Schönes Haus

The kitchen was equipped with what was needed. There was not a dish rag to wash dishes. The air conditioning and heat worked fine.We had issues with men climbing a ladder and ended up on our balcony twice. Every morning that we were there, the workers were scraping our bedroom windows and pressure washing. One day, around lunch time, we opened the door to leave and was completely closed in. The whole front door had plastic across and we couldn't get out. We pulled the tape off so we could get out of the door.

Everything was great.

We had a wonderful couple of days enjoying my birthday with my sisters. The house was clean and cozy. The weather took an unusual turn - from ac one day to heat and using fireplace the next. We were happy that all worked well. Very close to downtown, shopping, restaurants and thrift stores (our love). Only recommendations: hot water was too hot and would recommend leaving a few more towels. Other than that, it was great. Your advice for dinner was wonderful as were all of our meals. We loved having the winery so close and we loved putting a lock on the bridge. We will definitely tell our friends and we will be back!

Very spacious, clean and decently equipped kitchen. Furnishings spartan. Concern: online description did not show/mention approx. 20 outside stone steps to reach the unit which posed significant access difficulties for our party of seniors, as did lack of any handholds, rails or towel racks in bathrooms. AC did not work (repair person was called).

Great for families!

Just a place to sleep and nothing more. Many electrical issues throughout the house. Spent 20 minutes trying to turn on of the 3 lights near the stairs so I can go upstairs. Messaged the host and got this response, You can line it up by putting one person at each light switch and flipping the switches to get it on:). They put single pull switches all over the house so one switch controls the power and then you have to align other switches to get it to turn on. The outlet next to one bed didn't work so I had to charge my phone across the room. One TV remote didn't work.Vanity faucet was loose and not operating right. Hot water didn't last enough for two showers back to back.Place was dirty with asian beetles on the ground inside. Mold in one of the showers. Stains on the blinds. Won't be back.

Host was helpful in answering our questions about the area and condo. Short drive to everything in the area. Condo area was quiet. Will stay again.

This was a very quick trip for us- one night stay only. Host communication from start to finish was great. Location was nice- mostly walkable from downtown with only one big hill. Beds were super comfortable, honestly would rate this bed the best I’ve ever slept in any rental, which is very important to me. Areas of improvement: Showers didn’t drain, seating availability at dining table and in living room is for 4 when listing is for 6, TVs in bedroom didn’t turn on, and water in shower was either going to cause 3rd degree burns or frostbite hah. For the money, I’d say the value is there. But I also think a 1500 upgrade in a few extra chairs, a good plumber, and new TVs would make a big (easy) difference for renters moving forward.

Overall, it was a really good stay. The TV in the large, upstairs bedroom didn't work, and one side of the kitchen sink didn't drain. We did find half of a lemon?, lime?, hard to tell, lodged in the drain. After removing it, the sink still didn't drain. On the amazing side, the beds and the linens were phenominal!! Talk about comfy cozy!! The sofa in the living room was excellent. The size of the apartment and the comfort and privacy were so good. Hope we can stay there again!

This was our second time staying here with two other couples. We like the 3 bedrooms with king beds and their own bathroom. Location is good also. We will definitely return.

Very dated property. Can opener didn’t work. TV in living area didn’t work. Wine opener very difficult to use. Bathrooms dirty. Porch full of spiders and cobwebs. Baseboards throughout dirty. Just did not feel like there was much effort in keeping the property updated.

The location was ideal and the place was set up perfectly for our family, all adults on this trip! Everyone having their own bathroom so we could all get ready for a wedding nearby was exceptionally helpful (though there were no towels in the main level bathroom, we just borrowed a couple from upstairs). The beds were comfortable, check in was a breeze, and the host James was very responsive, worked with us for an early check in, and made a staying at his place super easy! We would definitely stay here again if we need a place to stay.

