This is the perfect cozy island bungalow for a weekend of fishing or just hangin

Although we were texted a door code ahead of time for check in, when we arrived there was nothing to enter a door code for. After calling the management company, they initially did not know why that would be, but it turns out it never had a door code in the first place and required keys (something they should have known since there had been literally staying there before we arrived). When we entered the property, the overall condition of it was not the same as the photos included on the website (tons of rust/water damage, not as much natural lighting). The shades in the bedroom were broken so they could not be opened. The vent in the bathroom didn’t work. And worst of all, there was BLACK MOLD on both of the vents! Would not recommend.

A bit of paint and cleaner furniture would really make the place more inviting. The sheets were like paper and the bed was very uncomfortable. There was a stained old chair in the corner next to the old futon that I was weary of touching but I can be appreciative of the sitting options. The toilet wouldn’t flush unless you held down the nozzle. Also there was a smell of musty cigarettes. Unless that’s just the after smell of other families in the ocean, which could be proven by the sandy front room floor. I liked how close it was to the beach and to the main part of the city. The neighbors seemed nice. Because the bed had a bad smell to it and the pillowcases had stains on it, I was able to remove the bedding and replace it by the extras in the closet which seemed to have been dry cleaned and wrapped in plastic so I was thankful for that. There was also a stocked kitchen to cook some meals and from what I saw it was all mostly clean. Overall, I wish I would have chosen to stay in the hotels a couple more minutes away with free breakfast, comfortable beds, a clean environment and daily house keeping which would only have been a little bit more in cost. I stayed in a hotel about 3 min away the first night because I got in a little bit early and I paid just about the same per night as I did there and I was much more comfortable and happy there. I read that the building survived hurricane Harvey, so what it’s worth, I’m glad it’s still standing.

Good location, close to beach and most of Port Aransas. The on site outdoor shower comes in handy. Room was clean and cozy.

We enjoyed our stay! Place is a little older but affordable and very comfortable! A/C worked great!

Property is affordable and fairly conveniently located. It’s a very no-frills spot, which is reflected in the affordability.There were some definite cleanliness issues and we could have used more towels/washcloths. The kitchen has basic pots and pans and utensils. There were no hot pads. Most places we’ve stayed have had some salt/pepper/kitchen basics, but this doesn’t. Not a deal breaker, but we would have thrown some in if we had known. The property was quiet and felt safe.

It was a bit noisier than we are used to but quiet between 10p and 7a. I’d have preferred it be a bit cleaner on check in but the issues were minor. No dishwasher, heads up! We got great value for our money.

We arrived late in a Thursday evening and it was clean and the air conditioning was perfect! However the stench of marijuana was all I could smell. This was a family trip with my two kids and wasn’t wanting to explain to them what that smell was. I understand you can’t really control what everyone does and Port A is a party place but I’m pretty sure in the signed contract we’re not supposed to smoke anything in the condo. I did call and speak to a rep from Port A Escapes and she offered a decent discount from our stay. She also offer for maintenance to bring in an “ozone machine” but that wouldn’t help fix the smell from the next smoking session. She also offered to move us to another location but we would have to live back the next night due to them being completely full. The beds weren’t horrible but definitely bring your own pillow. We will not stay here again but I will definitely book again with Port A Escapes!

This was the perfect place for our family getaway. Clean, close to the beach and plenty of ammenities. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

The condo is if fairly good condition. I was glad to see the old key lock was replaced with a modern keypad lock. Can't really give a review on the management company since I never had any real contact with them.

Wasn't expecting an apartment like setting, said cottage thought a 1unit setting. All's good.

Reviewer Comments: It appears that the photos included on Vrbo/Expedia are fairly old, as most of the wear and tear visible when walking in the condo is not pictured in the advertised booking sites. For example, significant rusting and water damage was noticed. There was not as much natural sunlight that reaches the inside of the apartment as we were led to believe, and most lighting provided yellowish light compared to the bright lights seen in the photos. The blinds in the bedroom were broken so you could not turn them open. Fan in the bathroom did not work. Most concerning was the presence of BLACK MOLD on both sets of vents in the living room and bedroom. I would also refrain from saying this would comfortably sleep 4, unless you want to use the living area for 2 of your guests and have no privacy. Rental agency also gave incorrect check in information (was told there were be a door code to enter, but nothing was there to punch in a code). We needed to call and have someone drive over with the keys. At least we were walking distance from the beach.
