The Neighborhood:

With beautiful views of Arthur’s Seat and in close proximity of the city centre, Meadowbank is a popular place for those looking for somewhere to stay, without being too far out. Home to the Meadowbank Stadium which played host to the Common Wealth Games in 1970 & 1986; now a home to a whole of host activities and events, including the annual Meadowbank Fireworks display, concerts and various sporting events. In late 2017, The Meadowbank Stadium will be closing it’s door to allow for a refurbishment and a regeneration of the Meadowbank area; as well as offering a new Meadowbank Stadium.

With a large Sainsburys, Poundland, TK Maxx and M&S, you can avoid a trip into town with everything already on your doorstep. And if you’re looking for a fast food fix, you have KFC and McDonalds on hand too.



Meadowbank Stadium



If fitness is your thing, having one of Edinburgh’s largest sporting hubs, with indoor and outdoor facilities on offer, on your doorstep would be ideal. Meadowbank Stadium will be closing it’s doors for a massive development in late 2017 but will be replaced by new state-of-the-art sports centre.



Getting Around:

Property is located just a few moments walk from The Queens Park. The property can be accessed from Waverley train station by foot, bus or taxi. It is roughly a 7 minute taxi or car ride , 15 minutes via bus or a 25 minute walk. The property is a 30 minute car ride from Edinburgh or 40 minutes via bus.



Easily accessible on road via the A1, as well as being serviced by many Lothian Bus routes, it’s easy to see why Meadowbank is so desirable. One of Edinburgh’s most popular train routes also crosses through Meadowbank, however the nearest station remains Waverly, in Edinburgh’s city centre.



Other Things to Note:

Air conditioning is only in one room.



Holyrood park is just a two-minute walk. Why not go there for a picnic! In the downstairs closet, you will find 6 collapsible lawn chairs so that you and your friends can toast Arthur’s Seat in comfort.

    Location was good, but this property needs a lot of uplift - couches look very old and dirty, top floor was creaking and making lot of noise when anyone would walk, door stoppers won’t work, and lights were very dull.

    It was comfortable and well equipped. It was generally clean but not deep cleaned. Example: the shower drained slowly and the drain not cleaned properly; kitchen washing up brushes needed replacing; the outside of the windows were not clean. Location ideal for Holyrood park and the Royal mile. Kitchen was well equipped for self catering. Area was quiet and no noise from the apartment block which was a small block. The apartment is opposite the railway line which wasn't a problem for us but maybe for others.
