Stayed Jul 23, 2025We had a wonderful stay at the Bird Nest Cottage! It exceeded our expectations. The beds were comfy, the kitchen had everything we needed for cooking and dining in, and the bathroom included a heated seat bidet! It was great having a washer and dryer, too. We loved the location--so close to Fort Warden, walking trails, Admiralty Inlet and downtown Port Townsend. Sharon was a wonderful host, and we look forward to staying again in the future.

Stayed Jul 1, 2024Thoroughly enjoyed the location, close to Fort Worden, beach and easy access to Water St or Uptown PT. Rode my bike easily up that final hill. Had good place to lock up my bike at the cottage. Relaxing stay in comfortable setting. Cottage a bit over-furnished but was able to move a few things to closets to make it comfortable. Had access to any appliance desired, and supplies for cleaning and washing machine (clean). Exterior a bit rough but not a hazard. Pictures are a bit dated of outside. I'd return here again in future summers. Owner available but not intrusive at all, altho she lives next door. Felt cared for. Thanks Sharon.

Stayed May 31, 2023We walked everywhere, to downtown, to hiking trails, to the beach, and grocery stores. Sharon our host was very responsive and respectful of our privacy. The kitchen was amazingly well supplied. Loved the flowers, the neighborhood deer, and the hummingbirds. A wonderful month in Port Townsend!

Stayed Jan 28, 2023We had a great stay at the Bird’s Nest. Sharon is a fantastic host. She’s attentive and responsive whenever you need something but also gives you space and privacy to really feel at home. The kitchen is so well equipped that we were cooking at home almost every night. Great location, walking distance to Fort Worden and convenient driving distance from everything you need in Port Townsend. A great place to stay!

Stayed Sep 15, 2020Perfect location for a couple who want access to the beaches and woods on the north side of town. The covered front porch offers views of Fort Worden and the waters around the lighthouse. The kitchen is set up thoroughly for those of us who like to cook. The owner is next door and could not be more attentive to any issues that arise. A gardener refreshes the plantings on the back deck weekly. We've had a lovely time.

Stayed Aug 1, 2018The house was clean and very charming. The hostess, Sharon Kania, was eager to see that all my needs were met. I loved the views of the water. My heart leapt when I say a cruise ship, cargo ship or white masts of a sailing ship go up the sound. Port Townsend and the surrounding towns are wonderful to visit. There are lots of music and art festivals. It's a great place to visit. I would come again to stay at the bird's nest cottage.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969What a find! Bird Nest is a lovely place, spotless, beautifully decorated, and full of luxurious touches to make a stay comfortable. We spent the first 30 minutes exclaiming over things: the beautiful view, the wonderful kitchen, the fresh flowers, the luxurious bed, the luxurious bath and shower, etc. The place is sited for complete privacy. It's especially nice for a family with disparate tastes: lots of nearby hikes, great shopping close by, fresh local food in bakeries, farmers markets and restaurants, and all the comforts of home, including wifi and cable for our teenager. I can't imagine anyone who would not be delighted with their experience here--and the rates are very reasonable too. The hosts are extremely gracious but also very respectful of privacy--you can have as much or as little company as you like. All in all, the best place we've stayed in a long long time.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We recently spent three months at the cabin and loved the location near Fort Worden. Gary built a Redfish kayak and attended an ongoing evening boatbuilding workshop at the new Northwest Maritime Center twice weekly. We enjoyed walking, trying out the many interesting restaurants in the area, exploring and learning to geocache, taking the ferries to Whidbey Island and to Edmonds, and seeing movies at The Rose Theater and Uptowne Theater. Owners Jerry and Sharon make every effort to ensure that you have what you need for a great stay. We would highly recommend this property.
