Stayed Jul 22, 2023The view and beach access was wonderful, so private. Not many steps (more walkway) to access beach. The narrow driveway was a little daunting. While overall house was clean and maintained, we were constantly killing ants.

Stayed Sep 4, 2021This is obviously an older but well loved family cottage that the host has generously offered for VRBO customers to enjoy a bit of time in one of the most beautiful settings on Lake Michigan. The woods surround the cottage and the lake facing front of the cottage offers such a wonderful view of Lake Michigan. The views of the Lake are lovely from the interior of the cottage, the deck, and the lower deck half-way down to the beach, where you can take your morning coffee or your lunch. There is a relatively new boardwalk down to the beach that is very well maintained, and for a large section is a ramp. I appreciated this since I was recovering from a minor injury. We were stunned by the beauty of the sunsets at summers end. There was lovely weather the week we stayed there. Even a major thunderstorm that rolled in off the lake had a beauty of its own. We enjoyed the coziness of being inside. We took advantage of the cribbage board and some of the other games. Our host, Patty was a warm and responsive VRBO owner. And although she was not onsite, I felt as though she treated me like family. Pentwater is ne of my favorite towns in Michigan

Stayed Aug 14, 2021This cabin is in an ideal location. It is private and peaceful right on a sandy, lovely beach with clear water. Spacious decks and comfort!. We were fortunate to have perfect weather which does affect the experience. It is close to town with some shops and a couple restaurants-not too touristy. This cabin had everything you would need! That being said, it IS a cabin and is not a luxury hotel. If it is a cabin you are looking for, this is a great one!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969This was the perfect cottage for us - no stairs for my 86 year old mother. Lots of peace and quiet and lovely to come home to after a day of sightseeing.

Stayed Jun 23, 2018Very comfortable environment with plenty of amenities to make our stay more enjoyable. Because this cottage is nestled in a neighborhood among other privately owned homes with Lake MI views & private beach access, it was a little challenging to find at first. The drive leading to the cottage can be a little daunting, but it is located close to and has easy access to the charming town of Pentwater. The owner was wonderful to communicate with and very accommodating. The ramp leading to the beach with a deck halfway made is easier to get to the beach/lake ,which was just a very short sandy walk away. The beach area is small, due to erosion issues with Lake Michigan, but this beach was larger than most of the others around us. Kitchen was fully equipped with microwave, dishwasher, stove, fridge and plenty of dishes. WI-FI & cable tv worked great. 2 full baths, strong water pressure and even though it is well water it tasted fine (there is a water filtration system in home). There is a washer & dryer but we did not use them. Be aware there is no air conditioning, which we found to be uncomfortable on our last night because of the unusual humid 95+ degree weather, however for the most part it was very pleasant inside the house, especially at night. Parking is very limited - space for only 2 cars so be prepared for that if you are planning on having a lot of people stay at the cottage. One of the best features of this location was the privacy & peace & quiet. Charming home with lots of character. The only real negative I would say to be prepared for is that the house had a strong mildew smell from being closed up. We opened all the windows immediately but it took a day or 2 to get used to. I think this is not unusual for cottages that are used on a limited basis. Overall it was a very pleasant experience and I would be happy to recommend to others to stay here.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Our family of 5 had a fabulous time at this cottage in July. We loved its private setting and cozy feel. The cottage was very well-equipped, clean and well cared-for. We savored the beautiful views from the sun room and the two decks. We grilled most nights, but did enjoy lunch one day at the Cottage Garden Cafe and picked up delicious pies from Fudge & Frosting, both in Pentwater. We found Pentwater to be so charming and had fun exploring its stores on several occasions. Other than time in Pentwater and a visit to Ludington's State Park (Big Sable Lighthouse), we spent as much time as possible on the beach. It was perfect for our kids! We enjoyed swimming, paddleboarding, building sand castles and lots of walking. Patty was great to work with, very responsive and helpful. We are so thankful for the fantastic time we had at this cottage and would LOVE to return again next summer!!!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969My husband and I spent a week at the cottage in August and it met all of our hopes. In fact, it's difficult to say what we appreciated most. The setting is private and quiet, with the exception of the sounds of the leaves rustling in the breeze and the waves on the Lake. The cottage had everything we needed and is very pleasant, and we spent much of our time on the deck overlooking Lake Michigan or down on the shore. Thankfully the weather allowed us to swim every single day. The beach is pristine, and we appreciated the wooden decking to our private beach front. Pentwater is only a mile away and is a lovely little town which offered everything we needed; shops, good areas to walk, and many interesting looking restaurants from which to choose. Rather than go out, however, we preferred to grill on the deck each evening and watch the sun set over the lake. The property is in close proximity to the Hart-Montague bike trail, which was a very good ride. And there are lots of places to explore nearby. It was clear to us that this property is well loved by the family that owns it, and has been maintained without losing its rustic charm. Patty was very easy to work with and responded quickly to our questions. We would definitely return, and we recommend this property without any hesitation.
