4 The Clockhouse is a first-floor apartment set in the heart of Midhurst market town. With its own parking space around the back, you couldn’t be in a better spot to enjoy this historic village. Within easy walking distance are the Cowdray ruins, one of England’s most important Tudor homes, visited once by Queen Elizabeth I and King Henry VIII. If you’re a fan of polo, Midhurst is a prime spot to be in the spring season as well.

This large apartment now features two spacious bedrooms. The first bedroom is a double bedroom with a large wardrobe, providing ample storage space. The second bedroom is furnished with a luxurious king-size bed with views overlooking the bustling city centre below. With a large, comfortable living space, this is an excellent base to come home to in the evenings after a day of exploring. The high ceilings and walls make both rooms light and airy, creating a tranquil retreat away from the hustle and bustle of the streets below.

The kitchen is on a slightly higher level and is fully equipped with everything you will need to self-cater during your stay (although there are plentiful pubs, restaurants, and cafes around). The kitchen includes a kettle, dishwasher, washing machine, cooker, microwave, fridge, and freezer. There is also a dining table with seating for four, so there is plenty of space for just yourself or to entertain friends while you are away.

The apartment has a shower room and separate WC. Additionally, the property now has newly installed WiFi for guests to use. One parking space is allocated to this property.

Note - The apartment has a communal entrance.

In recent years Midhurst was voted the most desirable place to live in the whole of the UK - some accolade! It is a quintessential English town, with period properties from a variety of eras lining the main streets and a collection of eclectic shops and restaurants making it even more appealing. Much of the town is still owned by the famous Cowdray Estate which hosts the polo season, attracting visitors from all over the world. The famous Cowdray Ruins lie on the northern outskirts of the town and there is a superb farm shop and coffee shop to enjoy. The South Downs surround the town and for keen walkers there are so many beautiful places to explore.

The old market town of Petworth lies just to the east, with Petworth House being an interesting place to visit, along with Petworth Park. Goodwood lies just a few miles to the south and attracts visitors from all over the world to its famous motor sports events and horse racing events. Chichester lies about 11 miles south of Midhurst and has a world famous cathedral, which dominates the city. It also has the renowned Chichester Festival Theatre. There are number of good quality golf courses in the region, including Cowdray Park and 2 courses at Goodwood.

The south coast, with many picturesque beaches including West Wittering's sandy dunes, is about 6 miles south of Chichester. Midhurst is easily accessible by road and there is a mainline train station to London at Haslemere, just to the north.

Perfect location in a spacious flat in town, close to all amenities. Whilst it has off street parking, it is not very easy to manoeuvre around the gate. Fortunately there was no car parked beside me, which gave some wiggle room.

The flat is quite nice but in desperate need of TLC. There are cracks in the kitchen walls, some walls have scuff marks and need to be wiped and/or painted. The main bedroom window frame looks quite bad in places with the glass and frame dirty, including the double glazing. The kitchen chair cushions are heavily stained, and the cutlery, because they are part wood, should be replaced. In the living room. the wooden chair is broken and probably unsafe to use, and the carpet is moth eaten in some areas. The bedrooms need proper curtains, and the wooden blinds in the living room and kitchen should be replaced as some slats are broken. Other reviews have already commented on the lumpy bed mattress and sofa. It is a two bedroom, two bathroom flat but the one with an en suite had a handwritten note taped to the the door saying ‘Out of order’. When I emailed the agent thinking a previous occupant had left it, they said ‘We don’t advertise the property as having an en suite and people keep opening the door’! So they knew but this detail wasn't shown on the booking information. There was scaffolding covering the back of the building as when I was there the outer window frames were being painted. None of this was relayed to me by Henry Adams (who when I told them claimed not to know). It might have made a difference to my booking the flat as none of the back windows could be opened during the day. So, during the hottest days of 2025 it was unbearable inside and I had to buy a fan. It is also worth noting that I could only open the kitchen windows anyway! The electronice gates to the car park were not working so the neighbours kept the gate opened which blocked my allocated space. (They found me another one to use.) For anyone who stays here, note that if anyone parks in the space next to your allocated one, it will be difficult to get an average sized car in as you have to park along a wall and the space is narrow. On the plus side, the flat is well positioned on the main road in Midhurst and the neighbours are extremley kind and helpful. I booked via the Henry Adams Holiday Cottages website which in my opinion displays out of date images and guest reviews. I arrived to a call from one of their agents saying that the key box wasn't working so I would have to collect the key from either the cleaner or the office. Then, when I found two sets of master keys in the flat and called them, I was asked to drop them into their office where, when I arrived, the staff had no idea who I was as they were 'sales and not holiday lets' so not interested. I didn't even get a call or email from the letting side to acknowledge receipt. Overall, I found Henry Adams rude and dismissive.

