Beautiful Lakeside Cottage on Spring River Lake in Maine

Everything we could have wanted for a Maine cabin trip. Place was very clean. Had access to canoe and kayaks. Was on a not very busy lake for it felt really secluded. Saw eagles flying during the day and loons calling at night. Really close to Tunk mountain trailhead and if you are up for a challenging hike I recommend doing that. Wish we had more time to spend here. We we busy go go going seeing all the Maine sights we didn't get enough time to just relax at the cabin. Would love to come back.

This was our first trip to Maine and our first booking through VRBO. We arrived later than planned but our property owner was great! He had already been in contact with me and all was as expected at the house. He went above and beyond with tourist pamphlets and was extremely helpful with suggestions for shopping, etc. The lake is beautiful and we enjoyed some canoeing. Would definitely recommend. The accommodations were good and everything was clean.

We enjoyed the lake and the view. Gorgeous sunset, clear water, lots of privacy. Canoe and kayaks are available. The Check-in process was quick and easy. The lakehouse was clean . We only have one issue ... the bathrooms which I was informed of beforehand and was fixed the following day but the problem recur again. No wifi but we survived. it was a great experience for kids to be away from gadgets. Otherwise, we had a good time.

Beautiful setting and house for a quiet, relaxing vacation.

This was our first stay in Maine and how lucky were we to stumble upon this rental!! We heard loons immediately upon getting out of the car and fell immediately in love. From falling asleep at night listening to the loons to opening our eyes to the lake every morning, each moment was perfect. We watched the mergansers run on the water as we had coffee (and my kids later squealed as the birds went under their kayak paddles). We gratefully made use of the kayaks and the canoe to explore the lake, we swam, hiked Tunk and Catherine Mountains, and explored Acadia and Schoodic. The last night we took the boats out to watch the moon rise. The lake and area was peaceful and quiet and the house was exquisitely appointed. We wanted for nothing, but whenever we needed to replenish our Old Soaker Blueberry Soda supply, Ellsworth was a mere half hour away and we could get whatever we needed; Milbridge is closer, but not as many options in terms of stores. The kitchen was a cook’s dream and I can’t think of anything that was missing. This rental tops our favorites list and exceeded every expectation. The owner was very communicative and the caretaker left her number, as well, so we were in good hands. We hope to be able to visit again; leaving and saying goodbye this morning was so hard!!

Everything about the property was perfect. My two children, 6 and 8, had the best lake vacation. My 1 year old, whom I brought over during the day, loved exploring the crystal clear water. Home was beautiful, lake was beautiful. Owner was always available to answer my questions. Neighbors were friendly. I would highly recommend this property and hope to visit it again in the future!
