This is our second stay at this property and I'm hoping we can get a third visit reserved soon. The peaceful view and charming Charlevoix vibe is what my family of 4 needed to escape for a few days after the busy holidays. This historical house is a perfect get away no matter the time of year, but winter is pretty magical. We immediately turned on the beautiful fireplace, put on our comfy clothes, and just enjoyed each others' company. We watched water fowl, deer, and squirrels enjoy the icy day from the many windows. It is pretty hard to entertain two teenage girls, but this house fit the bill. We had family time of a game night and dinner, movie night with take out, morning lakefront walks, and a bit of shopping downtown and in nearby Petoskey. The house is just like the description (and more), immaculately clean, comfortable beds, with a beautiful kitchen. It is far enough from town to feel secluded but close enough to walk to the lighthouse and stores. Anyone visiting the Charlevoix area for an overnight stay should consider this property!

We were able to spend two nights at this property in late December. Owner was quick to respond to communication. Check in and check out was quick and easy. Property was immaculately clean with plenty of towels, blankets, comfy beds, and a stocked pantry. The view out the front window was Lake Michigan and the Charlevoix lighthouse and the view out the back window was wildlife and Earl Young houses. The interior is well decorated and gives recognition to the local area and Earl Young. We enjoyed our evenings relaxing on the couch with the gas fireplace with the waves crashing in the distance. The walk to the lighthouse along the beach was safe and short while we found a few fun local rocks. Charlevoix is a quaint little town that offers shopping, food, and a place to get away. 100% we are planning on staying here again. Great for winter, summer, and every day in between!

This house, location & host never disappoint! The modern upgrades maintained the integrity of the Earl Young home. The conversion of the fireplace to gas is wonderful! After 50 years of coming to Charlevoix I truly believe this is the prime location for Charlevoix history & charm…

Stay was good. Home was clean, location was close to food/shopping. The view was amazing! The only thing that was a negative was a mildew odor in the home. There were no signs of leaking water that we saw, but the smell of mildew was thick throughout the home.

We thoroughy enjoyed our stay in this mushroom house. It was a special treat for us and worth the extra funds. The beach view from the living area is peaceful, soothing and beautiful. If I were ill, I would want my bed right in front of that big picture window. The host had everything we needed including coffee and steel cut oats for oatmeal. The beds were the most comfortable that I could ask for white traveling. Towels, washer, dryer, dishwasher, fridge all came in very handy. If I every go back, I will book here again.

This was our second stay at this wonderful stone cottage and it did not disappoint. Perfect location, stunning views, so welcoming and cozy. Even better than the photos which are a little outdated. The fireplace conversion to gas and the exceptionally comfortable mattresses were extra bonuses this time around. Jeanne is a delight to work with. Very prompt and helpful. We may never own our own lake home, but we can splurge on this one and that is the next best thing!

WOW! We try and come to Charlevoix in early summer every year to see friends who own a shop in town before their season gets crazy. We have stayed in Earl Young properties each time but this cottage is AMAZING! So well stocked and perfect location. Plus just all around lovely. We would highly recommend and will be back. Our only regret was that our schedules didn’t allow a longer stay.