The kitchen lacked in quite a few things, garbage depose did not work, no can opened that worked. No kitchen towels, not enough utensils for 6 people. TV in upstairs bedroom or wall socket bedroom did not work, only 1 hand towel in bathroom for two people. No bath mates for showers. No instructions for TV and then we lost internet when lots of people arrived for the weekend including the TV in the living room after I spoke with James. Disappointed

Porch was dirty with dead plant, mildew cushions and moldy musty smelling carpet. TV’s in bedrooms did not work, no bath mats, no tissues and only towels for one day. No mention in listing that it was on third floor. Only found out when final info was sent. Would never have rented if we knew steps were involved. Would not stay there again

This is a great condo for a family getaway. It has tons of space to spread out and we loved having a bathroom attached to all three bedrooms. The condo was clean and well-equipped and both check-in and out were smooth and easy. The location was perfect for us too, quiet and off the main strip but easy driving distance to everything we wanted to do.

Property was basically clean inside. Kitchen missing several essentials like enough serving places for six guests, dish cloths, cooking utensils. In bathrooms, missing bath mats, poor quality hand towels. Kuerig needs descaling. Need to restock tea and coffee options. Porch needs cleaning and additional seating. Light bulbs burned out in stairwell. The water throughout the property turned brown on our departure day.

We were very close to everything we wanted to do in Helen. We were right by the river for tubing, the mountain coaster, shops, and restaurants. Every bedroom having its own bathroom was an added bonus!

We loved the area and the convenience to town. Would love for more furniture to be in the common area and on porch. We only had four adults on this trip and it was tight with only one couch in common area and 2 chairs and a one person swing on porch. Great communication with owner. Advised him that the iron was missing from unit. Unit met our needs and beds were comfortable. Would come back again.

The place was just as it said online and it was a short ealk from everything. We had a minor problem but it was an understandable mistake.

We would definitely stay here again. Very clean and nice unit. We had everything we needed. The location was perfect. Close to everything but quiet. James, the owner, was great and quickly responded to messages. Easy check in and check out. We really enjoyed our stay here.

This condo is in a good location but needs some attention. The place wasn’t very clean. The beds were comfortable. When we arrived, the air was turned off so it was very hot until about midnight. We slept good when it cooled off! We won’t be back.

Love the space and convenience of the condo to the downtown area. Everyone had a nice big bed and bathroom.

Reminiscent of a pension in Germany, Schönes Haus is clean, comfortable, and well-appointed for overnight needs. It’s tucked away in a quiet, wooded neighborhood with convenient parking, and just minutes from downtown Helen. Host James is very helpful, responsive, and accommodating. Would recommend for those who appreciate German hospitality.

We enjoyed our stay. We joined our kids and grandkids and had plenty of room. Beds were comfortable and temperature nice. The only complaint i have is the water in the master bath was not warm enough to bathe or shower. We had to shower uostairs.

Very homey space, and the host is VERY accommodating and kind. The three bedrooms and three bathrooms gave three girlfriends privacy when needed, and also great gathering spaces such as the dining room, the living room and sitting porch. Clean, quiet atmosphere- even though surrounded by neighbors. Highly recommend Schönes Haus.

The house was nice but nasty hair in the shower on the toilet, mildew on the shower curtain in the pink room etc... blood on the curtain in another room hair in the shower. Kitchen wasnt clean stove was dirty and the silverware and bowls etc..was all nasty the only cleaning supplies was dish liquid we have to get our.I told the host and sent photos and i haven't heard nothing back but the house is nice just wasnt cleaning the pillow was even dirty.

The place is great, three massive rooms with separate bathrooms and king size beds. Bedding was clean which was a plus. But the rest of the house was not clean at all, floors felt like they had sand on them and haven’t been vacuumed in a month. Kitchen sink kept getting clogged so we had to use a plumber. And the dishwasher was full of water and not working.

The property was very spacious and clean. You do have to go up several steps to the entrance and can be a challenge with luggage. We had an issue with hot water being available in all rest rooms. Also, the outlets didn’t work in one bedroom. Overall we enjoyed our stay!

