Cozumel, Quintana Roo
A STANDOUT CONDO IN AN OUTSTANDING LOCATION
Situated in the gated and gorgeous Residencias Reef community, Casa Julie is the ideal spot for those who prefer a little seclusion, a lot of elegance, and every modern convenience from a seaside vacation in the incomparable Mayan Riviera.
Among the many standout features of Casa Julie is its wide and long terrace, complete with comfortable lounge chairs, dining tables, and ocean views that just wonât quit. To supplement the soft ocean breezes, and outdoor ceiling fan is also provided, so you can spend hours on the balcony without overheating.
Inside, you'll be impressed by the sleek, sophisticated, and inviting décor, with splashes of soft yellow and cream-colored tiled floors, comfortable couches, a superb dining room with seating for six, and a fantastic breakfast bar for quick and casual meals.
The living area has a murphy bed as well as a few recliners, so you can kick back and relax. Thereâs also a flat-screen TV with an extensive cable lineup, including plenty of English-language channels. Wi-Fi is available throughout the home, so you can check in with family, work, and friends. Your hosts have also include Vonage phone service, so any calls to the U.S. or Canada are completely free.
The fantastic second-floor terrace, just beyond the sliding glass doors, makes this space particularly scenic and versatile. And although you are in an especially safe, gated community with round-the-clock security guards, an in-room safe is provided to ensure peace of mind.
The kitchen boasts modern stainless-steel appliances (including a dishwasher and oven) plus all the smaller but necessary gadgets like a coffee pot, microwave and blender. The open-concept design means the chef can be part of the conversation while preparing home-made feasts utilizing the freshest local ingredients. The countertops and cabinetry and full supply of all cook and dishware will make you feel right at home, and perhaps inspire you to whip up your own Mexican-inspired dishes.
This one-bedroom unit has a master suite complete with king-sized bed, an ensuite thatâs modern and lovely, and fantastic views. It too is masterfully decorated and serves as a wonderful place to retire after a full day of fun in the sun.
When youâre ready to do more than just enjoy the view of the amenities from afar, head out for a hands-on experience of the great outdoors. Homeowners have taken great steps to ensure that this property is spectacularly maintained, and itâs clear that they have succeeded. The lawn and gardens are sculpted and manicured, and each of the two freshwater pools are sparkling clean.
Want more Because there is. Like the outdoor Jacuzzi, SCUBA and snorkeling gear rinse tank, an outdoor shower, palapas and palm trees by the dozen. You even have access to the rooftop observation deck, which gives you breathtaking vistas of the entire community and, of course, the turquoise waters of the Caribbean.
A few steps away is the famed white-sand beach and multi-hued blue waters of the Caribbean, and you are welcome to enjoy all the amenities. You can take off on a SCUBA or snorkeling adventureâtheyâll even pick you up at the nearby dockâor you can just body surf in the warm water and gentle swells that lap the beach. There are plenty of places to grab a bite to eat (some even deliver) or a cold drink.
Approximately 15 minutes away is downtown Cozumel, where you can walk along the oceanfront promenade for a bit of shopping or sightseeing. Restaurants, bars and vendors selling everything from homemade tacos to hand-crafted fabrics line the promenade, as well as duty-free stores and nice boutiques.
Itâs hard to believe you can be on one of the most famed and exotic locations in the Caribbean and yet enjoy complete seclusion. But thatâs what makes Casa Julie stand outâand makes it an outstanding choice.
Just returned from a 2 week stay at Casa Julie (8210) at Residencia Reef. I will highlight the pros and cons of this property and this condo PROS: * comfortable furniture - bed, couch, chairs and dining set * plenty of new absorbent bath and hand towels with washcloths * two large beach towels provided * completely soundproof - no noise from adjoining units * adequate dishes and cookware - I wanted a 9x13 pan for a baked casserole and the manager purchased it for me. * close to both pools as well as the beach - never had a problem getting a lounge in either location * friends who live on the island were welcome to visit us and enjoy the beach and pool * onsite manager always available via email * security at the gate very friendly * taco stand a short distance north of the property was very good as was Carlos and Charlie's which was a short walk on the beach to the south * The pier next door at Secrets does allow guests to be picked up by your dive boat. Just purchase a ticket at the security gate and present to the security staff on the pier when your boat arrives. Tickets are $2 USD per day. * taxis can be arranged by emailing the onsite manager. Pay in pesos. I was told before arriving that the taxi would be 15 USD to town each way. The price is 170 pesos each way which is about $8.50 USD at the current exchange rate. We arranged for our taxi to take us to Mega, wait while we shopped and take us back for $400 pesos. CONS: * mosquitos were abundant. They sprayed for them frequently but there is a mangrove just outside the building and due to the amount of rain while we were there, it was impossible to keep up. * the distance from town was an issue for us in that we did not go to town for as many dinners as we would have liked. * the air conditioner in the bedroom is VERY noisy. Take earplugs. * while the beach is lovely, entry in the ocean requires caution due to coral. Not a deal breaker...just know what to expect and take water shoes. * TV reception was hit and miss...again we had a lot of rain and cloud cover which interfered with the satellite signal. The unit has a smart tv which is nice if you have a Netflix account, but again, it was not always available. The owner provides a lot of books to read and even when stormy, it is comfortable sitting on the balcony. BOTTOM LINE: I would return to this propery and this condo again.
