It is difficult for a couple to find a place to stay on BHI. Most offerings are houses designed for families. This was perfect for our needs.Great sunset views too.

I was extremely pleased with the cottage house. The location by the marina was perfect and the Owner was very helpful with instructions.

I had a wonderful stay at this lovely cottage on the marina. It was clean, had beautifully views, and stocked with thoughtful extras like coffee, creamer, and bottled water. The host was responsive and even allowed an early check-in, which I greatly appreciated.The included golf cart was quite fast, though the brakes required strong foot force to stop safely. I ended up renting another cart out of caution but this may not be an issue for some. Overall, most everything about the cottage exceeded my expectations. I’d definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Bald Head Island.

Great location. Check in process very smooth. Convenient to restaurants and beaches. Good view from upstairs deck. Property is a little tired and could use some updating.

Fantastic location - shops and restaurants in the marina are just a short walk and everything on the island just a golf cart ride away. Quiet and beautiful view of the marina.

My wife and I spent a few days at Carolina Moonshine for our 30th wedding anniversary. I was a little worried it may be too small, however it was absolutely perfect for a couple and we had everything we needed. Interior was very nice and the location right on the water at the marina was beautiful. This rental comes with a golf cart which was great for getting around the island.The owner, Hugh, was great to work with and very responsive to any questions, which was a big help since it was our first time visiting Bald Head Island. We would definitely stay here again.

This cottage and island were perfect! I so enjoyed exploring the island on the golf card, walking on the beach, meeting the islanders, reading, relaxing….just perfect!Thank you for an amazing experience!

My husband and I went for a long weekend and had a lovely time. The house is super clean and cute. Loved seeing all the boats in the marina and easy access to restaurants. The golf cart was awesome and we did the Bald Head club add on which was really nice. Beaches were amazing and the ferry was incredibly efficient. Loved the entire experience!

Great location, cozy little cottage right on the marina. The bed was very comfortable. My wife and I were celebrating our 41st anniversary and it was our first trip to the island. It was still the off season so it was very quiet. Food options were limited, suggest getting the club membership for another dining option. Golf cart is hard to steer and the brakes are shot. The motion light on the porch is annoying and makes sitting out there after dark impossible. That is the only thing I would change. We would definitely stay there again.

My wife and I enjoyed our stay at Carolina Moonshine very much. We came to the Island for a wedding and the small and well appointed home was perfect. Everything you need for a weekend or longer stay is provided. The bed was very comfortable and love all the windows which bring in the outside views and lots of light. Perfectly located with easy walk to the Ferry and Marina. The information provided by our host was detailed and accurate and very responsive. We highly recommend this gem of a house.

Really enjoyed my stay and wish I could have stayed longer. Very cozy with a most comfortable bed and view of the marina. Extremely close to the ferry and lighthouse. Owner was very fast and prompt with reservation and check-in. Highly recommend!!

Our second time staying here to celebrate our wedding anniversary, it’s perfect for us. Super clean, best location on the marina. With a golf cart included, you can get anywhere on the island especially the beaches and shopping at the market. Communication responses were fast and detailed. Easy checkin and access. Walk to the hut from the ferry, no need for the tram. Beach access in walking distance to stretch the legs. Absolutely recommend this place and friends are already asking for info. We would definitely stay there again! Cheers!

My husband and I stayed at Carolina Moonshine for 3 nights in early September. This is a 5+ star property! Tiny but with everything you may need - the owner has thought of everything. Location at the marina is great and a sunset view too. The golf cart provided is a great way to explore the island. Beach chairs and beach towels are provided. Communication with the owner is great. We enjoyed our stay and hope to return!

This is our 2nd time staying at this property at BHI.This is the perfect location for us next to the marina. After long days of boating/fishing, we enjoy coming back to the incredibly comfortable bed! Bonus to have a golf cart and pay for access to the club which we utilized both. Hugh is a very responsive owner. There are plenty of fresh towels, coffee and even beach chairs for use. Thanks again!