The hot water in showers was hard to get regulated especially in upstairs smaller bedroom and tv outlet in master didn’t work.

Interior of property was clean but could have had a few more amenities such as more than one night of towels provided. Hot water in showers was hard to regulate as was heat between upstairs and downstairs. Steps up to property were a challenge with luggage as we were an older group of women.We had a bear family to greet us but the owner promptly came out to assist us which we were very thankful for. Location is great for visiting Helen.

Not overly impressed mainly due to the downstairs shower not getting hot so the guest had to go upstairs to get a shower from one of the other rooms. The secondary upstairs shower had a leaking faucet and shower head that sprayed everywhere so we had to turn it in a certain direction so it wouldn’t spray all over the bathroom. Other than those plumbing issues, not a bad place. It is a little hike to town and further than expected but we made it work.

The place was great. Great location and beds were very comfy. Will def stay here again. Just be aware there are stairs that you must go up to reach the front door and 2-bedrooms are upstairs so if you have any trouble with stairs this is not your place. But for us it was wonderful. Next time we will be staying a little longer. (only stayed 1-night on our way to Gatlinburg)

We loved our Helen girls trip. We had a little problem getting hot water in our showers. Loved the porch, but only enough comfortable seating for 1 person.

We enjoyed having 3 beds and 3 baths for our group, great location. Close to town and able to walk to some restaurants. Owner was attentive to our requests. Listing did not include that there were a lot of steps to the unit and no other access. Not handicap accessible.

Our stay in Helen was short but we loved it. Really nice town and this rental was perfect for us. The property was very clean and we enjoyed the huge beds.

Overall, a very nice place. Be aware that for unit 111A you have to walk up 2 flights of outside stairs. Was not a problem for me but a manageable problem for my friends; we're all in our 70's. I gave an Overall Good rather than Excellent due to a problem with the inside stairwell lighting, which stumped me at first. It turns out that when the downstairs is switched off, the upstairs switch will NOT turn the stairwell light on. Fortunately I had brought flashlights (there are none in the unit) and was able to guide myself down. Simple fix: we learned not to turn off the downstairs switch if anyone was still upstairs. There was the same problem with the kitchen light, but less concerning.

Nice property, kitchen light needs fixing. Poor wifi connection, did not have password. Probably my lack of computer skills. Had a good time, would do it again.

We were in Helen Ga for our family reunion. This property was a mile from all the action in downtown Helen... it is great for a family of 6. We were very please with our stay. The host was great.

The cabin was perfect for our crew. The owner was great at communication, which we needed for a few small issues, but they were easily and promptly taken care of. Perfect location-close enough to the strip while being far enough away to not be inconvenienced with traffic and noise. We also enjoyed the NoFo Brewery and Mountain Creamery, just 10-15 minutes away and Anna Ruby Falls.

There were positives and negatives. The condo was not clean at all when we arrived and there wasn’t adequate cleaning supplies to get it in shape. There was a broom but no dust pan. We could have enjoyed using the washer and dryer but they were in really bad shape and owner should think about upgrading. The location was good, close to all the things we were interested in. It seemed to be a quiet area and parking was adequate. We were able to walk down to the stream and the kids enjoyed fishing there. The furniture and beds were comfortable.

We were only here one night but the place was clean, as presented, and just tucked away enough while still being super close to all we needed to do in downtown Helen.

Great end unit of a condo complex close to town. Each bedroom has a king bed and an ensuite bathroom. Place was very, very clean, and set up well as a short term rental with tasteful and simple furnishings and decor. Will definitely have this as my go to for Helen for when we return again!

Nice property. It was great. The kids had their own space upstairs. Close to all activities in Helen.

A very pleasant experience.The location of the house was perfect. The manager was very friendly and was very effective in communication.

The location is great, the owner was super responsive on any questions or concerns I had. The house fit our needs for a few days while visiting Helen with family. The rooms were large and it was nice that everyone had their own bathroom. There are quite a bit of stairs going up to the unit but we made it work.
