We had the good fortune of renting this amazing property for the month of September and loved everything about the condo and the area. Thomas and Roberta were wonderful to work with and they have done an outstanding job making their condo comfortable by combining modern updates while still keeping the New England charm. We enjoyed cooking in the well-stocked kitchen, appreciated the gorgeous updated bathrooms and were pleased at how clean the condo was. Sitting on the deck overlooking the Penobscot Bay was very serene and the surrounding housing area was a wonderful, peaceful place to take walks. We really enjoyed strolling the path that runs along the back of the property...the views are breathtaking. The condo has location, location, location being between Rockland and Camden. Without a doubt staying at Eastward was one of the best vacations we have ever had. We were actually sad to pack up our car and leave. Thank you Thomas and Roberta for sharing your piece of paradise.

This summer we enjoyed our second stay at 43 Eastward in Rockport. This time it was for a glorious 2 months. It was everything we remembered and more! This is a place to get away from all the stresses in life! Conveniently located in Rockport, all the comforts of home are there. Additional improvements were apparent including a beautiful new guest bathroom, fresh paint colors and lovely artwork. This condo has absolutely everything one could possibly need. The weather was beautiful for us alternating combination of sunny, foggy, hot and cool. Once again we took advantage of all the area has to offer: the fabulous Farnsworth Museum, schooner sails in the bay morning and sunset, picnics atop Mt. Battie, hunting for lighthouses up and down the coast, lobster in all forms, 4th of July fireworks viewed from offshore, wild blueberry picking, fresh flowers and veggies from Beth's farm market, peaceful neighborhood walks, cooling off in the pool, capturing postcard perfect photos from the deck and exploring spots off the beaten track. We took a few days to head north where we visited Lubec, Maine, the easternmost point in USA, followed by a fascinating day touring Campobello Island across the border in New Brunswick, Canada and the site of the Roosevelt family summer property. Even after two visits to midcoast Maine we still have a to-do list a mile long! The Thompsons are excellent hosts, very attentive, so easy to deal with. They have thought of everything one might require. You will not regret a stay at this premier property. The summer is awesome but bet the spring and autumn are even better. We will be back!

We could hardly believe our good fortune in finding the Thompson's vacation property. This beautiful, immaculate place with postcard views is exactly as represented in the photographs and the perfect location to enjoy peace and quiet or as a base to explore all that is good about Maine! We loved spending the whole month of August there and the Thompson's could not have been nicer or more helpful and easy to deal with. Here's just a sampling of things we did: the world famous Rockland Lobster Festival, lunch and sunset schooner cruises out of Camden and Rockport harbors, road trip to Acadia National Park, picnics on top of Mt. Battie, walking the breakwater, watching the sailboats go by on the deck, awesome farmers markets, sampling every blueberry pie in the area, more lobster, organ concerts, shopping, Children's Chapel in the woods, more lobster, late night milkshakes at Dairy Dream, watching the fog roll in, going to see the Oreo cows, finding iconic Maine lighthouses, museums, exploring small villages inland, walking along the shoreline, and so much more. There are so many things we didn't even get to do. We might have watched TV for 2 hours total in a month! The condo is very comfortable and updated. Literally everything you might need is provided. There is a lovely swimming pool and tennis courts as well. Grocery and other necessary shopping is 5 minutes away. Eastward on the Ocean is a gorgeous, historic neighborhood. We made lots of friends and liked it so much we are returning for a longer period next year. Thanks for the memories and here's hoping the weather will be as perfect again for us!

