It is set at the end of a quiet no-through road with a secluded garden. Over the road is the village playing field with tennis courts. Inside, the house is warm, convenient and attractive - practical for families with children, yet well-furnished to be relaxing and comfortable for the older generation. The well-equipped retro kitchen leads to the dining room which boasts a cosy wood burner.

Blakeney Quay is a short walk past the village shop (with bacon for the ever-obliging crabs). From here is access to the marsh or up to the village. Blakeney is a bird-watcher’s paradise; the coastal path runs in front of the house, there are seals at Blakeney Point, and it is surrounded by beautiful countryside walks. The historic little town of Holt is close by and offers a range of shops, pubs, restaurants, cafés and weekly markets. Within a few minutes’ drive is Holt Lowes, an area renowned for wildlife, designated as both a Site of Special Scientific Interest and Special Area of Conservation. Also worth a visit is Holt Country Park with its wealth of bird life, as well as other RSPB reserves. The region has several stately homes such as NT Blickling and Felbrigg Halls, Holkham Hall and Houghton Hall. Other interesting days out include visits to Sheringham Park, and Walsingham Shrine and Priory ruins. Sheringham offers golf and is home to the North Norfolk Steam Railway, Splash aqua pool, a promenade and a pier. Within easy driving distance is Norwich with its excellent shopping, restaurants, cathedral, theatre, pubs, cinema and markets. Wells-next-the-Sea is 5 miles and Holkham’s vast sandy beach is just 8 miles. Windsurfing, dinghy launching, sailing and boat trips are all available locally. Shops 100 yards.

Seagulls is a superb holiday home which my friends and I have stayed in a number of times. The house is warm, comfortable and well equipped. We spend a good deal of time in the upstairs sitting room gazing across the marshes. We often see a barn owl hunting. The village shop is amazingly well stocked and is open very long hours. The Two Magpies Bakery near the Quay has delicious bread, pastries and cakes.

A bit dated but we felt this added to the properties charm. Brilliant location, parking for three cars, good amenities in the village apart from the two pubs, neither providing a satisfactory experience.

We had a lovely time despite coronavirus meaning that our son and his wife not being to come. The cottage would be great for a family holiday but needs some updating. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

This was our second stay at Seagulls - a lovely base to explore North Norfolk from. All the amenities that you need for a pleasant stay, and of course that view from the sitting room - awesome. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

Beautiful setting and very spacious property with a large and peaceful garden. Very comfortable beds and lounge with a lovely view over salt marshes. Great for deer, rabbit and bird watching! Generally very well equipped inside and out but could do with larger wine glasses (!) All the appliances worked but could do with more modern hoover. A little bit of tlc needed e.g. kitchen drawer trim. Overall a very happy stay and would be pleased to return to this property and this part of North Norfolk. Seagulls suits our 3generation family very well. The accommodation and the garden are both spacious, the upstairs sitting room is a real bonus, and was much appreciated this year when the weather wasn’t always good. The location is second to none. Two hotels, two pubs and a restaurant and a supermarket all within walking distance. We have just had our 8th holiday at Seagulls and hope to return.