Condo location was great, beautiful view of ocean, wonderful beach and pools but,... the first night I pulled back the sheets on the bed and there was a blood stain on the sheets. I thought the sheets hadn't been changes so I got another set from the cabinet. Those also were stained. I found sheets that weren't stained but the pillow case was. I finally was able to mix sheets and pillow cases to get a set that wasn't stained. Time for the owners to buy new linens. Hot water is limited. Two showers can not be taken in a row without running out of hot water. It also would have been nice if there were a few more staples in the kitchen, like salt, pepper, sugar, coffee filters. This is not to say I wouldn't stay here again. I'll just be better prepared. It just didn't live up to some of the other VRBO rentals we've stayed in.
It was like being at home. The place was decorated with their own personal touches. Clean and comfortable. Just steps away from the pool and the beach. Incredible sunsets right from the balcony. Everyone who worked on the grounds from the gate, grounds people and cleaning crew always had a smile. Definitely would recommend to stay here.
My husband & I just spent 3 weeks in this condo, our 2nd stay & we dearly love it! It has everything we need. We love being able to see the beach from the kitchen & also a great view from the balcony. We have rented a car before, but last 2 trips have used taxis, we find it much easier & cheaper in the long run. We usually go into town every 4 days, have dinner & restock groceries! Alex is always a pleasure to work with, he is prompt to take care of any needs you may have & on our last day there he made a point to stop by & say goodbye & offered us a late check out since no one was coming in behind us, which was wonderful since we had a late flight. From booking to finish it is always so simple, we are already planning our next visit and will stay in Casa Julie!
My wife and I stayed in Cases Julie for a week. We have been to Cozumel a number of times and stayed in various places around the island. We found the Condo to be quite comfortable and spacious (for 2 people). The entire complex was well maintained. Access to two pools was easy as was access to the beach. Do take note that there are no food facilities on the development premises. You can easily walk to Carlos & Charlies a bit down the beach but they close at 4:00. We always rent a car so this was not an issue for us. Although there is a nice stretch of beach, you need to wear water shoes to get in the water as it is a bit rocky. We would certainly recommend this condo and will likely try to stay there again on our next trip to Cozumel.
Our party was 3 adults who love snorkeling and scuba diving. This is our second time in this specific condo and we love it. The view is wonderful, seeing the ocean from the patio morning and sunset was such a perfect way to begin and end our fun packed days. The Internet connection was wonderful and greatly appreciated. We were grateful for the air conditioning. We did have a car and enjoyed our almost daily trip to the local grocery store--in 8 days we only ate one meal out so we made good use of the kitchen. The oven was excellent. The apartment was a great haven after a full day on the water or in the water. We rented Hobie Cat almost daily when there was wind. The pier nearby makes it easy to get picked up for a day of scuba and snorkeling. Our favorite shore snorkeling spot was the Corona Bar just up the road a bit by car. Good food, friendly care takers and the best snorkeling spot we found in our many stops. There is a new place visible from the Corona Bar--more upscale BUT miserable snorkeling--nothing to see. Our property manager was very responsive if we did need something but overall it was a very carefree place to stay. We will be back!
My husband & I spent 14 nights in this lovely condo & could easily have stayed longer!! We found it to be extremely comfortable & very well equipped with everything we needed. The washer/dryer was especially nice to have. Just steps away from the ocean, in fact, you can actually stand in the kitchen & see the ocean, beautiful view! This visit we did not rent a car, used taxis instead & liked it much better & saved lots of money. We made a trip to town to Mega about every 4 days to restock groceries & had dinner in town. The grill on the patio was very nice to have, my husband cooked on it several times. This might not be the place to stay if you don't want to cook your meals because other than the beach clubs (& they close at 5) there are no restaurants in walking distance. If you are looking for a relaxing, Caribbean, do nothing vacation this is the place you need to be! We are walkers so each morning we headed south on the old road for a nice safe walk. The grounds crew are always busy keeping everything in tip top shape. The security guys are extremely friendly & helpful. There are plenty of chairs on the beach/pools. Also, very nice comfortable chairs on the patio. I could go on and on, but as you can probably tell we fell in love with this condo & cannot wait to return!!!
Our family of 3 stayed in Casa Julie for 9 nights in June. The location was beautiful and is right on the ocean. The kitchen was well appointed with lots of pots and pans, plates and cups. The huge bathroom had a lot of towels and a blow dryer. The deck was very comfy and useful for hanging wet wetsuits following diving. There was a short walk to the pier to be picked up by the dive boat. We did find all of the furniture, including bed and pull out couch, to be extremely uncomfortable. The dining table chairs were breaking. The air conditioning unit in the living room was leaking. We have been to Cozumel 11 times, and this is the 4th time we've stayed in a rental, so we know what to expect. We will not stay here again due to the furniture. The beach was gorgeous, but you definitely need a good pair of water shoes.
