The host was very responsive and the home was beautiful. It was a great spot to stay with my family- my boys loved the games and the bunk beds. Everything was very clean and, as someone who is sensitive fragrances, I was greatful that there were no scented products in the house.

Thunderhead Inn Condos: where cozy interiors meet a supporting role in Hot Tub Time Machine. Inside, the place was warm and inviting, the kind of spot where you can kick back after a hike—though the bed was so firm I’m pretty sure it doubled as a chiropractic adjustment table.Ventilation? Let’s just say we didn’t need a menu, because we could smell exactly what the neighbors were cooking. Lots of grease, lots of guesses. Mystery solved every night. The exterior has that retro ski lodge chic—if chic means “someone should probably repaint this.” Seriously, if John Cusack had walked by in neon ski gear, it wouldn’t have felt out of place.Location, though, was a win. Being right next to a trailhead saved us a few bucks on parking passes, and the hikes gave us peek-a-boo mountain views worthy of a postcard. Sadly, no Sasquatch sightings, but we’re pretty sure he was just hiding behind the General Store waiting for snack refills.Between the nearby food options, the General Store, and the comedy value of the building itself, we had everything we needed. Overall, we really enjoyed our “Govy” weekend stay—equal parts adventure, nostalgia, and mystery aromas.

Communication was good. Quick responses. People above us were loud and heavy walkers.

The apartment basically smelled like a Wisconsin bar, but not a good Wisconsin bar. A mixture of old alcohol, piss, and a dead body.We actually had to make other arrangements and left after the first night

We stayed at this wonderful property for three nights! Used it as a bit of a basecamp for my summit climb of Mt. Hood. Easy access to the mountain and the Timberline Lodge. Property was great; large space, clean and quiet. Perfect :)

We love the Thunderhead Lodge and have stayed in many of the rooms. We love this place. The only thing I could say negative is that the pool is no longer 102 degrees. The heater doesn’t work as well and they’ve tried to fix it but it isn’t working still. It was about 92 degrees according to the owner who’s in a law suit with the company that fixed it. So hopefully they get it back to where it was because if it’s windy outside at all during the winter, it’s unbearable to go in.

This place was great to stay for a trip up to Mt Hood. It was clean, the listing was accurate, and the management company responded to any questions or messages right away.

This place looks great on the VRBO ads. When we arrived, they hadn’t provided us with the key code to get into the main building and because the electronic lock was broken on the condo door, they provided us with key. The key would have been fine. But once we got inside, there were only two ceiling lights and a lamp in the corner. The lamp had no bulbs. The floor heater was pulled off by me part of the wall. The tv didn’t work. And the place smelled of old cigarette smoke. My kids and I couldn’t handle the bad first impression and immediately left. Also the building rec room was closed off with construction tape. When I contacted the management company (Cascadia Getaways) to ask for a refund, they made several excuses why the things I noticed were not a problem and said that the condo didn’t smell like smoke. None of this was disclosed in the VRBO listing. We went there for a fun weekend in Government Camp and this turned out to be terrible.
