Wake up to the Pacific stretching toward the Marietas Islands, pour your coffee, and step onto a private terrace where a hand-tiled fountain murmurs beneath swaying palms. A fully renovated two-bedroom retreat in Punta de Mita's sought-after Faro de Mita community, where artisan Mexican design meets every modern comfort you need.

This isn't a cookie-cutter vacation rental. Every detail here was chosen with intention, from the striking hand-painted turquoise tile kitchen to the two-tiered cantera stone fountain framed by traditional Talavera tile on the patio, to the collected folk art that gives each room its own story. The result is a space that feels like a beautifully curated home, not a hotel.

THE SPACE

An open-concept great room anchors the home, where the living area, dining space, and kitchen flow together with ceiling fans stirring the ocean breeze. Floor-to-ceiling glass doors retract fully, dissolving the boundary between indoors and out and flooding the space with natural light from this prized end-unit position.

The Kitchen is the heart of the home, and it's a showstopper. Hand-painted turquoise Talavera-style tile stretches across the backsplash, complemented by tropical amapa wood cabinetry, a kitchen island topped with Mexican marble and bar seating for four, and glass pendant lights overhead. A gas range, stainless steel appliances, and an exceptionally complete collection of cookware, utensils, and serving pieces mean you can make anything from a quick breakfast to a full dinner party with ease.

The Living Area features a generous L-shaped sectional dressed in coastal tones, woven poufs, a jute area rug, and a wall-mounted flat-screen TV with Sonos whole-home audio. It's designed for both lazy movie nights and lively conversations.

The Primary Suite is your private escape. A king-size bed framed by a hand-carved four-poster in dark wood, original artwork, and views that reach the ocean through sliding glass doors to a private balcony. The en-suite bathroom feels like a boutique spa: stone tile walls, a rain shower behind glass, a vessel sink set on a Mexican marble counter with amapa wood vanity below, and thoughtful touches like a towel ladder and artisan decor.

The Guest Bedroom has its own personality. It's a beach-inspired room with warm tones, comfortable bedding, a longboard surfboard mounted on the wall, and a standing desk for anyone who wants to get a little work done between beach sessions. Every room has its own AC unit (four total, including the main living area and utility room), ceiling fans, and ample closet storage with custom amapa wood built-ins.

Practical Comforts: Full-size LG washer and dryer, fiber-optic high-speed Wi-Fi (great for remote work or streaming), extensive built-in storage throughout, and a dedicated parking space.

YOUR PRIVATE TERRACE

Step outside and you're in your own open-air living room. A two-tiered cantera stone fountain set against hand-painted Talavera tile anchors one end, while an outdoor dining table seats six against a backdrop of rooftops, palm trees, and the Pacific Ocean. It is a great place to sit with coffee in the morning or just relax later in the day, with good light and a nice breeze.

THE COMMUNITY AND SURROUNDINGS

Faro de Mita is a secure, gated residential community with 24-hour security, a resort-style swimming pool with in-water loungers, covered palapa gathering areas surrounded by manicured tropical gardens, and dedicated parking.

But the best part might be what's just outside the gates. El Anclote Beach is right in front and is a three-minute walk and Punta de Mita Beach is only seven minutes on foot. In between, you'll find some of the best restaurants on the Riviera Nayarit. Golfers will appreciate Higuera Golf Club, a public course just a five-minute drive away, and Barracuda Beach Club is a similar quick drive for a day by the water. When you're ready to explore further, Sayulita and San Pancho are 20 minutes up the coast, and the protected Marietas Islands are a short boat ride away.

I need to be better about providing reviews in the allocated VRBO timeframe, so here I go... This was the ultimate romantic & surf reset at Faro de Mita for my wife & me. Killer stay. We needed time away from the US craziness to decompress, focus on our relationship & celebrate a delayed Valentine’s Day. This place checked all the boxes, and the listing's pics are accurate - comfortable, amazing views, and dialed in. We loved the indoor-outdoor layout; when the weather was firing, we’d slide those massive glass doors wide open to let cross-ventilation pull salt air through. When temps spiked & humidity kicked in mid-week, the multi-unit HVAC was a lifesaver. 4 separate AC units kept us ice-cold when we needed a break from the heat.I loved scoping the surf conditions at El Anclote break from the patio & paddling out in mins via the security gate leading directly to the beach. When not in the lineup, we were at the massive resort-style infinity-edge pool, enjoying the in-water loungers. I’m a huge Sonos fan, so as soon as I connected to Wi-Fi, I hooked up to the system & started with some Al Green—no need for details on how that set the mood! Location is impossible to beat. Easy stroll to the sand & spots like Pono & Trestles. Even with heavy afternoon rain last week, we were so close that it didn't slow us down. We could grab a bite & be back on the terrace before the clouds let loose. Truly loved the peace & privacy. Already looking at dates to get back!

The listing photos are beautiful but they really don't do it justice. You notice so many details when you're actually there. It is such a thoughtfully put together place. Our favorite part was sitting outside in the morning with coffee, listening to the patio fountain, and just taking in the ocean view. The terrace has this great sense of privacy since it doesn't look right out at the pool like a lot of other units do. We spent more time out there than anywhere else. The kids walked to El Anclote Beach every day and we all wandered to nearby restaurants most evenings. No car needed for any of it. We will definitely book this place again when we return.

The photos caught our eye but it’s even better when you walk in. The kitchen alone is worth seeing in person, and the views from the terrace are just incredible. We had coffee out on the terrace every morning and actually watched whales from right there, which was a first for us. It’s a really peaceful spot because the unit doesn’t face the pool directly, so there’s none of that noise or foot traffic. Just the sound of the fountain and the ocean. We loved that the beach and all of the ocean front restaurants were a short walk away. El Anclote beach and surf spot is just steps down the complexes private path. Honestly, hard to imagine a better spot in Punta de Mita.

The condo was perfect. Easy access to the Punta Mita area and everything we needed. The communication our host was excellent. I strongly recommend this place!
