Stayed Jun 7, 2026Excellent stay. The property is secluded enough so you can feel at peace in nature but accessible enough to Winter Harbor that if you’d like to pop into the town/Schoodic district of Acadia it is easy to do so.

Stayed Jun 5, 2026This was a really cool location. Overlooking the pond (which looks much more like a large lake) with a campfire ring and Adirondack chairs by the water. The place was very clean and comfortable. Make sure you pack in your own amenities, including a blanket and pillow as these aren’t there, and there is no bed, but there is a comfortable couch. The room comes with a stove and oven, and some pots and pans and a sink for dishwashing. It also has electricity and a few lamps, microwave, and coffee maker. No running water so bring a gallon jug of your own water for washing with. It has a nice size refrigerator for storing drinks and food. The location is very close to Acadia national Park, which I visited and did some hiking. Acadia is one of the most beautiful parks I’ve ever been to. Finally, the host is quick to reply, and is very communicative and helpful. Great place to stay! Five stars!

Stayed Oct 5, 2025I loved it! I used this as a base camp to go hiking in Acadia NP, and it was perfect for that, but I also could have spent my entire two days at the property and been very content. As it was, I slept deeply on my air mattress in the loft and watched the beautiful sunrises while sitting at the shore and while eating breakfast at the table inside. On the second morning, I also explored the entire lake with the host's canoe. It was quiet and serene, listening to a pair of loons that I was able to see up close while paddling. I took a short, refreshing dip in the clear water of the lake. I was there mid-week in the shoulder season, so maybe I got lucky, but I had the entire lake to myself. If I'd been staying longer, I might have wanted the ability to lock the cabin. I did have an orb weaver spider join me in the port-o-john, but I left it alone and it did me the same courtesy. Really the biggest issue was finding and getting there. Google gave me a location for the address that wasn't even on the correct lane. I arrived after dark and the long driveway and lack of signage made it hard for me to know if I was going the right way or going to end up at someone else's house. I bumped into some tree stumps that were hard to see in the dark. Upon leaving the property, the big SUV I was driving, a VW Atlas Crossfire, had issues with the loose rock and spun its tires going up the small hill close to the road. Overall, I highly recommend it and hope I can return!

Stayed Oct 10, 2025Perfect for a rustic, clean, quiet escape. Hear the birds and creatures as you drink your coffee with a perfect lakeside view.Drive down LONG bumpy driveway down to pond. Must walk 100' to get from car to house. There are: electric outlets that work, woodstove, fridge, microwave, sink, windows with screens, sofa, table and chairs, two lamps, firepit, pots and pans, dishpan, coffeemaker, outhouse. I did not test the oven. THERE IS NOT: water on site, heat (other than woodstove), AC, wifi.

Stayed Jul 10, 2025This was a great cabin, beautiful views and overall fun experience with the kids. The loft area is a little small for four of us so we ended up sleeping two in the loft and two on the main floor. Prepare yourselves for the mosquitoes! I wish we had more time to kayak, but we did have s'mores at the fire pit and cooked our own lobsters.

Stayed May 30, 2025Loved the cabin and the location was breathtaking. The owner provides paddle boards, kayak and all the essentials you need. 10/10 will definitely be booking again. It rained the whole stay and it was still the most peacful and relaxing place I have stayed at in a long time! Cant wait to try it again soon in some dry weather.

Stayed Oct 17, 2024This was a captivating setting. If we were to stay there for a few days, it would have been delightful. As it was, we were driving back from Acadia NP. We just weren’t prudent. We were up for indoor camping and maybe even the wood stove, but elected not to stay after arriving after dark…totally our choice. Another time, it would have been PERFECT.
