Surfside 62 - Steps to the Ocean

Amenities were fantastic. Host included everything we could’ve have possibly needed for our stay including tide pods for laundry. Location was a very short walk to the beach. Parking was abundant. Only complaint is that the location was in a very traffic heavy area.

Right on Hwy 101, very noisy! Good property, clean with lots of room but bad location.

Unit was merely average. Entrance stairs are tight and challenging to carrying luggage. Bed is soft and poor for the back. Couch is uncomfortable. Stay was only one night -- thankfully.

The place looked a bit sketch from the outside but it was really nice inside and clean. They did a great job updating the place! We parked on the street right below our room.

Positives: condo was very well kept and clean. Bed was comfortable. Modern. Friendly, responsive owners. Negatives: check in was difficult without a VRBO account, but owners were very responsive in getting things sorted out. Not a great area of town, didn't feel super safe especially at night. Loud, sits right on 101 and you can hear also hear the fog horn. Ear plugs were included, but we prefer not to use those due to our own personal safety.

You can tell the owners care about the property. There were little thoughtful things from granola bars to extra personal hygiene items and soaps. It was clean and redone on the inside. Cons: noisy, police yelling in mega phones, horn all night, paper thin walls, no AC, hot and stuffy, bad smell, like when you are trying to cover a terrible smell up and mix it with an air freshener. I was traveling with my three teenage daughters and we did not feel safe. I was afraid to leave my car on the street overnight. Lots of homeless and people wandering around the area. The Redwoods State Park office next door was fully fenced and locked at night. We left after one night having not slept well due to the noise (they do provide ear plugs and we had a noise machine) smell, heat and environment surrounding the building.

I rented this property for 3 adults. The property said it would sleep 3 adults. The sleeping situation for the 3rd adult was a couch. Not a pull out couch, just a couch. And the only linen provided for that 3rd person was a blanket. No pillow, no sheets. I don't think it should be advertised as sleeps three if no bedding or true sleep space is provided. Kitchen was well stocked with cookware/dishware, except for glasses. Only a few plastic tumblers provided. Oherwise happy with property. It was clean and easy to find. But the description of sleepspace needs to be provided (and bedding should be provided!)

Met the owner who happened to be there and he was very kind. Place was great the area at first was questionable be it all turned out just fine, meeting the owner made me more safe and comfortable. Full kitchen with everything you need.

This was my first vrbo experience and it was TERRIBLE! The host gave a completely inaccurate description of the property. It was in an unsafe part of town located above a commercial business. Completely unacceptable. Wouldn’t refund our money.

We stayed here to celebrate our 30th anniversary in Crescent City. The place was clean and comfortable. The host was available for anything we needed. They were helpful and kind and went above and beyond to help us be as comfortable as possible. The place had everything we needed and the store across the street was very convenient. My favorite part was laying in bed in the evening while my husband watched movies next to me, with the window open and watching the cars come down the street while smelling the beautiful ocean air. We are already planning next year’s anniversary to stay in this exact rental. The only struggle was the stairs to get up to our room but we made it and we loved it. It’s very convenient to everything. I just love Crescent City with my whole heart and this rental was perfect. The kitchen had everything we needed and the bathroom even had Qtips and make up remover pads. I’ve never walked on rentals floors but this one was ultra clean. I recommend this rental 10/10 but don’t book it the week of September 17 because that’s when we want to come back. Lol

I was in Crescent City for my 45th high school reunion. When I made my reservation several months ago, VRBO's app had a glitch, and I ended up with two bookings. The host went way beyond the extra mile to help me work it out with VRBO, and I was refunded the full amount for the 2nd booking. The apartment is clean and very pleasant, with plenty of room. I enjoyed my stay here, and I will certainly stay at this location again. The host is fabulous, and I do not hesitate to recommend this property.

First time visiting Crescent City, the vacation rental was first rate! Clean and centrally located. Shelly the co-owner was so attentive and caring. We were evacuated due to the tsunami and she made sure we were OK.

Comfortable and clean, this was a relaxing spot to come back to after a day in the Redwoods! We loved the recommendations Brandee gave us for hikes and restaurants... definitely check out the Thai place around the corner! Yes, there is traffic noise - but most lodging in town is on 101 and you would have to deal with that just about anywhere. We found it did not keep us awake! Would definitely stay again!

Beautiful property! Had everything we needed and it was spotlessly clean. Road was a little loud but they had earplugs and we had no issues sleeping. The area was cool but didn’t expect the large homeless population. Didn’t have any issues though. We would def stay here again, highly recommend it.

Good location within walking distance to a brewery and restaurants. Road noise wasnt too bad.

This condo was very nice and clean. It was close to the ocean front and lots of cute restaurants. It was also great to be right next to redwoods!

The place was spotless and comfy, way better than we expected. Everything was top-notch and made our trip even better. We totally recommend this awesome spot for a chill getaway.

My husband and I stayed for two nights. We found the property clean and the check in/out instructions clear and easy to follow. We did have issues with the fire alarm going off randomly, as well as a extremely strong paint smell from the bathroom.

This property is extremely clean and inviting! A great spot to explore the coastline and the redwoods.

We loved our stay. The apartment was spotlessly clean and very well appointed - everything you would need. It was in a great location to visit Redwoods National and State Parks as well as the coast. Our property manager gave us an excellent suggestion for a beautiful hike.
