Beautifully restored 1840's era farmhouse is the ideal retreat for ski vacations, hiking, biking & exploring lakes and streams, hanging with friends & family and work from home & homeschooling stays. Features post & beam construction, wide plank flooring, luxurious radiant heat, stainless steel appliances, large windows and powerful WiFi.

Clean, cozy, and loads of character combining the best of old and new.

Please send a quick message with a few trip/group details before instant booking as we are on multiple sites!

It has been said that this is the coziest house in the world.

Warm in winter and cool in the summer, it has 4 bedrooms. There is a full bath upstairs (with washer & dryer), and a master suite with tile shower downstairs. It also has a half-bath, mudroom, covered porch, spacious living room and an open kitchen and dining room.

Coffee time in the morning or amazing après ski dinners at night are a treat when you are surrounded by windows in the open plan kitchen. The property features a large back yard with views of Mt. Mansfield and Hunger Mountain.

The house has a high definition TV with all the best apps (Netflix, Amazon, etc.) and both hard wired and wireless internet access in every room. There is off-street parking for several cars in the driveway.

It is an older house, and the stairs are a little steeper and narrower than those found in most homes today. Most people have no problem (our young kids are fine on them), there is a handrail (and baby gates available), but if you have trouble with normal stairs you'd want the downstairs bedroom, or a different house.

The location is centrally located between Stowe and the Village of Waterbury in a quiet, picturesque neighborhood.

The house is a perfect haven of tranquility. But also close to some of Vermont’s finest attractions - the Ben & Jerry’s factory and the Cold Hollow Cider Mill - are both within 2 miles. Also in town are many amazing restaurants, including Hen of the Wood and Michael’s On the Hill. We’re very close to Waterbury’s newest bar/restaurant/yoga studio, The Zen Barn! And nearby Stowe boasts too many fine restaurants and pubs to list.

Just a short drive from the house is the best downhill and x-country skiing, boarding, mountain biking, hiking and canoeing in New England. Within 10 miles lie Stowe Mountain Resort, Trapp Family Lodge, Waterbury Reservoir and the Lamoille and Winooski Rivers. Skiing at Bolton, Sugarbush and Mad River is nearby.

Just across the street is Hope Davey Park with playground, a skate park, ball fields, Frisbee golf, and walking/x-country skiing trails.

This is our vacation house and we're excited to share it. That said, the neighborhood is quiet, so please, no party groups!!

Strict no pets policy. Kids are very welcome.

If you book, please take minute to tell us a little about your group to satisfy our curiosity :)

We picked this house for our annual girls weekend trip and we didn’t want to leave! The listing was exactly as pictured and described and Tyler was an extremely responsive host. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking multiple meals; beds were super comfortable; and location was excellent. We went to the wonderful coffee/tea place down the street multiple times and also to Barr Hill in Montpelier; to Stowe and the Von Trapp Lodge; and to Burlington. All within an hour’s radius! Loved this place.

Even though this is an older home, it's in wonderful condition - all the benefits of age and character, but none of the dusty/drafty drawbacks. Would love to come back to this house to explore northern Vermont with extended family - plenty of room to do so with the king bed down and two queens and a kid room up, and a well-equipped, spacious kitchen with lots of space to hang out - sadly, we didn't use it much since our stay was so short. It was also well-stocked, and my only wish would have been for some coffee for the first morning, as I've seen in other vacation rentals. The huge yard with swing set out back was fun for our 8-year-old son, and even though it's a rural area, it was a short walk to Cold Hollow Cider and the other business on the main road. Tyler even kindly let me park my new-to-me car in the garage - thanks!

This was one of the nicest homes we've ever stayed in! Clean, spectacularly comfy, plenty of room, etc. Location was excellent - we went to Ben & Jerry's, kayaked, spent time in Stowe, went to Burlington, and could have easily spent another week.

We were in town for a birthday party and loved staying at this house. Beds were super comfortable and the home has all the necessities to relax and enjoy your stay. The renovation of this antique farmhouse kept all the charm and beauty, including wide pine floors and rustic beams, while adding modern conveniences like surround sound and well appointed bathrooms. Highly recommend.
