recommending it

Stayed Apr 4, 2026Everything we needed was there. Well equipped kitchen. Views from house stunning. Situation of property meant it was safe to let the kids and dog out into the huge garden. Only thing that could be improved was a couple of the lamps weren't working and overhead light in living room was flickering. House was lovely and warm and clean.

Stayed Sep 28, 2024Ohhh how we fell in love with Oughterard. If you want to meet locals and enjoy pints galore with the most lovely people, this is your place to stay. The house is sweet. The views amazing. You’ll even find a cute Springer named Molly bolt through the yard from time to time. The hosts were very kind and it was just the best vacation ever.

Stayed May 24, 2024We loved our stay. Frank and Geraldine Molloy were very lovely hosts. The cottage had all the amenities we needed for our stay. The only thing that was missing was the dryer. There was a washing machine, but not a dryer as listed. The location was perfect. We could visit Galway as well as Connemara Visitor center, and the Kylemore Abby. The cottage was right on the lake, so the morning views were breathtaking. I would definitely recommend this location to anyone who likes a peaceful retreat.