Great property in the heart of the area. Only fault in the house is in the master bedroom the incredibly loud water system goes off at random points in the night. The check in instructions were also not super clear. Also worth mentioning that for the allocated car space, I had a golf and it was a tight squeeze, with the gate opening across the space I think would struggle to fit in anything longer that that. All things are suggestions from a guest but the actual property area/space/cleanliness were all fantastic. Thank you.

Very pleasantly surprised when we arrived at this wonderful apartment right in the centre of this beautiful little market town. The property had more than enough room, was very clean and the facilities were excellent. Parking and access to the property was easy, although having to wait for the electronic gates to close before you can park in the allocated space is somewhat annoying as they take an age to close. Overall we loved this stylish, elegant apartment and we will definitely return, highly recommended.

The flat is in a lovely building which even though it is on the main road as it doesn't suffer from road noise. The one parking space allocated to the flat is only suitable for a small car. The decription of the car park entry button is incorrect in the information. There is no entry to the building from the car park. The only access is via the front door. There is no information in the flat - rubbish/recycling (although there is a recycling calendar - but no where to put it. We ended up taking all our rubbish home)/facilities in Midhurst/ How things work in the flat e.g. heating. It seemed as though the boiler kept starting throughout the day. The items in the flat are tired. The seals on both the fridge and freezer are coming away from the doors and the inside of the fridge looked stained. Many of the items of crockery have chips and there are only 2 teaspoons. We didn't use the oven, microwave, dishwasher or washing machine. The sofa is tired and uncomfortable. There were no batteries in the dvd remote. Wasn't able to use the newly installed wifi. In the bedroom the wooden base of the bed sticks out beyond the matress restricting space around the bed. Mattress uncomfortable. Space is also restricted by bookcases in the room. The was no lightbulb in one of the bedside lamps. The shower, due to the shape of the shower enclosure, access is limited and may not be suitable for everybody.

A lovely little spot to stay in Midhurst. Nice and convenient. With a couple of touches it would take it from good to great. I'd definitely recommend to others.

Great location, very nice neighbours. Flat was well equipped and very comfortable although several lights in living room and bedroom didn't work. The instructions on arrival paperwork for gate opening were not clear, neighbours were very helpful and said it happens a lot with flat 4 visitors.. No direct access to building, have to haul luggage along a side street. The lack of WiFi was very disappointing and scored a low mark for value for money.

Great place to stay and spacious. Generally clean, but a bit dusty in the corners/ venetian blinds etc. Bed was comfortable but very low - a bit of a struggle to get up from if you are no longer in the first flush of youth! Wardrobe shelves are full of linen - would be great to make at least a couple free for guests to use Service was generally good all via email - but instructions for parking space could be clearer - none of the spaces are numbered and ended up in wrong space as wasn't clear it was actually the one behind the gate. Instructions on driving in, waiting for gate to close etc. would have been helpful . Also instructions could have been clearer on which button inside the gate to press! Sitting room very comfortable with great sofa to lounge on. Good sized TV . Kitchen diner great size with plenty of facilities. It would be good if at least one cupboard could be cleared of the owner's possessions to make space for a larder/store cupboard Glasses, crockery, cutlery etc could do with a refresh. What is there is a bit limited and showing its age a bit. A welcome pack for the flat which could also include instructions for appliances, where the dustbins are etc would be a good idea for holiday lets Overall though very enjoyable stay and would definitely use again

The flat is nice and in a great location. However, the code to enter residents carpark was incorrect, can see this has been pointed out to letting agent in other reviews on other sites in the past and clearly they have not bothered to amend their records. Parking space barely large enough for small car with mirrors folded in, residents take up most of the space with little consideration for others. Inside, flat not very clean, lots of clutter left by owner. Poor drainage in shower area, water almost up over the shower tray, boiler had no pressure and needed topped up during our stay. Also no wi-fi, this should be a given in this day and age and needs to be addressed.
