Lodge 5 is a compact lodge in a quiet location up a hillside but is in need of refreshing - the bathroom floors are uneven and as a previous guest in lodge 4 noted if you use the WC don't bounce or there is a danger you will follow through! The shower is good but the bathroom is tired-looking, like the whole lodge it could do with a fresh coat of paint and a good clean of the windows. The bedrooms are small - but the beds are very comfortable and the linen clean - The kitchen area is also neat in size - bring a dish towel ! there is no dishwasher .. The log fire is a bonus and very cozy once it’s running - with single glazed windows it is needed for the cool evenings if you are having a night in For 4 adult sized people it’s a compact stay ! you do need a computer skill to tune in the tv and you will not find bbc or bbc news Although there was probably a great view when the lodges were built - due to the growth of the trees there is little view from the lodges now - it is ideally located for access to the great glen way … and there are plenty of hills and walks within an easy drive We enjoyed our stay but it was not the standard we had expected

We had a peaceful stay in this clean and sweet cabin. We took several walks nearby. No need to drive anywhere, just leave the compound and connect to the hill walk or the Great Glen Way. Perfect and helpful hosts! There was plenty of firewood for the wood burning stove. We are looking forward to staying again when we are in Scotland!

Lovely group of rustic cabins in a secluded setting. Everything we needed for a base to explore the Lochness/Inverness area. Wonderful hostess, very accommodating.

If you like quiet beautiful places, this is it. The owners are fantastic and so helpful. Fully self catering, so the option to go out or stay in. The 5mile road in to the woods is a great drive, yet so close to the co-op supermarket and everything you could need. Only minutes away from Loch Ness and Urqhart Castle is just down the road. Great little cabins. Highly recommend.

We loved the fact that we felt as if we were in a remote, peaceful and quiet location but only a short drive away from shop, restaurants and Loch Ness. Perfect if you want to get away from the rat race. Very clean, comfortable lodge. Wood burning stove kept the lodge nice and cosy. Plenty of walks for the dogs nearby. The dogs enjoyed the doggy box of goodies. Staff very friendly. Probably could do with double glazing but i believe the lodges are gradually being refurbished.