We visited Rockport in October, 2016 with another couple. We are from South Florida, so we wanted to see the changing of the leaves, enjoy some beautiful fall Maine weather, do some fun stuff and stay at a beautiful place. WOW….did we ever!!! The condo suited our needs perfectly. Downstairs was a cozy living room, with a newly remodeled kitchen off to its right. The kitchen was stocked with every gadget and appliance, just like your own home. There was a spacious dining area next to the kitchen. Upstairs were two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The beds were extremely comfortable and the bedding was designer quality. The bathrooms were stocked with plush towels. This was way better than staying at an overpriced hotel. It was like home!!! I am a stickler for cleanliness, and this condo was immaculate! Beautifully decorated, cozy, warm, inviting, and every single room has a gorgeous view of Penobscot Bay. There is so much to do in the area, sightseeing, hiking, visiting lighthouses, etc. We even found a place to purchase lobsters dirt cheap, literally right out of the water. It was so much fun, and we will definitely be back. Thank you to the property owners, Thomas and Roberta, for providing such a nice home away from home. They were the nicest people you would ever want to talk to, and were so accommodating! We are so happy we found this gem! Please stay here….you won’t be disappointed. We recommended this condo to some friends, and they are planning a visit in the spring. Thanks again!!!

Perfect Maine vacay!! First time visitors - the condo was terrific! Even better than described!!!! Very clean and well appointed! We ate breakfast and dinner in the condo as it was so cozy and easy to relax in. Great location and beautiful ocean views!!! Great for experiencing Rockport, Freeport, Acadia Park, and lots of lobster! We recommend early October as the leaves were just starting to turn and the communities hadn't closed for the season!!!!

Sun-filled home with ocean views from every room--perfect for one or two couples. Very clean and spacious with no clutter. Owners are very friendly and responsive. Only downside for us was that the nice TV only got a few basic channels and we were not able to watch Red Sox (streaming not possible due to network area regulations--basic plus would solve the issue and we've gotten that at other area homes).

The 80 acre grounds are quiet and peaceful and give lots of places to take your morning walk. The rental unit gave a great sense of cottage and the remodelled kitchen was a joy to work in. 43 Eastward by the Ocean is convenient to shopping, restaurants and all sorts of places to visit and things to do. Rockport is ideally situated to be a home base for exploring coastal Maine and interior Maine. The owners were very intentional about ensuring that our stay was pleasant and problem free. I could not have asked for better.

Homes adorned with harvest decor, crisp air and a leaves changing from green to a kaleidoscope of colors …Maine is the perfect fall retreat! This Eastward on the Ocean condo is in the historic manor home with the charm of yesteryear and the amenities of today. Everything was sparkling clean! The kitchen and appliances are brand new and was stocked with everything we could imagine. Bedrooms are warm and inviting with cozy comforters to snuggle under on crisp fall nights. We loved the quiet mornings, sitting in the living room and looking out at the ocean and watching birds and foxes playing in the yard outside. The private community has expansive lawns with paths to wander the 63 acres; just out the front door was a lovely pond wrapped by trees in full fall color and just behind the back porch was a spacious lawn rolling down to the ocean bluffs and walking path which has amazing views. The condo’s location was perfect with easy access to Rockport as well as Rockland & Camden, which have quaint downtowns with museums, restaurants, shopping, with easy access to parks, boating, hiking, bicycling, swimming, tennis, etc. We look forward to staying at this property again…just need to decide if it’s for a summer retreat or the perfect Norman Rockwell New England Christmas. The owners were very accommodating, easy to work with and worked diligently to make sure our every need was met or exceeded. Put this property high on your vacation list!

Your condominium is beautiful and a welcoming place. It is nicely furnished, clean and comfortable for your complete “Home Away”. The condo is on Penobscot Bay with a beautiful unobstructed view of the ocean. Sunrises are simply phenomenal and the moon rises and shines on the waters. Breathtaking! You get million dollar views at reasonable prices. No matter your interest, there is plenty for you nearby. The rocky coast is home to numerous lighthouses, and small towns. Next door is the Samoset Resort Golf Club. Located ½ way between Kennebunkport and Bar Harbor, it is convenient for many day trips. We went to: Acadia National Park where we saw Cadillac Mountain, walking trails, Thunder Hole, and ecology. Monhegan Island with its artists, art museum, lighthouse, and local island living. Sailed on the Schooner Heron out of Rockport Harbor. Toured the Farnsworth Museum in Rockland. Bring your camera and walking shoes and have a wonderful experience. Life is good. Charles S., Atlanta
