The Herdwick Safari Tent is an incredible glamping experience set on the edge of a lake on a private farm and with its own private hot tub. The owners provide a warm welcome and guests can also benefit from free entry to the farm park and a discount at the on-site farm shop which stocks local produce.

The safari tent offers a luxurious glamping experience with an open-plan kitchen, dining, and living area. Inside, there is a private bathroom featuring a beautiful roll-top, free-standing bath. It includes a double bedroom and a second double bed located in the elevated section of the living room, which may not be ideal for individuals with limited mobility. Additionally, two single pull-out futons can be provided for children, accommodating up to six guests in total.

Guests will love sitting in the hot tub and soaking up the lake and countryside views whilst the BBQ is perfect for cooking on in the warm summer evenings.

The on-site farm park means kids and adults alike can enjoy meeting the alpacas, lambs, pigs and other farm animals.

The Herdwick Safari Tent is set in the quiet oasis of the farm but is handily only a few minutes’ drive from the centre of Hertford and the A10, which means easy access to the local shops and pubs. There's a number of things for guests to do in and around Hertford such as a trip to Hertford Castle where the grounds and gardens are open to the public and ideal for a picnic. There are plenty of walking trails nearby such as the Chadwell Way Sculpture Trail which follows a five mile route through the towns and countryside of Hertford, Ware and Great Amwell, in Hertfordshire.

Really enjoyed our time at the tent. Location was lovely with the lake. Accommodation excellent, beds v comfy and our child loved the treehouse bed! Access to the playground after-hours was an unexpected and much appreciated bonus. We recommend wellies due to there being lots of bird poo surrounding the tent. Having the hot tub lit on arrival was brilliant, as was the complementary afternoon tea. Thank you. A warning about the masses of animal and bird poo surrounding the tent would have been appreciated - wellies were essential. Instructions for the hot tub said to drain the water after every use. When we asked, we were told this was not necessary (despite it being in the information book) so the second hot tub was in somewhat scummy water. (We also couldn’t get the water much hotter than 32 degrees but had followed the instructions so don’t know what we did wrong). Didn’t think the accommodation was perfectly clean - lots of cobwebs, esp on terrace where you hang your swimwear. Would also have appreciated some hooks nearer the hot tub to hang towels :)

This is a fantastic place in a great location. The addition of the air fryer is really good! Superb staff team who really helped us with the hot tub! Thank you would stay again.

It was a lovely family break, great hot tub. Little chilly in the evening so just wrapped up when you're going to bed. Cleanliness of the pods

We were welcomed as soon as we arrived and they were thorough in giving us all the information we needed to have a brilliant stay! The facilities in the tent were excellent. We didn't find anything that could have been improved! All the kitchen things /bedding/towels we needed were there.

We loved staying in the safari tent. The beds were comfy, running hot water, plenty of space and kitchen equipment the location was perfect too! There wasn’t any wood for us to use on our second day for the hot tub. It seemed to be used up by the other cabins. Providing basics such as toiletries, cleaning products, bin bags etc would be a huge benefit especially for the price of the tent
